New Achievements?

I recognize Achievements share different opinions by everyone, but it’s a tad disappointing to see a flagship Microsoft franchise to not be supported with additional achievements.

Today even felt like the perfect opportunity to add new achievements. A brand new career? Old monthly playlists/cars returning permanently? The game could definitely enjoy a chonky 500g update this week.

Here’s hoping new achievements are on Turn 10’s radar. It’s not a top priority, but a lot of us use gamerscore as a great motivator to play games, and this Forza Motorsport is ripe for more.

Can’t say I disagree. I’m not a big achievement hunter, but I’ll admit that I have been known to chase the odd one from time to time. It’s not like it’d be a big resource drain on the developers, and if it encourages some more people to get back into the game, then where’s the harm in that?

I agree. It’s definitely not a priority for me, but I think it’s a missed opportunity. For some people it provides additional reason to play and it also just makes the impression of a game that’s evolving and being supported. Which FM is. Also I’m kinda salty how FH has this, but FM, which I consider to be the main Forza game (I know I’m coping), doesn’t.

I’d love to!
As is the case with the Horizon series, which is fuelled by the success of major updates.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case for Motorsport (T10), which often delivers no more than 1000G for its games. With the exception of large-scale DLC in a different format to the one we know today.

The “car packs” don’t allow you to create achievements (even though, in my opinion, this could be an excuse to encourage people to buy the dlc: complete such and such a time on such and such a circuit with such and such a car, win the DLC’s career championship, etc.).

I’m not sure what Xbox’s general policy is on the treatment of long-term achievements. In any case, as far as Forza Motorsport and T10 are concerned, I’m under no illusions: there won’t be any new achievements.

On a related note, there is also long-term availability. Licenses for tracks/cars expire quickly, making some content inaccessible once the deadline has expired.

See and thats why this week’s update it primed for achievements, it’s a permanent career added to the game. Car packs should definitely not have achievements.

And as far as licensing goes, I don’t think a “portion” of any Forza game has ever expired out of a game I believe? Eventually the full game will be delisted because licensing, but it’s not like the Ferraris are going to drop out of the game before then.

Forza Horizon games also get delisted
