October 14 content update - 7pm Pacific

While I applaud the patch… I still see the Severe Oversteer problem hasn’t been addressed… nor the Uber AI ( usually line up Drivers) driving like road gods… riding on rails and using nitrous to catch up and fly past you.

Guess it’s still play offline for most races.

R.I.P. Drift tap abusers xD

But i do question why the reduced xp on banked skill chains? 12k was already prettt low as it was?

All other patches are great.

What patch? I’m on PC, no patch here. What are you guys talking about?

Was just going to try the drift tap method for XP grinding this afternoon, guess that won’t happen now, lol. Back to good ol’ Goliath.

Probably hasn’t reached you yet. You can go check out the changelog on the main site.

As was I. Don’t see why they didn’t either leave it as is, or remove the XP and all that of those who “abused” it. Seems a little unfair that only those who had the chance to “abuse” the window of opportunity that was available for this get the benefits of it.

You don’t see why they removed it? Because grinding a wall, isn’t exactly drift tapping it now is it?

Drift tap clearly wasn’t working as intended, so they gave it a cooldown timer.

It was a needed fix

Would have been nice if they fixed drift tap (take skill) opposed to wall grind (drift tap) which didn’t. It been nice to fix wall grinding and not penalize the ones that can do it (not me yet)

Also what is up with reduce skill XP?!? It’s probably to balance out the freakin online adventure XP championship is it. I can not believe that they would be so stupid if that is the case. I am going to blow my lid!!!

The fix is needed, but they went way overboard:

  • A 5-second cooldown on drift taps would drastically reduce the efficiency of drift tap farming, a 10-second delay would stop it dead on its tracks. 30 seconds is total overkill and may affect normal gameplay.
  • The skill chain banking nerf makes no sense at all when there’s already the drift tap cooldown change.

Re-read my post. I can see why it was fixed, yet so many people used the window of opportunity and get to keep the benefits from it, might as well just leave it in at that point seeing as the window was so large.

They are only higher level, no other real benefit since it was xp they earned. A higher level doesn’t give them anything special. So no need to remove their xp. Plus we all reap from the benefits of them having done that, turn10 saw it, and fixed it.

There were methods that didn’t involve grinding a wall, however. Used the tunnel for example, and just tapped from one side to the other repeatedly.

Theres no patch for me either and I’ve just checked on the windows store downloads and updates

What patch? Is it the one dealing with the issue of design creators not being rewarded for their creations?Edit: No mention of designs, but I may have to go back to XP boost cars instead of skill boost cars thanks to this patch.

Set the rear differential deacceleration value to about 90%. Sounds stupid, I know, but does wonders o.O

I only got severe oversteer when I set the handling / steering to simulation. When I set it to normal theres no severe oversteer.

At least we will get different HE cars on the spins after the patch!

That’s not confirmed, unless someone has a source saying otherwise?

It’s in the update notes, they removed all the 11 cars we had and put 7 different ones:
-BAC Mono Horizon Edition
-Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Horizon Edition
-Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV Horizon Edition
-Mercedes C 63 AMG Coupé Black Series Horizon Edition
-MG Metro 6R4 Horizon Edition
-MINI Cooper S Horizon Edition
-Subaru Impreza 22B STi Horizon Edition

From: News - Forza

I don’t really know how to feel about this, I like the idea of the cars rotating, but trading 11 for 7 is kind of odd.

It is confirmed, look at the news page on this site. Old HE cars removed from spins replaced by a new set

That’s odd, I have done the update and I have just won the BMW M3 HE…
