Only 450 tunes can be saved when the game has 500 Cars

It doesn’t matter, word of mouth can make or break a game. Those 5% of players are on forums everywhere helping people out, discussing the game, and developing the game’s online presence. That has a major impact on bringing casual gamers into a game. They read a suggestion on a forum somewhere, watch a YouTube video, hear from a friend that they know etc.

If a developer can’t satisfy their core fanbase, which in this case are people who are deeply invested in car culture, then their game will fail. Everything starts with the core, that’s where they need to focus their energy.

It’s where casual gamers are converted to hardcore gamers, or where people who like cars take their passion to the next level by learning from more experienced car people.

Yeah I agree but it’s sad to say that I think they don’t want to satisfy 5% of the playerbase. They prefer to satisfy 95% of the playerbase instead of 5%. (I hope you understand my opinion)

I’m tired of deleting old tunes nearly weekly so I can just add that amount back in for new tunes and then do it all again next week. Its a chore to go through and find and then decide which ones I no longer need or can maybe recreate if I need to in the future.

Not for nothing, but if there was a proper tune management tool where I could see and bulk manage tunes all in one place, at least it would be easier, faster and less of a chore… and keep those pesky auto-saves trimmed down easier.

But ultimately, just remove the limit.

There is no need for a limit at all. It’s just text values, not some blob of a couple GBs each. And if it is, they’re doing it wrong.

So come on… just remove the limit for tunes and be done with it!

Thanks!

Yeah, it makes sense, but a lot of the people who follow the game closely on here aren’t casual players. They came out and said that their focus is on the casual player, and that they wouldn’t listen to us completely for marketing reasons. It was a mistake.

In this case it feels like they just don’t speak car guy language, which is big when making a game like this. Gran Turismo was made by a car guy for car guys, this game lacks the effort it once had. It was made by a casual for casuals.

It’s like being in a friend group full of yes men and you keep hearing from people who like you that you’re making a bad decision but you make it anyway. All you can tell yourself is that there were warning signs and that you should’ve paid attention.

It’s difficult to make an analogy. All I can say is there’s a language barrier here. People who don’t even know how to drive at the limit are telling me about squat, dive, and roll center, and driving at the limit, on tires that they themselves don’t understand at all.

There’s none of that in GT7 because Yamauchi knows how to drive. That says enough.

Yeah but sadly…casual is majority and the game know it. The first thing the game learn to you is how to follow the visible racing lines (Brake here, throttle here, slow here). It’s good to allow to very casual player to play the game.

And I like to say that GT is made for cars fan and Forza for the other because on Forza… I don’t know if it’s me or what but I don’t feel any passion about cars in Forza

Do T10 even know what improvements PGG already did?
Shouldn’t Microsoft have some interest that T10 and PGG do some codesharing?

I’d love to hear why there isn’t codesharing. Why Motorsport and Horizon all of a sudden split from each other in some aspects.

Here we go again, another 20 mins of clearing out saves.

Why would t10 spend 20 minutes optimizing their code when their users can spend 20 minutes organizing files every few months instead :face_exhaling:

open this up to 1000 or more. autosaves should be optional too. should have the ability to turn it off.

this should go for liveries/vinyls too. still can’t import from FH5 because of the low limit

After i save my tune to what ever… say A1… I have no problem deleting auto save.

Im at the point now that I have resorted to renaming and sharing the autosave file to allow me to share more new tunes. The problem is that now I’m so far over the limit it wont be easy to clear enough out to get back below the limit to be able to save tunes freely.
Also when you are over the limit like this you can not download others tunes.

This whole cloud saving causes so many issues. Tunes, paints, replays now photos are bug all because of it.

@MikeJoe1990 , clear evidence this game was built on the foundation of not just of FM7 but on an earlier build of FM7 even.

For a next gen console they surely should have expanded the memory base the game capabilities. That also shows the final release of the game we got in October was a rush to market product with very very little forethought. And of course we all know very very very little testing.

And yes the extra “very’s” were intentional.

I posted about this months ago and still no change.

Can tell its gone to the dogs when you cant even see how many hours you’ve driven for/podiums, race wins feats etc… they need to take a hard look at what FM4 had as standard and start implementing that in modern games. Storefronts, gifting tunes/cars, car clubs, overall leaderboard times, car club leaderboards its all there. just transfer the code over and update it to work with what we have.

also bring back bloody permanent hoppers! I race the classes I want. I dont wanna race X class and P class… you’d 100% have more playerbase if you let them play the game they want. Either that or make a way for private races to become searchable like they used to be in forza 2,3,4… one step forward 20 back

Is there a Suggestions Hub post we can vote on, that would be more productive than this thread here.

I don’t understand why the file limit is so low.

Quite ridiculous, I have about 4 tunes for just one car depending on the class. Does that mean after around 50 cars that is it? My tunes will no longer save?
Why can’t at least the tunes be saved locally? I mean, how big could the file possible be?
