Multiplayer League Hoppers
March 20 through March 27
Use this thread to share tips, car suggestions, and experiences.

League leaderboards are ordered by points which accumulate from all your played sessions during the week.
Points per race = finish position inverted + bonus for finishing higher than players with a higher skill rating. See the League Info thread or FAQ for explanation about skill rating and Division placement. Credit payouts for each division are awarded based on the leaderboard after the League has reached its end date.

See ManteoMax.com or KudosPrime.com or this thread for a list of cars by Division. Unless otherwise specified, Leagues use Damage=Cosmetic, Collisions=On, Tuning=Allowed, Upgrades=Allowed to the maximum of the specific class restriction. Cars must be currently configured to meet the lobby restriction to appear as available options in the Rent/Buy/My Cars lists, so the list of Rental cars may be partial or empty.

I wish there was more than one ghost league per week. A separate Porsche ghost league would be welcome too. We just did A Track Toys recently, why is A up again so soon? I know it’s AWD and different cars but it’s still A class. IMHO I feel it would be better if they would cycle through every class before going back to them again so we all get to do the class we like best more often. I can’t stand AWD so I guess I’m not playing this week. My hands can’t take it, you have to turn so much harder than in a RWD car. :frowning:

Looks fun!

Probably gonna spend most of my week practicing/tuning/painting for the MLG Tourney, but I’ll definitely be doing the Modern GT leagues when I’m not.

On a side note I wonder if the Huracan will be allowed if/when we get it

Is sim damage on again?

Finally more modern GT! My friends and I run a GT race usually around an hour long with qualifying and cautions every sunday night and they are always super close and clean. Probably much better than the hopper will be lol. We are always looking to add more people, message me if interested!

But ill definitely be in that hopper this week too.

i have to say that modern gt was good to race today, no wrecking and stuff like that. and yes Sim Damage is on.

It says RWD in the title but AWD in the thread.

I really wish the 911 GT1 wasn’t allowed in the Modern GT league. Technically, it is in the same class as the R390 and TS020, and these cars adhered to a different set of rules than “modern” GT cars. I have not races in this league yet, but I suspect the 911 GT1 is quite popular. Imho, I believe this car should be classed differently, or at least put in the same class as the TS020, which it competed against.

Not from what I experienced today. In the elite division, I was pretty much the only one racing the GT1. It was great on Alps (won all three races that cycled through), Silverstone, Prague and Laguna Seca and it was competitive all around, but the #55 Z4 seemed to be better and faster than most anything else. GT1 is great in the corners but gets torched on long straights - it just doesn’t have any engine upgrades available to boost power.

So I just saw a 911 in the Modern GT league popping the front up and down like it had switches. That was interesting.

Something has to compete with the Aston, it’s about time something can. Otherwise it’s gonna be 90% of people using the same car. What division are you playing in? If it is truly clean I might try it. Most of the other PI’s are way lower.

From what I can tell in Elite there is no dominant car. To get a good finish you need to keep it on the track and away from all the wrecks.

Also, you can upgrade the car to the PI limit. For some that means restrictor upgrades and tire width adjustments.

Thanks for the AWD league. For whatever reason I really enjoy these.

Pinnacle GT was much cleaner and more fun than the Trofeo league, I guess because it’s mostly full of people who want to race GT cars rather than full of people who need points to win a unicorn.

There didn’t seem to be a dominant car or tune either and the grid was really varied.

Top fun.

There was a guy in the pinnacle lambo lobby yesterday that did not know the difference between the inside & outside line, he argued about with another player in the lobby for like 30-40 mins. It gave me some laughs.

I really wish they would turn off sim damage as my experience of league racing in the Lambo leagues and leagues prior to them has been far from enjoyable. I was all for it at first because I thought it would help clean up the racing but that is simply not the case. There are just as many crashes happen as there ever was but now if you get caught up in it ruins the entire race. As an example I had a race on Watkins Glen in pinnacle where 20 cars started, after a crash on the 3rd corner 6 people quit straight away, 7 others either limped to the pits or tried to carry on and in the end only 7 people made the finish line out of 20. Next race Sebring 1st corner got spun and into the barrier at about 20mph yet somehow sustained damage to the engine. I used to be a regular in the leagues but it has put me off playing it, the only thing keeping me playing it at the moment is trying to get the unicorn car.

That was funny but also worrying at the same time, how could someone not understand which side of the track is the inside and outside especially in pinnacle where you would hope that most understand racing.

Love that the GT leagues are back, but there are couple things that I have questions for:

Firstly, why didn’t we make the races slightly longer? We’re already racing in a GT only lobby, why not make the races about 10-15 minutes instead 5-8 minutes which we have now.

Secondly, if I remember correctly, didn’t Turn10 promote a good number of elite players to Pinnacle division? I must say, I think this might have been a mistake. I was racing against some guys who I know we’re in Elite last time the GT lobby was around, and they were being destroyed. Consistently 2-3 seconds per lap behind the leaders.

I actually think there is less crashing and bad behaviour in Sim leagues, it’s just that the consequences of little errors are so severe that it’s every bit as frustrating. The Can-Am league (the only other Unicorn league) was appalling and I got intentionally bumped and rammed constantly. The Trofeo league is nothing like as aggressive, but that’s no consolation when you DNF five races in a row because other people make (more or less honest) mistakes.

But this is sort of my point those examples were not caused by aggressive drivers, the vast majority of the crashes I get involved in whether in the sim leagues or before in non damage leagues are caused by simple driver error either on my part or that of some one else. Having sim damage on does not in, my opinion, have much effect on stopping driver errors, it only compounds the misery of crashing. Not only that but it can also lead to further crashes as people limp around a track at slow speed on the racing line, and on shorter tracks it can lead to a lot of lapped drivers getting mixed in with the race leaders which usually just leads to chaos. This is all just my opinion of course.
