Online League Info released

I figure at this point whatever system they’re using to determine dirty drivatars is coming into effect here too. There’s a /lot/ of telemetry the system is doubtlessly using to pick apart the good from the bad.

To try and clear things up. (At least to my understanding)

League will (by the sound of it) Be a weekly thing, like a once a week championship. A Special hopper that’s is only up for a set amount of time.

There will be the regular hoppers like we’ve had.

The player grouping will be across ALL hoppers, not just the League races.

We will still be able to make private custom lobbies. They won’t be searchable though.

In laymans terms, it’ll be just like 5 is with the addition of the special weekly league hopper.

This sounds abit restrictive if they are predetermined cars/tracks for each league. While that can be fun in itself I hope it would be just a set car and class and allow different builds and tunes within the structure.

Also if there is not a general lobbies like we have had since forever (A,S,R,B,D etc…) That would be a completely terrible decision.

They really need to explain how this works better eesh.

My best guess on this league points or xp scoring is it will probably be like FH2 club leaderboard. If you score so many points in a weeks time you will be rewarded with prize A B or C, or if you finish in the top 1% of XP scored for that week for that league, you will receive Credits based on what % you finish. Just a guess.

  1. I figure they will have regular hoppers along with the league stuff as a separate option for multiplayer racing
  2. This sounds like LB car heaven with lots of issues to go along with it as to collisions and cause of contact, etc. (hopefully not)
  3. Based on some of the info described, I see FM2 Tourneys as a possibility. It would be wonderful to see them back
  4. I hope this works well, as we all do I’m sure.

I’m also betting there will be regular multiplayer lobbies, if you just want to race a certain class and be able to invite friends and such.

On some of those menus that were shown earlier, wasn’t there both league and multiplayer screens,i’m sure I seen them both.

On the surface this is looking promising but as Dust says, a restrictive window of gameplay, or to put it another way, T10 saying “you may play the game now for this long” does seem restrictive and would not be a good idea imho. For now though, it is sounding better than I had envisaged, hopefully there will be some more detailed info released about this mode.

Spectate mode - hallelujah!! About time too and a god send for media teams of racing leagues to record racing and race info for later transmission; well done T10.

This looks interesting, could be very fun! What i don’t see yet is if they will also have playground goofy stuff having it’s own lobbies. Racing is number 1 sure but the fun zany stuff was just as good and so far there’s not a peep about it. It’s good the leak of info has begun finally!

I see no reason why we wouldn’t still have hoppers for casual racing, playground games, drift lobbies etc.

You would think. I guess a confirmation would stop the worry. haha

Grid Autosport has a similar temperament system. It gives you bad rep even if you are not at cause. Hopefully Turn10 gets this right, but it seems a VERY hard task to do!

I think it will be alright. Think about it: Even if you get a bad rep with every crash you’re involved without being the cause of it, crashkids will have a way worse rep. So i think it will work just fine. Keep clean and everything will be alright

In GRID it was not that bad because the clean drivers get back to a clean rating anyway. They may look bad for a race or two if somneone trolls them but everyones normal behaviour ended up influencing their rating rather than “racing incidents”.

Well I read the posting by T10 and leagues are just another multiplayer option. You don’t have to do leagues if you don’t want to.

It also sounds like there will be leagues at times that are restrictive on car selection which leads me to believe that not all leagues will be leaderboard heaven. We’ll actually have to run new stuff.

This may turn out to be the best place to find good racing and may turn off those who only want to race leaderboard cars in lobbies.

I like the sound of the leagues, if they work as intended they will be excellent! (maybe not so much for the crashers, but i don’t care about them just as long as they aren’t in my races)

The league open times are a worry though, i wont be able to jump on FM6 and race leagues whenever i like…

If there are normal hoppers along with the leagues which also group by player skill etc… it might not be such a problem.

Can’t blame the devs for trying anyway. Worst case scenario is everyone just gets lumped into the bottom category because they’ve scraped their paint at one point or another. :stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s see how it goes.

We’ll have to see how it plays out, but I really hope these leagues don’t bring out that bad overcompetitive spirit. Being that they are temporary, one gets one chance to move up in any particular league comp… an accidental crash may cause a lot of lobby saltiness.

-I also feel for the guys, like me, who will probably not have a consistent enough gaming schedule to ever utilize the leagues. I’m sure the scheduling will be adjusted as they track the stats.

-The leagues may support LB cars at the higher levels, but if you enjoy driving the ‘slower cars’ (or just aren’t as fast, but safe and steady), it should still be fun to compete within your league against ‘lower skilled’ players in their LB cars if that makes any sense. There is a chance for occasional smurfing possibly though. That will probably be a trap I accidentally fall into. That actually could be interesting.

-Day one of any league should be very interesting as well LOL

-I hope that the standard community hoppers have some of the same temperment tracking, for those of us who just want to jump in a particular class with any car, have light, clean and fun competition.

-Good on them for attempting a system that tries to address some of these concerns that are inherent to the game, you have to start somewhere. I predict the standard lobbies will still be the main multiplayer hub, so perhaps what is learned from the leagues will transfer over eventually, so they we can feel safe with lobbies as a consistent enjoyable home to play in how/as we wish.

I hope to see screenshots of the multiplayer menu’s. Do you think they’ll be more information released this week? I still feel like outside of the cars and tracks there isn’t much info out on the game.

I mean what else is there? It’s pretty much Forza 5 with more content and a league multiplayer system.
