New 2017 Ford GT OPI Edition

I don’t think this is much different than some of the promos in earlier Forza games.

When I think of Forza the first thing to come to my mind is not Totinos, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, whatever that coffee in a bottle is/was, etc

True, but at the same time not true. As a guy, I could participate in the other promos just fine. However, again, as a guy with no interest in make-up and nail polish, no spouse/girlfriend, no sisters, and a mother who isn’t into this kind of thing either, there is no logical way for me to participate in the promo, ergo, it is stupid. Also, while I am aware that women do play Forza, I’m still willing to bet that male-to-female player ratio account is still small on the women’s side, and that is before we factor out casual female players and various other sundry factors.

Can you quit with the sexism please. I get it, your one of those macho men who runs around telling everyone to look at how big your muscles are, it doesn’t give you the right to be sexist because you don’t want to buy nail polish.

FYI - Female players in gaming number 48 percent so basically they are nearly half the gaming base. You have no stats (and i couldn’t find any) that says female participation in FH5 in minimal or so minor that they don’t matter.

As a father to 2 daughters and a grandfather to a granddaughter (who all play FH5) i find your continued use of sexism to be offensive.

So, in other words, it’s stupid because you don’t want to put in the effort. Sound logic.

Btw, who’s going to know why you purchased the products other than yourself. I doubt the people you purchase from know or care about anything that you mentioned? You’re just making a reason to complain.

You think he should buy some expensive nail polish he doesn’t want or need, to get an in-game car? That’s ‘putting in the effort’?

Nowhere did I say that. I simply pointed out a fallacy in his logic.

All I’m saying is, it’s isn’t stupid just because he chooses not to participate in the promotion, it’s a marketing to decision to promote both brands. If you dont want/need the product fine, don’t buy it and you don’t get the car.

Similar to the controller, people that wanted it bought it and got the '32 Ford FE, people that didn’t buy it didn’t get the car. I’m one of those that didn’t get the controller, it’s ugly, I’m not in here complaining I can’t get it because I didn’t participate.

There are other ways to get it if I so desired, same case here since all it really is is a download code.

Other times when there was a promo with something like Totinos or Doritos I got the item because I was buying those items anyway.
I don’t plan on getting this product just to get a special livery, which someone could easily recreate as well as the tune.

The car is ugly anyway, but I’m not here complaining and saying it’s stupid because I’m not getting a promotional item due to not completing the requirements.

And why exactly are you choosing this to be your hill to die on?

Some ladies play Forza.

@Not Here Too

How ever you explain it away to me, it’s still pretty stupid.

Not in Australia
Even when it goes global
Another stupid exclusive promotion

I feel like some clarification is desperately needed in a more visible place. Fortunately, I found it on the OPI website. Unfortunately, it’s even worse than expected.

For the FH5 special livery, you must buy $20 worth of OPI Xbox Collection products from Ulta Beauty. For the Halo Infinite armor, it’s the same but restricted to Amazon. Both are US exclusive, and you must purchase from those specific stores to get those specific unlocks, totaling to a minimum of $40 for both games.

There goes my plan to just pick some up from Target. What an awful way of handling it.

Turns out this isn’t even entirely accurate. Plenty of their other products also count. The full list is here, found near the bottom of this page.

Well, one more small good reason to drop the game. If developers sort people (by store, by country) by exclusivity, why the less exclusive whole world can`t leave them in their sandbox? It’s fairly, at least.

Well, Forza Horizon 4 (and I believe past Forza games) had exclusive cars based on retailer too. In FH4, you could only get one preorder car based on where you preordered from.

I don’t agree with this practice at all, but it is unfortunately nothing new.

I have no interest in this but am curious when the “Global” launch occurs? I assume it’s a specific U.S. time? As changing the store location to the UK does not show either the FH5 or Halo offers

The products actually already released, at least at Ulta. It’s only that the promotion starts now. For outside the US, probably sometime relatively soon if they’re not available already?

The Promotion is supposedly available outside the United States from today…hence why I was curious as to whether it was a specific time.

Their official blog post along with the terms and conditions suggest it is US exclusive, unfortunately.

The initial Promotion that started 4th January was limited to the United States, true…however, from the link Max posted:

“The full collection will be available at retail in the U.S. at ULTA when the partnership is announced and then globally starting in February where OPI products are sold”

This is why clarification is needed. Not a single part of this has been clear on their end. However, considering all the other evidence along with how this sounds to me, I believe it should be written as “The full collection will be available at retail in the U.S. at ULTA, and then globally starting in February where OPI products are sold.” This separates the promotion from the availability of the product to keep it from being vague. From there, a clarification on where and when the promotion will be available. “Qualifying purchases of at least $20 from ULTA in the U.S. will also unlock the Ford GT blah blah.”

I believe the terms and conditions have the final say in this, and they say it is restricted to the US.

Edit:

Purchases since January are eligible. The car is available February 1st. United States only.

Edit again: Since it just cannot possibly have a single detail remain clear, purchases since late December are probably eligible, according to multiple places. This page alone has two different starting dates listed. December 26 and January 2.
