Did I miss the white lanterns for the ‘another one lights the dust’ accolade? And the Guanajuato lanterns for ‘happy new year’?
Or were they just missing? Again?
And don’t get me started on the missing parade race. I’m never going to complete Evolving World am I?

You haven’t. Or that is to say, I don’t think they were present. Supposedly they were for Chinese new year, so theoretically it’s still possible. But I asked the same thing last year and then they missed the whole thing, so who knows. I need both (parade and lanterns)

I managed to do this accolade last night using a Super 7 blueprint. I can’t remember the share code but I found it on Reddit after Googling. I tried a few S7s which didn’t work at first and was about to give up, then tried the share code one.
Yes, they appear in the CHINESE new year, so you have to wait and head over to the sand dunes, they wil be all over the place:
The Chinese New Year marks the first day in the lunar calendar, which begins the day after the first new moon appears between February 9 and March 10. This year the New Year falls on Saturday, February 10

OK thanks everyone. If anyone knows the connection between Mexico and Chinese new year then please keep it to yourself, I really don’t want to know!
Just fyi: there are many Eventlabs out there that will allow you to complete this accolade. I checked this earlier today to confirm as the accolade was still open for me & completed with no problem. Hope this helps.

That just for lights the dust or the happy new year one, too? I found one for lights the dust, but, alas, im still missing happy new year and the parade race one to finish my evolving world accolades … and lets just say that im not happy about that still being the case here on January 12, 2024. Grrrr. I ditched seeing the family this year and still didnt get em … so it wasnt all bad.

Yeah, sorry, that was just for “another one lights the dust”. With all the need for content filler these days, pretty surprising they haven’t brought the other ones back. I’ve never really been focused on the accolades much so hasn’t been much of a concern for me, but kudos to those going for full completion; that’s a huge undertaking.

I figured as much. Thanks anyway, though. Im not going to be able to 100% everything, but stuff like those two accolades rubs my OCD the wrong way. And i knew they werent going to be possible again when i didnt see xmas decorations around like i did last year. I even checked the volcano thinking the grinch may have dumped em all there. But, alas …

This year’s plan was to infect me with RSV. But i didnt fly the 3000 miles. Because they dont like to be outsmarted, they sent someone back with RSV to infect me anyway, two weeks later. Its always something. Usually my grinch-ness fades by New Year’s, but im still extremely sick and getting worse, so they’re still getting both barrels.

Speedy recovery ! My autumn “something” respiratory (not covid according to 3 rapid tests) was the worst I’ve ever had in some 60+ years and lasted well over 6 weeks. Then I read about “long cold”, like long covid, great. Still not 100% sure I’ve shaken it, but at least it wasn’t my family to blame, I’m lucky in that anyway.
I have also had this from the week before Christmas, still affected now, so 4 weeks 
Well, it’s lunar new year according to Forza (even though it isn’t lunar new year for another 10 days) and guess what Guanajuato is filled with?
Clue: it isn’t lanterns. Or indeed anything else that wasn’t filling Guanajuato yesterday.

so in order to complete the happy new year accolade, do we have to be in when its sat feb 10 in china (14hrs ahead of my time zone) or do we just have to be in on sat feb 10 in our current time zone for those laterns to show up?
Looks like we need to log a ticket.
