Couldnt even get that right… sigh
Personally wouldnt class current gen or 1 gen older than current as “OLDER MACHINES”…

It’s a multithreaded CPU task, the age and power of the GPU doesn’t really matter. Older and lower tier CPUs will take longer.
Same Issue on a AMD Ryzen 5950+ with a AMD 7900XTX, 32 GB RAM, 980 Pro M2, 1000W Power Supply.
WIN11 and AMD Drivers Up to Date. This Game is a bad Joke. Any other Games on my PC runs perfect.
Starfield, Cyberpunk, Diablo 4, FH 5 etc. etc.
This is the Problem…
A game MUST be adapted to the corresponding systems and not vice versa. Can’t be that you as a gamer first have to turn your PC upside down to run a game. XBox Services, Windows Store, Windows Firewall, Defender, etc… These are things that run on every Windows PC and should not have to be adapted.
I also have the problem that the game crashes constantly in career mode. I have now given up and will uninstall the game.
It’s a cheek to release something like this.
Incorrect, please stick to the FACTS
only need to scroll up alittle to see the issue being reported with:
Ryzen 5600, i9 9900k, Ryzen 5950X to name a few
where as, these are reporting no issues:
Ryzen 3600, i5 7600, i7 8700… which are OLDER & LOWER TIER … sigh…
You misunderstand the time factor. The shader generation is done on the CPU, not the GPU. Older and lower tier CPUs will take longer to generate them. The time required is a separate issue to the bug causing them to be regenerated on each start of the game.
except OLDER & LOWER TIER are doing it FASTER!!.. thats the point - something isnt right
The fact it has to redo it upon every launch is another issue in itself i agree
No, my 5950X is doing it much faster than a 9900K, for example. Faster CPUs with higher core counts generate the shaders faster.
im happy yours is working as intended, but there are loads on posts (not just this thread on the forza forums) saying (intel) 9th & 10th+ gen taking 8-10 mins, some reporting 7th-8th gen only taking 5mins the chips reported vary in core n clock mostly with newer being more n higher… In regards to AMD, again many reports saying R5 3 series taking 5-6mins where as R5 5 series owners reporting 10min+…
I understand your point, and YES it is SUPPOSED to work like that, except something somewhere isnt right as its seems random but the “What should happen” doesnt match the “What is happening”
No, it’s not working as intended on my 5950X. It is generating the shaders every time the game starts, instead of generating them once and caching them until something changes.
It’s not hardware related.
Ryzen 9 7900
RX 7900XTX
32GB DDR5 6000
Gen 4 nVme
Optimizes shaders every launch. For me it’s around 40 seconds so I suppose there is a hardware variable.
Correction - Just timed it, takes just under 2 minutes
As you can see this is my build and as such if it was an AMD issue when it comes to CPU this clearly shows that its not, I sit here each time the game loads up for 5-10 minutes while it optmizes shaders.
Can the ynot allow it to download manually and place in a folder so that its not needed like this ???
As of 10:58am game crashed restarted opt shaders again 10:58am 22%, 11:00am 46%, 11:01am 78%, shaders optomized just before 11:02am so all in all 4 minutes thats still jokes for shaders and every load time.
Also not familiar with AMD drivers and updates (only just got this build a few weeks back) BUT I am quite confident its the latest driver (or was) if their is currently a newer one last night for (EG).
I literally just timed this using the clock on my PC, while watching it and posting.
i have the same issue not just that each time i start the game i have to do the shaders which takes around probably 10 mins
but the game as soon as i enable fsr the game crashes and anything i would say 7 to 10 meters away from you looks blurry for some reason making the terrain and the cars infront of you blurry or weird looking
im from the gamepass normal edition
i have amd rx 5700xt and i5 10400f 16gb ram and the game is on my nvme ssd windows 11
im on the latest amd drivers
as for performance i put everything on low except the car details and im getting around 100 to 120 fps
good but the game looks blurry to the point i didnt even finish the first training when u launch the game on the first time
i wanna give the game a chance but dang it i have to wait 10 mins and few tries to login to xbox network just to play and the game taking 120gb space
its not helping the situation…
i forgot to mention that my friends aswell has the same visual issue and he is using cloud geforce now
he doesnt have shader optimization at all since he is cloud gaming but the visuals suck
AMD Adrenalin 23.10.2 has been released, but unfortunately the shaders are still being recompiled on each game launch. Going into the AMD Adrenalin UI to clear the shader cache does not seem to help.
As for 23.10.1, it wasn’t really “messed up”. Various anti-cheats were falsely triggering when AMD Anti-Lag+ was enabled because they didn’t like the way that hooked into the frame generation. The driver and everything else was really just fine, as long as you either didn’t enable Anti-Lag+ or didn’t play games with an aggressive anti-cheat. 23.10.2 addresses this:
Article Number: RN-RAD-WIN-23-10-2
AMD has received reports of some games triggering anti-cheat bans on gamers when AMD Anti-Lag+ technology is enabled on Radeon graphics. To address this, we have released the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.10.2 driver that disables Anti-Lag+ technology in all supported games, and we recommend gamers use the new driver. AMD is actively working with game developers on a solution to re-enable Anti-Lag+ and support them in reinstating gamers who were impacted by the anti-cheat bans. We will provide more information when available.
it was also a problem when FH5 launched right?
Submit support tickets. Its the only way to get this moved up the fix list.
If you’re on AMD GPU use the Beta Driver 23.30.01.02, only does the compiling shaders once then straight in to the game the next time.
For AMD users i suggest to instal driver version 23.8.2 u will not get shader optimalization every start, and no crashes when entering tuning menu
Also i suggest to use HIGH or ULTRA shadows setting, to avoid crashing when loading into tracks.
If u experiance fps drops below 60, use LOW or MEDIUM dynamic render preset and set other settings manually to high/ultra if u want good video quality. Hidden presset settings casue game to drops fps.
This worked for me. Thanks
The same issue here on a Ryzen 5 3600 with a AMD 6900 XT M2SSD and 16 GB RAM.
Also the game runs on low with 25-60fps, running on a single cpu core. Great piece of software.
