[PC] I'm not seeing the October 10th update

Did the October 10th update go out to everyone? I’m still on 1.107.1807.2, I believe the update changed the version to 1.107.5368.2. The store app doesn’t find any updates for Forza 7.

My game is unplayable. It consistently crashes when trying to start any race. This started after the first update dropped, and I was waiting for the next update to arrive to see if the issue is resolved. I plan on starting a separate topic for the crashes i’m seeing when I get home from work tonight (so I have access to crash information).

Mine is 1.107.5368.2. maybe try to reset the store, or logging out of the store account and log back in.

Try WSRESET to reset the store.

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks,

I tried WSRESET and logging out of the store and back in and neither worked.

Any other suggestions?

The update made mine worse. My replays go blank now and I have to shut down the game and I have more hitching in menus.

@juiceman, i’ll give you a bunch of things to try.

Method : The Troubleshooter for Windows Apps
Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store - Microsoft Support

Method : Resetting the Apps through Windows Settings
Start - Settings (Cogwheel Icon) - Apps & Features - Store - Advanced options - Reset

Method : KB4041676 Windows-Update
Manual Download Link below : (Delta is incremental update, you’ll probably want the full Cumulative update).

Microsoft Update Catalog

Method : Turning Firewall on for all Profiles through Command Prompt (Admin)
Right click Start - Command Prompt (Admin)
and type “netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on”

Method : Delete Windows-Update SoftwareDistribution Folder in Windows Safe-Mode
Right click Start - Shut down or Sign out - Restart (and hold the Shift button while clicking Restart)
This will open a blue menu with Options

Startup Settings - 6) Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt

In Command Prompt type the following :

net stop bits
net stop wuauserv
rename %windir%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak
net start bits
net start wuauserv

Reboot your PC back into normal Windows 10 mode

Additional Notes : Make sure that the “AppReadiness” and “AUInstallAgent” folders exists in “C:\Windows” , if they are not there, create them.

Method : Windows 10 Corruption Scanning
Right click Start - Command Prompt (Admin)

sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Method : Create a new Windows Account
Start button, Settings - Accounts - Family & other people - Add someone else to this PC.
Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

Good luck.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, unfortunately none of them worked.

I did resolve the issue, however. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. That wasn’t easy as the install was clearly corrupt - the store and control panel wouldn’t let me uninstall the game. I had to resort to manually removing registry keys, taking ownership of folders/files and deleting them, and removing entries from the state repository on the machine.

I now have the latest version installed, but I still get the same consistent crash so I’ll be starting another thread for that issue.

Thanks again guys.

What entries are those? just curious.

The entries for the game packages in the Package table. The names were decorated, but has ApolloBaseGame in the text.
