simple poll
longer nights are here - good or bad?
probably going to be worth repeating this poll after a month or so, long-term trends are important
People like me, who like nights just went without decent length of darkness for 1.5 years, it was way too short as it was.Is it not our turn now ?
I understand there are different perspectives, ideally I don’t wnat this thread to get into any partisan debates, just a neutral sort of yes/no poll
Just turn brightness lower
As for the poll - I’m in the grey area. IDC about it at all for 98% of time, but when I tune/paint the car it is annoying (outside garage). How am I supposed to vote?
Not a solution, but a workaround for tuning/painting in better lighting. The test track (tunes only), or if you have DLCs either Rally or HW?
@ziperrPL I had replied to your post, but the indicator does not show. The suggestion was general however, but can apply to you if those had not been considered. I don’t care where I get my paint jobs, as I only do very basic liveries.
That was for me?
My workaround is HMC festvial garage. Thankfully I’m not a perfectionist if we talk about painting and for tuning (picking wheels to be specific) it works well.
That is why I can’t really decide if I’m triggered by that “2% annoyance” or not
Loving the new night time. Makes eliminator fun in the forest area
I still feel the best solution is to keep the longer nights for those that really want it. Why take it away from them to make them sad?
This is really why those who don’t want the longer nights ARE sad; not necessarily because the night got longer but because the time added to the longer night was taken away from the time allotted for daytime. Just make the daytime longer again. Everyone wins.
I know that doesn’t address the other concerns people have about nighttime Eliminators (I’m not a fan either) but I usually just have a quick look to see where the sunlight is coming from. If it’s over to the east, then I’m good to play a few rounds in the glorious daylight. When the sunlight starts hitting the sunset in the west, I’m out to let the night crawlers have their fun.
An added item to the HUD could also help letting users know how much time of day is left or night is left depending on the time of day. Just a thought.
The only time I will support longer nights if it serves a greater purpose, as in it supports a monthly theme, or coincides with an addition to the game – by itself, it makes no sense and in some cases the front windscreen appears to be darker if you view out of it, even without tinted windows.
I think if longer duration of night/day are on the table, recoloring the HUD to accommodate the lighting difference should also be a variable to consider. The White needle and mph on the far right on some surfaces get hard to read with peripherals.
I just don’t understand sitting around in the dark. I pop out at the festival, almost pitch black almost every time. Heart drops.
If there was an active moving moon in the sky and a nice moonlit bluish glow as there was in FH4, that’d help matters. Night in this title is very poorly executed.
I literally hadn’t noticed. the only thing I can think of as an argument against longer nights is some players like doing liveries in daylight. other than that, it makes the game slightly more realistic and slightly more difficult I suppose. but like I said, I didn’t even notice, and I play this game… a lot.
And there’s a solution to that as well…go to the darn festival.
A solution, yes. However, indoor colours can look vastly different outside. Some users prefer to do their painting outside for better results to how the livery will look during gameplay.
It’s not really a solution since colors are inaccurate, transparencies are not shown, the reflections and glare makes nearly everything difficult to place, ceiling supports are in the way and you won’t know how your paint looks in literally any other part of the game.
Why is it ever dark in the house? Enter the house when it’s day and it’s day indefinitely. Enter when it’s dark and it’s dark indefinitely. Accidentally or intentionally leave daylight in the house, if it’s night out get ready to wait an hour before you can paint again.
I like extended night time but they need to figure out some other things that could improve the experience maybe for the future title. Like when you enter your house to make sure to have good lighting that spots on the car. Or car garages like in GTA or Need for Speed.
Didn’t Forza Horizon 4 just turn daytime once you enter a safehouse even if its night outside?
Better lighting in tunnels, and in the city. And just in general how light and light objects illuminate surfaces. There’s no way that everyone will be pleased. And right now i don’t really see the community complaining and like reaaaly complaining about the extended night time. Which means its being perceived well overall.
If the map didn’t feel like a zombie apocalypse movie set i bet more players would even start to appreciate the change.
I prefer daytime, as I feel the game looks better, but moreover - it plays better. I regularly get jumps and stuttering during nighttime, but perfectly fine during day - nighttime seems to require more FPS or resources or something…
So yeah, I prefer more daytime - I sleep at night, not drive, so I’d enjoy more realism in this regard, thanks very much.
Go to event lab, pick a finish line, trafic on set time to night.
There you go, you can now freeroam in the dark 24/7 without imposing darknes upon those who want to do PR stunts or play the eliminator or arcade
