So, er, where are the Toyotas? (Apart from that Hilux).

For this old doofus… what’s new in that list and anyone know where the Toyota’s went?

Unfortunately there is no new model.
The car list announced this time is FM6 + FH3, and the rest are models that reappeared from past Forza.

For goodness sakes. At this point, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that the new car count to FM7 at launch is going to be miniscule, and in a total affront to buyers of the game, the new stuff – stuff we have been requesting for EONS – is going to be left to DLC, if we’re lucky. I am absolutely fuming right now. There’s a new MX-5 Cup car (and they cut the best Miata they’ve ever had in the series – the MX-5 Superlight – from the game, it seems). There’s a new STI and NONE OF THEM ARE ON THIS GODFORSAKEN LIST. And I don’t even care about JDM; I just want to see something new.

EDIT: I’m sorry for my tone but I seem to be getting less and less enthused which each week’s subsequent list. I really, really have a hard time seeing how this isn’t FM6-plus. In this age of planned obsolescence in the video game world, I guess I’m not surprised.

The 2017 GT-R is in this list.

This isn’t the entire car list, there are still more coming. People need to stop being so condescending and pessimistic and assuming that because a car isn’t on the reveal list for that week doesn’t mean it isn’t in the game. NFS is not anywhere near Forza, Forza has let you change bumpers and hoods, long before NFS did. People need to stop comparing Forza to NFS, it’s not competition for Forza in its current iteration…

Oh, but it is. It absolutely is. When you think of the racing games available on the Xbox, you realize there aren’t that many and the pie is not that big. Every slice counts, and that includes the slices being eaten by NFS players.

Having said that: you are correct in saying I was being condescending (and the GT-R thing), and as you can see, I’ve changed my original post. Still, though: I find it hard to believe that the majority around here aren’t feeling the same way as me. I just can’t get past this nagging feeling that T10 has audited its collection of car models, packaged as many together as they could fit on-disk, and have basically gone gold with it. The beauty of DLC is it essentially adds 6 months-plus to their release window.

This, unfortunately:

No Supra? Yawn…

This may not be the entire JDM list, so chill out.

Not yet

The Starion should be cool and there’s a lot to like here. Just… not a whole lot that makes me think “Wow, I want to upgrade from Forza 6 right away!”

The omission of Toyota is especially odd too. At least thanks to the Hilux announced in a previous week we know it’s not a Volkswagen situation.

Notes

  • 77 cars announced today
  • Some Nissans were announced previously
  • Japanese makes only, so Hyundai was not included
  • Only one Toyota - the Arctic Truck - was listed
  • No new-to-Forza cars announced this week
  • 3 were last seen in FH2
  • 4 return from the Xbox 360 days
  • 11 are new-to-Motorsport on Xbox One

Edit: Nevermind, I was wrong.

Expected, but meh. I really do not care much for any JDM, but fully understand that quite a few do.

My beloved Starion and B4 Legacy return.
