Option to apply Spec BoP in Freeplay/Private Multiplayer

With the new Touring Car BoP using % based modifiers, as Proto-H and some GT cars, in Featured Multiplayer, it is no longer possible to recreate these cars outside of Featured. I recommend the ability to apply the Featured BoP in freeplay and private.

This allows people to test and tune cars outside of Featured as well a providing a single player option. In fact, there probably should be a career Spec BoP tour where players who don’t do Multiplayer can experience the cars in that form. Being able to tube your car and get used to performance differences in freeplay is incredibly useful for players dedicating themselves to learning a division.

The biggest reason though is testing. Especially with T10 admitting they are using feedback from Insiders to help balance the cars. Testing in featured Multiplayer is incredibly difficult to do because of the changing conditions. Freeplay and private provide the ability to isolate conditions and tracks to collect consistent data. Not only that, there is a community of top players on Forzaverse that also provide feedback on live BoP. Freeplay and private multiplayer would smooth out that process.

Surprised there wasn’t a thread on this already, it would be of massive benefit to people for numerous reasons:

  • All players could try out cars in a “safe” environment before having enough confidence to take on Featured Multiplayer

  • League and community organisers could run a much wider range of events without having to create their own BoP systems and some sort of honour system to ensure fairness.

  • Players who missed out on a Featured Series or want to continue enjoying it after it’s left can have an easy way to create those races.

  • Players who enjoyed a Featured Multiplayer series but want to try it with different tracks, race lengths or weather conditions could run those.

  • Tuners would have a better way to test cars throughout the year than to wait for a series to be live.

I reckon the way for this to function in the menu would be to have two sets of filters in the car restrictions tab:

  • Division (Open): This is the Division filter we currently have, just filters cars with no spec limits applied. Players can use other car restriction filters to granulate their ruleset.

  • Division (Spec): This is the list of performance-balanced Divisions Turn 10 has in the game. Setting this to anything other than Any would grey out the Open field (and pretty much every other car restriction field too) and instead apply the spec functionality here.

I was surprised too. Heck, i thought i had already made one, but i hadn’t.

And it’s always driven me nuts i couldn’t test other rising spec divisions unless it was live. I think the GTX has modifiers as well as we know Proto-H does.

I strongly support the option to apply Spec Balance of Power (BoP) in Freeplay modes. This would open up new possibilities for players to enjoy a more balanced and diverse experience, allowing for a wider range of vehicles to be used effectively and fairly. It would enhance the fun and competitiveness of Freeplay sessions, where players have more freedom to explore and experiment.

Forgive me but what does BoP mean??

Balance of performance. In Forza it means the locked build and behind the scenes % based modifiers to cars to make them close in performance.

This thread lists the update 17 modifiers as published for TC cars in the release notes. Note that they redid the builds too of many of the cars. Forza Touring Cars - February 2025 Balance Update - #60 by X3R_Monkey

Ah yes that makes so much sense now. Yes omg I actually feel the % when I do tuning and such. It’s nice to have an actual name for it. Thanks so much dude. Kudos :100:

Car divisions need BOP(balance of performance) in private multiplayer like they have in Featured Multiplayer. They were balanced to a degree in FM7 using the PI system, but it would be nice to have the BOP that is used in Featured Multiplayer to be used in Private Multiplayer.

Right now, the only way to “balance” divisions in multiplayer is up the host using PI and then having to make separate groups just for each car that can be tedious and confusing to those joining the private lobby.

Bumping and voting.

Now that we have a Tyre Wear multiplier, I have ideas for a number of special events with my small community.

Unfortunately any involving Forza GT would require a lot of performance balancing, and I would rather have an option that applies Spec Series balancing to all cars.

It would be great, by setting a car division in private multiplayer, to have an option to enable or disable BOP.

Worth merging so that votes are combined.

You found it, though mine includes freeplay. Definitely worth them being combined.
