New Leagues: P880 Modern GT Racing | A700 Ghosts (AWD) | B600 Porsche Classics | Lambo Wk3

Oh I’m agreeing with you. I’m saying that even though the sim leagues are less crashy, they’re not actually better than the cosmetic ones were and in many ways are worse.

Just had a race with really terrible frame lag - there was a bit of a freeze just after the start but then it came back consistently on lap 3 and it was too unpleasant to play so I quit out.

Never seen that before, anyone else noticed it happening?

The A700 Ghost League (or as I like to call it, the Alfa Stradale League) has been fun in Professional - I seem to have been demoted since last week… I’ve been getting around in my Daytona pretty well but I just can’t keep up with these Alfa’s, I’ve not given one a test drive yet but likely will before the week is up, just to see if it’s the car or the driver (or both hah). It’s amazing how quickly a car becomes a favourite in leagues! I’ve got nothing against the players who use whatever the flavour of the week is, and hey maybe I’ll be using one in a day or two (?), but it is nice to see a more varied starting grid every now and then so I’m just going to keep on tuning a few other cars and see how it pans out.

I had a quick run in the GT lobby, and while I really enjoy the racing there - my headset is kaput, and in collision races I do like to be able to talk to other drivers to avoid damage, so I’ll be sitting out until I can get that sorted.

Stay rad.

I myself am still in favor of the sim leagues. Personally I find it more rewarding when I survive and finish well or when I have to pit and just beat the end of race timer.
I know a lot of people were thinking that the crashers were the guys that normally hotlap in ghost leagues, but I tend to think it was more of the guys from cosmetic leagues that were used to doing the bowling at the beginning to get to the front I tend to save a lot of replays to review and see where I can improve and have noticed plenty of 1st or 2nd corner dive bombers from the back trying to shoot gaps. I attribute this behavior due to the “from the back to the front” achievement Cosmetic is more of a “oops” I didn’t mean to knock you out of the way without consequences versus taking damage as well with sim damage on. Just seen or rather heard that excuse too much in the past.

I raced in the GT league last night, I have been demoted from Pro to Enthusiast from last week which is just as well cos I had a freaking nightmare, first off I thought I would race the McLaren, which once it was going was fine even though it has no rear-view mirrors, but I kept stalling off the line which didn’t help the people behind and then one time I was concentrating so hard not to stall I failed to notice it was in reverse, so I drop the clutch and shoot backwards…it doesn’t stall in reverse, so I apologise for the pile up that then ensued. I think though, once a I get used to these GT cars they could be fun I just need to find and practice with right one.

I wish we had a permanent GT lobby like we had in Forza 5.

Probably not going to happen. Unlike the 1970s Grand Prix cars a number of Modern GTs can be competitive and safely driven in R-Class Hoppers.

As for Leagues I’ve pretty much dropped them completely. I’m not playing as much Forza these days but when I do I tend to load up a P-Class Hopper for an hour. Leagues themselves have been a good addition to the franchise and I hope they can be improved upon in future titles.

What made the Forza GT/Forza Endurance hopper in FM5 so good was because the races were around 12 to 20 mins long depending on the track. Road Atlanta was 9 laps, Spa was 6, etc. Good times, The lobby had mostly skilled players too and became a little community on its own. The car balance was really good too.

Agreed! Spa earlier this week was 6 laps in the GT league. Not sure if that was a mistake, but it was a welcome race length. 4 laps of Road Atlanta seemed ridiculously short after that.

Spa seems to be 6 laps in R class, it was in the ghost lobby in the past, nothing else was really that long

What possessed turn 10 to have sim damage in the pro division? Most of these guys can’t get down a straight away without causing a 10 car pileup This is a disaster!

What’s the point of having the cap at 880 for the GT league but not all cars can get that high without going over? The BMW GT 880 on the dot but the Porsche GT3 is 864, and the GTR 867.

I built up and tuned the Bently, Corvette, Gallardo, Huracan, Porsche GT3, Nismo, and the Porsche Flying Lizard. Driving around Silverstone - with exception of the Flying Lizard - I drove all of them within 1-2 seconds of each other.

The Flying Lizard was another 2.5-3 seconds off of the pace.

That’s what I’m saying, I found the RSR to be really fun to drive but getting whooped like I’m driving a stock civic isn’t all that fun. I had the same issue with the GTR, and battling to get clear of the madness on turn 1 and the rest of the 1st lap is difficult being 1-2 seconds slower than everyone else sucks.

BoP adjustments seems to be extremely difficult for Turn 10, so I’d say they’ll never do it and expected after hell gets a much cooler climate.

Must say, I’m getting pretty tired of the Huracán infesting the GT lobbies. It’s not a problem on technical tracks where the Lambo’s ridiculous top end speed and acceleration don’t give it any real advantage, but on tracks like Monza/Daytona, there’s no way any other car can keep up. It’s a car that not everyone has and because of that it’s incredibly unfair for it to be in the GT lobby.

Either allow everyone to own one via in game credits/DLC, or take it out of the GT lobby. It already has its own lobby anyways. Just keep it there.

Agreed Matt, the Huracan has an average of over 100hp more than the others. It passes my 458 on the straights like it’s standing still! The others cars don’t even stand a chance either if the Lambo driver knows how to stay on the track. :stuck_out_tongue:

Funnily enough, It’s real life counterpart made it’s debut at the 24 hours of Daytona this year, at the end of the race all 5 of the Huracans were penalized for having too much power because of a advantageous air restrictor. They had 5 mins added to their total time, stripped from all their points and fined $25,000.

I’ve had enough of contact leagues. I only like real contact racing or rivals. Don’t like ghosts. But since I progressed to elite the racing has been awful I either have to quit or pit and either way there’s no race. I’ve been demoted to professional for that but couldn’t care less. But from now I’ll either play ghosts or rivals but won’t touch contact leagues until they are sorted. It has so much potential but it’s such a shame.

it would be nice to see the gt cars all equalized with a patch, when the 911 has around 100 hp less than the z4 there is a glaring problem. Maybe turn 10 could adjust the upgrades so the pi can end up at 880 for every gt car?

Would they do that? How often do they make balance adjustments to cars via patches?

It happened with the Riley DP car but that thing had some serious problems
