So am I gonna have to buy forza horizon 2 in order to find people to race with or will a fair amount of people stay on 5? Not much a veteran so I’m not sure on how the forza players hang onto the older games
Forza 5 will continue to emerge and Horizon 2 will simply be another new driving game off to forge it’s own destiny. So don’t expect FM5 friends to abscond just yet!
the forza horizen games are nothing bu prologues to the new game coming out, they test features and if they work they will be in forza 6, if you have forza 5 no point buying horizen games.
You didn’t know that they are the same game shadow… I love racing thru the streets and going off road in forza 5. Guess there is no difference between the 2 at all so I should go cancel my preorder for it…
What? There’s plenty of point, it’s a different kind of game, and you can bet that I’ll be getting Horizon 2, as I enjoyed the first one. And I’ll continue to play Forza 5 as well time to time. Just like I did Forza 4 when the first Horizon came out.
To say there is no point, is just silly
And to say like the guy above me did about ‘mature’ Hmm, I guess I’m really immature at 33 years old to enjoy a wide variety of games.
In my world, Horizon was a Fantastic version of Forza, that I could not fall in love with. I enjoyed the game, the cars, the locale, the music, but it was over for me much too fast.
Giving the game some kind of a story, kinda ruined it for me, I felt compelled to progress until it became stale. Which honestly happened before the First DLC. I found no reason to jump back into Horizon after the first 2 or 3 weeks of it being in the drive. I played Borderlands 2 pretty much non-stop, after doing what I felt like doing in Horizon, and then I was right back into Borderlands. It wasn’t until Forza 5 did I touch a Forza game again, aside from taking photos, and because of the poor color depth in Horizon, I went straight back to FM4.
This may however change a little bit for me this time around, because I am expecting a JUMP UP in fidelity this time with the photomode in Horizon 2, and if so, it will likely be where I go to take my pictures until FM6.
Both are great reasons to own an XBOX ONE, and I expect that while the crowd will thin out, I don’t really expect the RACERS, to stick it out after a few weeks. People that Like community based multiplayer, rather than competitive stuff, will likely stay with Horizon, leaving the best track racers in a less crowded, more serious scene. The only thing that concerns me with that, is 5 or 6 other racing games, launching around the same time.
I am a Forza guy, but I will try anything once, and Some of the other games, look to be decent as well.
Horizon 2 completely killing off the audience of FM5 is unlikely, but expect racing to become much more challenging, with less noobish behavior.
I think Project Cars will take a lot of the Forza Faithful, including me. It was just announced yesterday that Project Cars will have the 24 hrs of Le Mans. Complete with day/night change & changing weather. If PC can really deliver, since it’s using aspects of both GT & FM, it can possibly be the racing game to play for the for see able future. Just got to wait on November to get our hands on it.
Some FM5 players will be moving to Horizon and FM5 will slow down. However, FM5 doesn’t seem that busy online anyways so there may be some really empty days.
While Horizon 2 will be a decent game, there’s a slew of other killer games coming out around that time too. I’d anticipate a big drop in FM5 play in late 3rd, and 4th quarter 2014.
After buying Forza Horizon the first time, and spending a few hours with the game, it felt like an unrealistic racing game… something my kid would like… I won’t “leave” for Horizon… I like many others who play F5 are looking for more of a mature simulation racing game, not a try hard sound track, with cars that seem to have a the title game,( Need For Speed) game feel…
Can you please tell me which NFS game felt like Horizon. Reason I ask is if there is one out there I would really enjoy it so would like to try it but none of the NFS games I have played felt anything like Horizon.
The only need for speed game I liked was hot pursuit multiplayer because if u weren’t wrecking u weren’t winning. That game released a lot of my frustration lol
No plans on getting FH2, I like circuit racing as opposed to the open world idea. I’d imagine the first week or two will be the most noticeable to online play, then things will even back out a bit.
