Performance - frame rate drops and micro stutters in multiplayer on Xbox - update 13 (1901421)

I think the thread title needs to be updated. This is happening in career and free play too. So basically, whenever there are lots of cars on the track or a full grid.

Noticed lots of hiccups on the first lap or so as well doing full grid races in free play and career races.

I am seeing heavy stuttering at the start of races across various tracks.

Having severe FPS losses when I run any ray tracing. Without RT on, I get a locked 82FPS (Vsync to 60FPS setting), if I only turn on car reflections, the FPS drops into the 40FPS - 50FPS range.

The VRam warning turns red if I set the graphics target on High or Ultra. That is even if I have low car, track, livery and no RT on.

I can only get smooth gameplay with Medium render target and Auto everything on. The game avoids any RT effects with this setting on.

I am on PC running the Steam edition.

Looked at the Nvidia overlay while playing. Where I used to be able to keep the GPU utilization under 80% in Medium to low render target settings, I am now seeing the GPU running in the upper 80’s and low 90’s on Medium full automatic settings.

I was able to get away with running High render, ultra car, high livery, medium track, highest settings for the inconsequentials, and Medium Full RT, all while keeping the Vram used around 7,9xx. Doing that, my GPU utilization was about 88% and the temps were in the managable 70⁰C range. I pointed a fan at my tower just to aid airflow.

Those same settings are now above 10,400 on my PC. The strange thing is, for a few days, nothing seemed to be different, but once the Mustang Events were opened, the performance tanked. Its intresting that all my performance issues happened once the full update was accessable.

Had this to even before the update but since the update it’s now it like smaller stutters and it actually effect laptime game is almost unplayable

Fed up now same problems every game recycle bugs forzatec engine maybe.

I believe I’ve found a potential cause in Qualifying.

When you’re on-track you may experience a stutter just as new cars spawn onto the circuit.

I’m getting an intermittent stutter during multiplayer races in Touring Cars now that I’ve never seen before & also had a lot of crashes to dashboard when I was racing last weekend & last night,

Yes I’ve been getting a lot of stuttering and crashes ever since the update I’m on Xbox series x and I’m wired not using Wi-Fi I hate this it makes a game unplayable

Where to start with the latest update!!

  1. Frame rate issues every online practice and qually in every session. Car is stuttering and screen is flickering on all tracks.
  2. Fuel for practice and quality sessions is not being applied to my inputs. Practice I will put 6 laps of fuel in, I will get on track and I have a full tank of fuel. I have to then go back to pits, go to fuel and tires for it to correct itself. Same thing with qualifying.
  3. When picking a livery for my car, the liveries are taking an age to load. Then when I finally find one to apply, my game will flicker then it dashboards me.
  4. I have tried entering 6-7 races today after spending 15-20 doing practice and qually. I get to the grid and my game crashes on me. Every single race today this has happened. I haven’t managed to start a single race all day. Not 1!!!

It’s not just MP. Freeplay as well the first lap of each race has micro stutters, after first lap its fine.

something is definitely broken, car collisions on private mp are not workin properly.

this cant wait a whole month to get fixed, i expect a hotfix soon.

After loading a tracks the game stutters and have instable framerates for the first minute sometimes longer. It comes with update 13. I hope this will be fixes before update14

Can we get an information if you guys are aware of these problems and if you’re already working on a fix?
I really don’t hope this will take until update 14 to fix.
The game is nearly unplayable now.

Since this update, I have also had severe micro-stuttering, no amount of tinkering with the settings brings any improvement. I am on PC.

Frame rate is a mess on Series X. Kicked to the dashboard after qualifying is so annoying. Also the fuel bug is really bad. I have 3 laps for qualifying but run out after half a lap. Next time I put 6 laps in and end up with 40 laps of fuel. How can this happen after a year.
Most smaller game developers have a fix out and fix there game issues in a few weeks. We ate still waiting and it’s over a year. Game is far worse than on release

I also have serious stutters/frame drops on series x on both multiplayer and freeplay single player.

Finally hotfix 13.1 arrived and for me stutters no longer exist. Good job T10. Next time pls take some time for testing before release :wink:

We are closing out this issue. The developers have noted this issue as Fixed as of Update 13.1 on 10.21.24

• Fixed an issue in Multiplayer Practice & Qualifying where hitching or stuttering could occur as players joined or left the lobby [1901421].

At the time of the fix this topic had 93 votes.
