Not-So-Final (Apparently) car list revealed

I hear ya. Gonna keep my preorder but since it’s hard copy, I’m not cracking it until I see how it plays in the hands of non free-game-getting “journalists”, unless A) the day-one list is full of unreal cars that I just can’t miss (which is VERY UNLIKELY considering T10’s track record with FM7 thus far) or B) there are some Forzathons in the early days that reward me with cars I actually care about. That way, I can return it if necessary.

Maybe they include the Hoonigan Pack
Did they say anything about the day one pack?

Probably did include the Hoonigan pack. Nothing about the day one pack yet.

Unlike some people in here… no toys being thrown by me… Still getting the Ultimate Edition and not much has changed in my anticipation of the game since the announcement of it happening.

Yeah, there aren’t as many brand new flashy shiny cars as I expected and there are a few missing that i’d have liked to race… But i’m happy with what i’m be getting when the game is released.

It’s cool, you can name me. I’m just hugely bummed from what I’ve seen. I’ve played Forza since I was a kid, and now I can help but feel I want more from the game. Other games are hitting it, Forza is to a certain extent.

I don’t want to throw my toys out of the pram, I just want to enjoy Forza and get some answers to the whole Toyota saga thing. No TS040 is a huge blow for me. Seeing that finally in Forza 6 was amazing…

Same here.

There are multiple reasons why they don’t update the cars to their modern versions:

Tune/Livery importing - if you want to be able to carry over your tunes and designs into Forza 7, they need to include the cars that you made them for. P Cars doesn’t allow this, so they can update the cars.

Efficiency - it’s a lot easier for them to pump out a new game every two years if they already have most of the coding for the cars figured out.

Familiarity - although most people don’t notice it, they prefer being able to drive cars they are familiar with. More often than not when jumping into a new game they’ll buy cars they had in the previous game first.

Our only hope for new cars will be in dlc’s. This is just what Forza is now.

Sorry to say it like that, but none of the 3 reasons makes sense… If they want to keep the old cars they just keep them and add the new ones, like they did with the the Formula E and (somehow) with the V8 Supercars or the 919.

They can’t just keep adding new cars without removing some old ones.

Why? They can announce those 34 new, shiny, amazing cars for those of us who actually want to know. And then you can ignore that announcement, gives you the option of being surprised when you launch the game for the first time.

And why would that be?

Sure. Why should Turn10 remove old cars? What is their benefit if they remove cars?

To keep the game at a modest size? It takes data to add more cars, no matter how small. If they just kept the previous car roster and added 200-300 new cars + dlc’s the game would be enormous.

I doubt many would be complaining too much about that if it meant more new cars over recycled cars. The obvious part of that being there wouldn’t be the need to bring back cars from 4 games ago if they never left the roster, and more effort could be put into modelling and getting the licenses to more new to series cars. Of course there would still be cars that would go missing for a few games because of licensing (e.g. VW and Toyota) though.

And what’s wrong with that? Lol. I didn’t expect them to go in that fashion but maybe if they cut a couple dozen cars say 30 and added 100 new ones never before been in forza and also brought in some cars from older games, then that would have been better. But they seem to have cut 40-50 cars and only brought in 10 new ones? That’s subpar.

I never said they were doing a good job at it. That’s probably one of the reason they’re doing it, though.

I for one do not want a single Forza game taking up a third of my hard drive. I want new cars as much as the next guy but I do understand why Turn 10 is doing this.

I will agree that it’s disappointing how they didn’t bring back any cars from the old games. I honestly expected them to bring back a few.

Huh? They have added several cars from older games though, example 2012 zl1, e60 m5, zr1 R.

As Manteo Max posted we are up at least 240 cars from Forza 6 so how does that come up with cutting 40-50 cars to add 10 new ones…if anything they brought back 230 old ones and added 10 new ones.
You can’t cut 40-50 and add 10 back and end up with 240 more cars in the game…just saying.

That´s not a problem. Forza 7 already has 100GB due to 4K, so why should they matter about some cars? The more content, the better it sells. The main reason for the size of Forza are the Tracks and the Graphics, not mainly the cars.

So Forza 7 is four new tracks plus all the DLC and new cars from Horizon 3, basically. Minus Toyota. Plus new weather/time settings for tracks.

Eh.

It might just about get a standard purchase from me depending how well received the career/free play is by early access users.

What’s the fourth track? I only count 3. 1 actual new one (Dubai) and 2 “new” ones (Maple Valley and Suzuka).
