In previous installments different compounds could be used in one lobby and still be competative. In a way.. I miss the different builds in a lobby. Apart from this.. Nostalgic feeling; i think a lot of cars could be more viable on a lower compound when the pi system was a bit better. A 4.5 grip car on sports will never be able to beat the same car as a 4.5 build on soft race tires making the pi system flawed.
The racetires are pi set on mediums giving the softs a free PI boost. Id opt for rating race tires on softs instead of mediums to bring compounds together a bit more and thus making more cars and builds usable
I think each compound (RH/RM/RS) should have own PI rating. This is a problem in all lobbies with different tyre types (Sport vs Race etc.) and also renders RH tyres pretty much useless in 10 minute lobbies.
This problem is seemingly also acknowledged (and fixed) in Gran Turismo where you select maximum compound before the race and set power (PP) accordingly. In the race using for example RH tyres gives you more power but more grippy compounds are locked out - problem solved.
There’s already a Power/torque fine tuning suggestion which would solve how to set up correct power level for each compound.
