Hi Everyone!
I’ve read several forums and watched a bunch of videos, but got no success fixing my issue. The game is infinitely loading on startup, yet process manager/resource monitor shows no significant CPU/memory/disk/GPU usage.
The game is installed on a HDD, on an Asus Rog GL502VS laptop - 1070, 16GB ram, i7 6700HQ - more than capable of handling the game… Any game.
The fist time I launched FH4, everything went just right, completed some races, visited Lego Speed Champions map, free-roamed with my friend, etc. Since the second time I started the game, I got this infamous infinite loading phenomenon.
I did check for additional updates for Windows, Updated my Geforce driver to the latest, just in case, closed any and every background process, which under no circumstances in a perfect world would have anything to do with the game (Discord, Steam, some additional launchers, VPN, peripherals’ programs). I tried reinstalling the game, resetting the data, but none helped. I actually consider this quite a big issue, since I literally just got the game as a gift, by redeemable code, so I couldn’t even ask for a refund or such.
I’d be grateful for any useful advice. Thank you very much!
I think my problem was different because mine kept crashing at the splash screen, but I had to turn off MSI afterburner to get it to load up. So turn off all monitoring software just in case.
For MSI afterburner, I haven’t got the latest version installed yet (too lazy), but updating it usually solves the issue and makes them work together.
There’s an article on the Forza Support site addressing launching issues:
https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/360007593074-My-Game-is-Not-Launching-or-is-Crashing-on-PC
Make sure you’ve read that article and the 3rd party app compatibility article, and if they still haven’t addressed your issue use the link at the bottom of the articles to Submit a Ticket so the developers can investigate.
Hey guys!
Thanks for the quick replies. Will definitely try some of the official support methods I haven’t tried previously.
Then again, yesterday I waited ~20 minutes and all of the sudden a Sync window appeared, then the game went to the actual loading screens, with static images.
So it seems like the issue might be somewhat with the Xbox app not recognizing/pushing the online check to the game immediately. I can’t even think why the game was implemented in such way. The Xbox app was somewhat always clunky on my PC no matter how updated my Windows and apps were.
I’d mention again, that my Windows has all the latest updates installed, and couldn’t find any updates for Xbox app/Xbox game bar (of which there are actually two apps) on the Microsoft Store.
I’ll return with my updates ASAP. Still if anyone has had similar experiences and got the issue solved, your assistance is appreciated.
This worked for me on PC:
I didn’t remove the VIP pass (as I was afraid it would mess up the double credit thing) and it still worked.
I uninstalled everything but Fortune Island and Lego (INCLUDING VIP) and…absolutely no change. I’m convinced the update broke it (or it’s the mother and father of all coincidences).
sigh
Something tells me I won’t be getting my 2017 Alpine…
Hey everyone,
Unfortunately this issue persists and drives me crazy. I mean I am really sorry, I lose my temper, but the non-solution suggestions provided by MS support are plain BS. I want an actual solution for this issue and I want it now. I payed for my OS as well as I payed for all applications running on my PC.
My definitive issue is: the game would take random amount of time, quite long on average, like +10-20 mins to simply sync with my Xbox account on initial loading. It won’t just simply find my MS/Xbox account on startup for whatever reason. I just updated both my Windows to v 1909, all drivers up to date, Firewall disabled, Xbox (Beta), Xbox Console Companion and Xbox Game Bar updated to latest version. The only things still running on my PC are Steam, Nvidia Geforce Experience app, some Logitech/Asus peripherals’ driver apps and Discord for general communication. As a software developer I simply refuse the fact that such programs running in the background would interfere with inter-application sync. If there really would eventually be a communication port issue between programs, I want to know which ports are required. I can’t think of anything else being an issue.
Please, I’d really be grateful if anyone could eventually provide an ultimate solution for this issue, let it be devs or users who had the same issue. I don’t mind providing additional info through diagnosing tools or even being contacted by someone through remote display assistance apps. I just want my stuff to work as intended and expected.
Thank you for understanding!
Have a great holiday!
I made a quick video demonstrating the issue. It’s private, so as soon as the issue gets solved I’ll delete it, as it may contain my personal information regarding xbox game tag, system/network data.
Network problem highly similar to this.
I messaged support team, they advised me to reinstall the base game and install only Lego/Fortune Island add-ons.
I can confirm that this solution works on my side, all add-on cars are available regardless and the account sync/load time decreased to approx half/whole minute. It’s still not the best result, but hopefully dev team works on improving the sync algorithm.
Uninstalled everything, reinstalled the base game, Fortune Island and Lego. Nothing else.
Still completely stuck/broken.
Well, it’s baaaaaack. What looks to be a carbon copy of the December issue.
Will it take almost all of the next series to get resolved this time around too?
Did you update Windows? Version 2004 is rolling out. I updated and checked - F7, H3 and H4 started properly after the update, I didn’t really check any further than that. As you know YMMV

Just checked right now, and apparently my PC isn’t ready for it yet (or it isn’t ready for me PC). Will keep checking periodically. Thanks for the tip.
Mine said that too but if you download the update assistant you can force it. No problems but be careful. As always YMMV
This happened on my Xbox aswell yesterday 3 times I tried.
Seems to be working fine now but never seen it happen before
Game loaded fine for the last two weeks of Series 23 (so I was able to get the Toyotas). Series 24 rolls around and what do you know? Broken again!
This is starting to get old…
