Night Time Issue

If memory serves me correct, those who played the preview build did not have access to all seasons. I would assume that night time in spring and summer are short compared to autumn and winter.

I do agree with the option to adjust the day/night cycle in free roam however. That would be an incredible feature. We’ve seen things like this in the developer build of FH3 along with things like being able to instantly change weather conditions. Would be nice if those options came to fruition in single player and one day in private lobbies.

Mexico is pretty equatorial, isn’t it? That should mean night and day are about the same length year round.

It seems that once again, the night cycle in FH5 does not last anymore than a few minutes, which was a downfall in FH4. With FH5, night seems to be easier to see around and with all the nice lighting around, it would be enjoyable for more night time game-play, similar to FH3, rather than mostly day time game-play.

Night time looks amazing and I much prefer it over daytime, It should be 10-15 minutes at least. The visuals and aesthetic are so amazing at night and it gives me nostalgia for games like midnight club and nfsu2.

100% agree. This game looks absolutely stunning at night and after playing the game for roughly 15 hours I’ve played at night for about 10min. There’s no excuse because it doesn’t get pitch black and visibility is still pretty good. It doesn’t have to be super long but 3min is a piss take. Needs to be at least 15min or just have an option to customise day night cycle times. The way the game is at the moment they might as well not even bother having a day night cycle

I too 100% agree, I love cruising in the night in the open world map. Not it’s only dark for 3 min or so. Can’t they give us a setting to extend the night, at least in solo mode. And please let us set the time of day in solo mode as well.

They have forwarded it to the devs. Let’s hope they do something about it.

I agree. While I’m happy we don’t have seasons anymore and get stuck with snow for a week every month, the night cycle on this is terrible.
It was short on FH4 but I hardly took notice of it. However on FH5 it’s SO obvious and constantly annoys me. I feel I drive for an hour+ in the daytime only to get 3 minutes of nighttime.
I’m very aware of it every time it happens and it genuinely annoys me. I’m sure the map and the lighting look great at night but I don’t get chance to look at it! Barely managed to drive onto another road before it’s daytime again! Honestly what’s the point in having a day night cycle if night lasts 3 minutes. Surely at this point, it’s basically just a waste of the developers time to have implemented it.

Ideally give players their own control of it but I don’t think that’ll happen.

Would this be something that they could fix and patch in, this needs to be addressed if its a design choice or if there’s more to it (Longer nights in winter ect). The night in this game is too stunning to be that short

Oh my god, is this a joke? night lighting is horrible in this game!!! lighting generally speaiking is completely awful, but its even worst at night lol.

I prefer bright daylight. When you get 16+ hours of darkness per day 4 months in a year that darkness gets kinda old.

I think the night time is a topic we’ve been complaining about since a few previous FH games. But in FH5 this is completely ridiculous. I totally agree, the night should be longer (much much longer), no matter we like or dislike it (if so, there should be an adjustable setting available), but this is a part of this game and night time has it’s own atmosphere making this game more beautiful where lit up gauges looks simply amazing.

Daytime is extremely boring and seeing it all the time completely ruins it for me! I never play on daytime on games like assetto corsa because its so boring and mood killing. I hope they see this topic and think about it. They should make it like night time only, day time only or day cycle, or maybe even adjust what exact time you want it to be! I find it so silly for an amazing game not to have something so simple yet so beautiful!

The lighting in this game is beautiful, especially at night. Problem is, I don’t really get to experience the night as the night cycle is so short in this game, feels like it’s only about 5 minutes whilst the day time is far longer. Would be nice to have a longer night cycle, especially since the lighting makes things more visible and easier to drive about in, compared to previous games - I remember how horrible FH3 was at night in forests, but this is nothing like that.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I’ve driven in freeroam for more than an hour and it has been day. And then day and some more day. You mean, there’s supposed to be night in freeroam? Like, at all? All I’ve seen in freeroam is day and day only. I’ve never seen night outside of street racing events.

But then again, I barely see any traffic, ever (and I cannot be more happy about it).

The Loop is currently 100 minutes, 90 minutes day, 10mins night (give or take).

I agree and would much prefer something like a 70min/30min split (as a reasonable suggestion).
