I just hope there’s none that rely on a specific set of circumstances that realistically cannot be completed months later, like the one in FM6 for winning a 24 player multiplayer race after starting in last place.
Thru the Pack was one of the worst-designed Achievements I’ve ever seen (although 1001 Nights for Cities: Skylines was arguably worse). There was a large thread about it but to sum up: the Achievement required a large amount of Randomness before you could even consider attempting to get the Achievement, on top of the known issues with Multiplayer etiquette.
I would propose the following as alternatives in Forza Motorsport 7:
Start an online race with a field of 24 drivers.
Win an online race after starting in 16th position or lower.
ill predict there will be 10 multiplayer achievements (race x number of races, win x number of races,) even though only a small portion of the community even plays online (according to the new rarity scale on achievements)
as far as offline achievements I can see a lot of win a race using x car, or race x number of laps on y course types
Thru the Pack actually turned out to be a really cool networking achievement. Several of my community got it done through a TrueAchievements set up group. Two of us were in the same room so we were even able to communicate with all 24 people, and had some rotating to let more people in. The guys in charge had worked out how to pretty much guarantee getting in last place, and we just rinsed and repeated. Sometimes it didn’t work, but we got through about 17 people in 5 hours.
Awesome stuff. And rather that than California Drifting, which I have finally resolved I will never get.
I would like to see more specific conditions achievements - win on x in x with x mods and x assists off. Some achievements that actually keep us playing the game a good while, and maybe even actually encourage us to improve our driving skills … but not in drifting. We will likely get that sort of thing from Forzathon, but it just isn’t quite the same, and the Horizon 3 ones have very much failed to keep me playing. Something between 5 and 6, because those grinds for credits from the community for paints/tunes were ridiculous with the mechanic that existed in 5.
i would to see some fun achievements like hitting a certain amount of cones, there was one in daytona usa for xbox 360, hit signs or road cones 100 over time ,or overtake a certain amount of cars over time, surely turn 10 could come up with something different this time, maybe have some of the older ones back like having all cars from certain countries from forza 2 or something similar to the 1000 club in forza horizon
i know they will have at least one achievement tied to the new driver customization option, even if its something as simple as equip your first piece of gear
