Great to see these IMSA GTO/GTP/Group C cars back as they are beautiful looking cars and made for some interesting races in free play in FM6

2017 Formula E #11 ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport FE02
2017 Formula E #28 MS Amlin Andretti ATEC-02
2017 Formula E #33 Techeetah Z.E. 16
2017 Formula E #47 Panasonic Jaguar Racing I-Type 1
2017 Formula E #9 Renault e.Dams Z.E 16

I hope these cars have not this sudden oversteer as the 2015 FE cars did in FM6

2017 Renault R.S.17

And hopefully the F1 car is easier to drive this time without Assists

Well that was underwhelming, many duplicate cars, many popular cars either removed or likely forked over to forzathononly available for a few days at a time or DLC (many of which will probably be cars Available to us on disk in the xb1 games before this), combine that was few new tracks, limited info on the game is why Im not pre ordering and seeing how the game is after release this time having (granted Ive been a bit forzad out lately), the List is decent but really lackluster hardly a jump vs FM6, you’d think rivals like Pcars, would have pushed it a bit

This honestly feels like fm5 in the fact that the development time was put towards making the game functional on the Xb1 X and hoping folk will still buy due to the forza name over adding to the core game

The situation with porsche also bothers me, porsche was supposedly their big seller but we only have the new GT2 RS for show and likely many news ones to the franchise both new and old coming in via DLC calling it

They need to turn things around soon

On a more positive note Im happy the Sauber C8 is back why it was in Fm5 or 6 is anyones guess things a monster

I would’ve hoped for the Hot Wheels cars to come over…

I mean, they recycled like 95% of everything else…

Just horrible.

And they will also probably just copy paste the split-screen from FM5 and FM6. No Drivatars and no rain/night racing for two players.

I don’t see what all the fuss is about…

T10 can only commit so many hours to modeling new vehicles/tracks. They have already added a handful, and we are bound to get more as DLC. In my opinion, this “recycled content” is done a lot better than other companies have in the past (remember the low-poly models in GT5-6?). T10 makes sure that the vehicles they choose are up to their standard, and I believe most times they see refurbishing old assets as more time-efficient than going out and scanning all-new cars.

All this talk about, “All hope is lost.” and, “I’m cancelling my preorder.” is just silly to me, especially if it’s because the diversity of the vehicles is not quite up to your standards. I’ve seen this series evolve since FM2, and T10 has never failed to deliver in the diversity dept. Personally, I’m more concerned about how the game flows, and the addition of special features like revamped leagues, the auction house and forzathon. Those are my priorities, but hey, to each their own.

That being said, I am, however, confused about the addition of offroad vehicles. Here’s hoping we will eventually see some rally tracks. PG has certainly done their due diligence in creating the right atmosphere for them. T10 could learn some things there.

See, that’s the thing, TDM. You’re lucky in that you’re the type of player that T10 is gunning for – MP mostly, eSports, AH, #communityallthethings and so forth. What you have to understand is there are a lot of us here (not saying you’re not a Forza vet, but bear with me) that have played the game since its inception, seen it grow – mostly in good ways, save for FM5 – and are now seeing it morph into something so far removed from why we loved it in the first place. Back in the day, FM was ahead of the curve in its cars to the point a petrolhead like myself – that now works in the car industry – was getting surprised by what they were including. Now, it’s as predictable as the 1st and the 15th, and that’s just not cool.

Of course he did. I’m sure name-dropping the thing as many times as possible in his “interviews” with “journalists” was clause #1 in this so-called “six-year agreement” they have with Porsche. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if the main thing – the ONLY thing, perhaps – about this “agreement” is the Xbox/MS sponsorship that’s going to be plastered all over Porsche’s Formula E racer next year.

Things have gone pretty wrong when this is being argued as a positive.

Things have gone pretty wrong when this is being argued as a negative:

Forza Motorsport 7: 700 cars
Forza Motorsport 6: 460 cars
Forza Motorsport 5: 200 cars
Project Cars 2: 180 cars
GT Sport: 150 cars

When I only see myself driving 12 of those cars regularly – and they’re all from FM6 – then yeah, it’s a negative because quality over quantity. To me, “700” means absolutely nothing at all. I’d rather have a game with 20 of 50 total cars I really like, as opposed to 688 of 700 I don’t ever see myself driving.

Darn tootin’ they have.

New is a relative term. To those of us that have played previous FM games, before the XBone, some of it may not seem that new. To people that started with FM5 or FM6, a good bit of the content is new and it’s all new to PC players.

It won’t fail, not with the PC market involved now.

I hope this game fails hard so they realize they can’t just keep putting a coat of paint on the old stuff and call it “new”. The total lack of new stuff in this game is horrible. I’m so dissapointed.

Not much new cars when you look at the list in total. I already had this feeling during an interview with Dan Greenawalt recently.
They asked them which new cars he was most excited about. He only mentioned the Gt2RS and after that he talked about being excited about a lot of variety in the carlist…

Double post. please delete.

Smoothroller Where I may not think the car list is the greatest I also own the original Project Cars and it is a paperweight for me. I have spent several hours trying to get it to feel at least believable and failed miserably. I have not played it much at all and when I was playing I was trying to get it to work. I am not optimistic about Project Cars 2 but I still have it pre ordered. If I had a better expierience with the original Project Cars I may feel differently but that’s not the case for me. My go to racing game is Forza and my next favorite is Assetto Corsa but a lot of bugs and other issues make it my #2 choice.
Project Cars 2 can still get a fair amount of my racing time but they will have to earn it.
I saw a video of so do E racing in the rain on PC2 and from what I saw the game physics looked off and there was a video of someone driving an open wheel car on the ring in the snow and that looked very arcadish too but I am not going to judge till I try it for myself. I am hopeful that it does not become another paperweight for me.

Sad to see the Haas F1 car is not in the list. I figured it’d be in the game at launch due to Haas F1 suits having the Microsoft logo on them. But we need a more diversified modern Grand Prix lineup. The FM5 2013 Lotus E21 was removed in Forza 6 and replaced with just the 2015 Lotus E23, and now the Lotus E23 is gone to make way for the Renault RS17. And what, no Renault RS.01 GT racer?!

I will be playing it on PC so naturally I have no issue with the car list.

Whilst the list lacks new-to-forza cars and new cars in general, it is still one of the most comprehensive and diverse in any generation. Dare I say, it is practically the GT5 of this gen. Using Nissan as just one example, we have all the R chassis Skylines bar the R30 and all S chassis bar the S10-S12. Adding to that, some absolutely brilliant cars like the E60 M5 will finally return.

Viewing it from an online perspective, we’ll be getting 6 additional tracks in the hoppers and new/returning widebody kits. These kits will give cars that are lacking in tire size a boost in versatility. E.g. In B class, muscle cars with wide tires, forza aero and V8s are king. Well not anymore in FM7. At least not definitively as it is now. Heck, this could further broaden the classes which cars could be competitive in.

I for one am excited and curious to see which cars would be getting these kits and how it would be implemented in a racing environment.
