Many say that the game is dead, because there are few players on Steam and compared to the horizon
Firstly, Forza Horizonte 5 is the biggest racing game of all time in terms of player numbers, there is no point comparing it to FM, FM will never reach those numbers
Another mistake is to compare with AC or Iracing, games with a focus on PC and simulation, but which are relevant on consoles, casual audiences don’t play these games
Now, FM was designed for the GP and that’s why it works on the monthly update system, and the focus is on the game time that players spend on it, and this is a crucial factor that helps the game.
Let’s use the game HIGH FI RUSH as an example, the game was played a lot and was a success at the time, it takes around 10 hours to complete on average, after that the player never opens the game again, how many players did HIGH FI have 1 year and 2 months betting on the launch?
In FM players play for much longer periods
In this photo we can see that I have 858 hours of play, and I’m not even the one with the most hours among my friends, for a game like HIGH FI RUSH to have that amount of play time it needs an average of 85 players, for “FVKvilao”, that would be 100 players, and if you add the 7 players that appear on the screen it would give a total of 5,525 hours of play, a 10 hour campaign game would need 552 players to give the screen time of 7 frequent FM players
In the GP system this is more important, how many hours you play your game.
This ends up being reflected in the fact that FM is always among the most popular games in the GP, something that would not happen in its first 5 months
Is the game perfect for that reason? NO…The game has a lot to improve, it launched well below expectations, but I believe so, this game will continue to receive support for years, it is more popular on GP than Steam, but that’s what it’s for it was designed
I have faith in the developers, and I believe that we will have a bright future and that this game will do what No Mans Sky or Fallout76 did
