Seriously… Who signed off on that… Might as well send us out in corsa and maccys trays under back wheels.
Corners need to be drift zones with clipping points so you bank score not just twerk your way round the course at speed. No point in running clean lines and a technical run when all you gotta do is pin it and wiggle left and right.
Every racing game makes a complete mess out of drift events… Why is it so hard to look at existing drift formats and take note.
Get rid of the AWD, unless you have that car RWD converted, not just dialed back in the diff, it has no place in a drift event.
And winter… Omg… Why the hell would I want to competively drift in a very low grip environment, you could at least default the cars to snow tyres on winter events to keep the handling consistant. Seems to be a misception that drifters want low grip… Sure if you got low power and are just dicking around fine, but not in a competive setting. Grip is paramount when you are trying to keep a car on a fine line of control.
As someone who does this irl it’s just incredibly frustrating and makes me not want to bother with it because it just feels so wrong. You have a massive advantage over other racing titles in terms of handling model, yet still let it down on the actual event. I was hoping to see some good drift/touge content when you added fortune Island but drift adventure just seriously lacks.
I really think that instead of the Bone Shaker they should have simply banned AWD conversions from online. Force people to learn throttle control, for a change.
I do my best drifting in AWD. I can’t feather the accelerator (arthritis) so all I do is spin tires in the RWD cars. Drift Adventure is the only one I like playing anymore. No one can ram you!
I ended up having to use the Hoonicorn V2… which is great and all but stupid for circuit drift event
You need to add more grip to your RWD setup or drop the power a little. Less tyre pressure and as little camber on the rear as you can get without it looking weird will make so much difference if you also have the Diff locked to 100%, makes it very predictable and easy to control, I also tend to dab the front brakes to switch the car, and handbrake more to slow into a turn or extend the length a bit more. I also find the sport tyres can be better as it allows the front to slip better with the fronts, so you get more of a 4 wheel slide instead of the super grippy front hooking up and the rear spinning wildly.
Forza could do a better job of educating people on the fine art of MAAAD SKIDS to be perfectly honest… but hey… it’s still better than the NFS double tap to drift mechanic hahaha
I’ll give it a shot, thanks. The main problem is I can’t control my accelerator when my hands are bad. It’s don’t move or hammer down…usually the latter.
FWIW, I 3 starred every drift zone in the game in AWD. Ford Gymkhana 8 on Fortune Island and Lego Valley, and the rest in the Formula Drift Nissan #118 240SX. I’m a drifting fool in that Nissan! Love it. I actually do pretty well in drift adventure…when I can find a session.
I should also mention that I’m always in automatic. Manual is too much button pushing for my taste.
You probably need the Elite Controller if you haven’t already tried one. It can shorten the stroke on the accelerator and decelerator triggers, which may, or may not help with either giving you more control, or just minimising the movement your fingers need to make.
It also has paddle buttons underneath, which simply add additional ways to press existing buttons :- so if you find it fiddly to use the trigger and shoulder buttons at the same time (I do) then map the shoulder buttons onto the paddles where your ring & pinky fingers can activate them.
And another good idea. It looked pretty intimidating with all of the extra buttons but the way you explained it makes it sound like a great idea. Thanks!
