All wheel drive swaps and the 1500hp motor swap should not be a thing. Every time I go to the drag strip it’s flooded with all these awd 1500hp swapped cars. It’s stupid, your camaro should not be awd with a v12! This ruins drag racing in the game. Please Turn 10 please do not allow this in the next game!!!
i agree…going all power is fine but keep it rwd and atleast have to earn your way to the finish line…i.e. no tcs either
Yes it would be nice to have proper drag races where throttle control matters. And having realistic car builds would be nice too. Now it’s all about finding a car that will let itself upgrade to win with everything else. Very simplistic and arcade way of things. Maybe have a drag meets for non swapped cars (stock engine plus stock drivetrain). Don’t mind blowers and turbos as they fit in with real world ways of building cars (yes I know there are made swaps like in game existing in real world). Fed up ending up in drag races against people that just dump every possible part in the shop on a car. Same goes with racing. Try starting an American class race online, nobody wants to know By the way don’t be shy to add me if you in similar mind set

Please keep this and other drag threads going! I’ve been writing what I can to get people talking about getting proper drag racing in at least one of the forza games. Theres no reason there can’t be at least Class based lobbies, maybe AWD and a RWD Lobby. Actual drag upgrades, working tree, proper tire sizes and compounds.
Need for Speed Pro Street was and is the only good console drag game. So sad, it’s been what 15 years or so? Come on, Turn 10!
Can you change the title the – also I would preface it with having RWD EVENTS / and class limited HP events.
Drag isn’t my thing at all. Only time you’ll see me there is when my OCD reels its ugly head and I need to be there for an achievement or challenge. That’s not to say I wouldn’t join a group of friends and have a go at it. Just won’t see me in Car meet more then I have to. Which this last time was a single race in Caterham – then out to get some PR stunts higher and some racing in.
They could just make an option. Say you want to setup a drag race, you set drivetrain type to “RWD Only” and “No Motor Swaps Allowed” So when you get to the car selection screen, the vehicles would be filtered by those restrictions. Seems easy enough to implement, it’s just a matter of them doing it.
EDIT: To the guy who said no TCS allowed, if you are using TCS in Forza you are only hurting yourself. You can get way better launches without it. That goes with circuit racing as well, the assists completely take away the feeling of the car.
yes notice i said no tcs which would imply im not in favor of it being used …so as happy for u that i am having found a cause u can rally behind ur preaching to the choir;)
Hey!! You guys that are talking about drag racing. I started a thread, sorry don’t know how to put in a link, in General Gaming that is about trying to get a proper drag racing game made. Be it something added to the Forza Games or somebody else stepping up to fill the gap. Jump on that thread and voice your opinion, please.
If theres ever gonna be something that is any close to what so many talk about in the forums for drag racing, we need to show its more than just a couple people that want it!!
I’m curious as to how we got to this junction anyway. In H1 and previous FM games, engine/drivetrain swaps were - with some exceptions - limited to proven or conjectural possibilities within a particular make’s lineup. Hypothetical case in point, a Falcon XR8 could swap out its V8 for the GT350R’s because they’re both Fords and their engines are sufficiently similar as to require relatively mild adaptation. Or the S2000 or Civic could swap out their OEM four-banger for one of either a different series or the Honda/Acura JV6s because there are actually streetable examples of both in the real world, built by hobbyists. I can even live with many of the 6.2L V8 swaps in non-GM cars because the GM small-block is a popular project engine option that has been utilized in such a fashion for decades.
Conversely, most of these Lamborghini powertrain swaps are ridiculous. There’s no precedent for most of the applications; the Lamborghini V12 engine/transmission combination are quite large, and as such, you’re not going to slide it into just anything without extensive custom fabrication to the receiving car and the powertrain. And when some of the prospects (i.e., Camaro) can make comparable power with their original engine architecture, if not the original engine for far less effort, why would you? I get that Horizon is meant to offer escapist adventure, but I would also like to see the conversions become a little more grounded.
Agreed completely. I think it was FM2 and I think 3 that had, for example, the '69 Charger had the 426, 440, I think even the 383 but I know the 1st 2.
I will say that at the very least the Hellcat engine IS the Hellcat 707hp in the 6.2 DSC upgrade for Dodge. The 5.8 DSC is the 662hp Trinity. I am only guessing the 6.2 GM upgrade is the LS.
I can’t stand everything ending up with the Lambo V12. Those conversions are a novel at best build for SEMA or other car shows. As you said, these V8’s that are being built these days can easily achieve the same HP as a V12.
I’d love to see some more thought or creativity with the upgrade system all together. Still hoping some day to have some drag specific and drift specific upgrade parts available. Actual big block V8s and giant turbos/NOS. Hand brakes and extreme camber/steering (I’m not a drifter so I don’t know what they’d want or need). Something that’s actually new to the franchise would be cool, not so much the window dressing stuff, wheel spins and mod cards, but substance like new suspension, engine, tire upgrades. Body mods.
At least we have what we have. I just know my drag racing will still be getting done on FM6. This AWD V12 thing isn’t for me.
The game is supposed to be more arcade like. Its not Motorsport. I like being able to v12 swap a 50s car cause its hilarious. I say keep it.
I Don’t go to the drags like @PervasiveFall8 but I do strongly agree there are too many AWD swaps and some really weird engine swaps where there should have been a brand alternative for that car.
Of course I can live with LS / RB / 2J / S50 and S54 (BMW) swaps in a lot of cars. Any mopar can have an ls. Any asian can have a rb or 2j. most things German and rwd can have a bayerisch 6-in-line (but only some fit the AMG 6.2 v8. no bimmers tho, they have the 507hp 5 liter v10 that will probably break if you add forced induction. Luckily they have the lazy v12 from the 7 series as well).

It might help is you were to address this to the correct people. Turn 10 doesn’t make Horizon games, Playground Games does and it is an arcade racing game at that. Not saying a 60’s Camaro should have an AWD V12 but it also not a Simulation game.
awd swaps are not real life
rightioit simple just tune to be faster

This is why i’m not into drag racing. Essentially, it becomes 1 car to rule them all.
The only way I know of to enjoy it, is to have class restrictions. Otherwise, if it is ‘anything goes’ you will only see top HP available, and AWD.
I always keep default engine but swap road cars with AWD.
Imho engine swap is a bigger problem than AWD, really.
People are giving every car the same sound because of that.
Add me for drags. I understand the frustration
