Am I correct in saying that to get the ‘complete version’ of the game I need the following content:
- Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition (£84.99)
- Horizon Racing Car Pack (£3.99)
- Italian Exotics Car Pack (£7.99)
- Super Speed Car Pack (£3.99)
- American Automotive Car Pack (£3.99)
- Fast X Car Pack (£7.99)
- Chinese Lucky Stars Car Pack (£3.99)
- European Automotive Car Pack (£3.99)
- Acceleration Car Pack (£3.99)
- Apex Allstars Car Pack (£7.99)
- Universal Icons Car Pack (£7.99)
- JDM Jewels Car Pack (£3.99)
(total: £144.88)
Additionally, do any of these ever come on sale, and (from as far can be guessed) are any likely to be suddenly discontinued?
I really want to get the full experience but the cost with all DLCs is pretty high, even with the base game at 50% off. As I won’t have time to play it for a while, my only concern is missing out on content via a sudden/unannounced delisting, as we saw with FH4’s Hot Wheels DLC.
Final Q: in FH4 the Quartz cars were quietly made inaccessible, even though not a DLC (presumably due to licensing); are there any similar cars in FH5 that might be liable to go?
Thanks!
This should’ve been included in the premium version of the game.
That looks like all there is. The premium edition looks like it’s discounted for me at the moment (UK) but it’s not amazingly cheap. I’d say there’s every chance there’ll be sales but I guess nobody really knows when and for what they’ll be.
They should bring back the “Ultimate Edition” again.
Yeah, I got FH4 Ultimate Edition for 67% off (the only ‘extra’ DLC was Hot Wheels, which I also picked up at the time). Was hoping to snag FH5 for the same, but 50% is the best I’ve seen thus far.
As said, my main fear is a no-warning DLC delisting.
Oh, I suppose technically the Treasure Map is another one, but I’m not a fan of that personally.
Don’t forget about the Mitsubishi DLC (but it was free) as well.
I didn’t get the Hot Wheels DLC but I did get the FH4 Ultimate and FH5 Premium as a add-ons bundle earlier this year (because I got the in late 2019).
But they would announce it before they would delist the FH5 DLCs.
Ah, yes. Got that, and the two other cars as well. The only FH4 cars I’m missing are the Quartz ones (which, IMO, they should have just gifted everyone before removing them).
Do you think they’ll give a heads up before delisting any FH5 DLCs then? I would have thought so, but the way Hot Wheels just vanished for FH4 gives me the fear…
The annoying thing is I can’t play FH4 on disc because the disc drive on my Xbox One doesn’t work anymore, and I’ve been using Gamepass to play it. Now I have to wait until whenever I can get the Xbox Series X, it is expensive btw
They announced that all FH4 products are going to get delisted earlier this summer. And also researched that the only way to get Quartz vehicles is the autoshow, and they say its because of licencing, which its dumb because they not gonna get anymore money anyways.
I had one of the Quartz vehicles, the limo one, but I sold it because I needed money for a different car. But I have it in FH3 though.
I could be wrong, but as I recall, when PG announced that FH4 was being discontinued, they pulled the Hot Wheels DLC from sale on the very same day, with no warning whatsoever – which is exactly what I’m worried about here.
I don’t remember there being any warning about the Quartz cars either, and that whole thing just seems kind of crazy to me: they were never selling them for real money; they still appear in the game; and they can still be acquired, though irritatingly only via the Auction House.
I’d buy the game now if it wasn’t quite so pricey, but at over £100 even with the base game at 50% off (£145 full price!), it’s just too high. If it was a case of ‘buy it now or lose it forever’, then I would certainly buy it now, but obviously I’d rather pick it up for less (especially as I won’t actually be playing it for a few months).
Looks like the base game goes on sale pretty frequently, though no better than 50% off; I’ve never seen the DLCs reduced though.
probably that’s all
the game does go on sale from time to time, dlcs rarely though it happened recently for half of them
the Quartz Regalia v2 (from the skill tree) was replaced by a Supra, I think and then the v1 was removed from sale, presumably due to a license expiring but it did seem sudden and did coincide with Microsoft vs Sony vs competition authorities about buying Activision Blizzard
as for sudden removal, it’s possible, most if not all cars are not “owned” by Microsoft so could disappear at any point without necessarily any warning or explanation but if the digital items are already owned then we tend to be able to keep them (though I am unsure there’s any guarantee as I think we don’t “own” the products)
Rally Adventure is unlikely to disappear unless the game goes, presumably it’s owned by Microsoft
Hot Wheels is still in Horizon 3, which is indicative of at least a long license but theoretically it might go
I don’t know that any or all of the above is correct, just my thinking
Thanks for the info.
From what I’ve seen the only FH5 DLCs to go on sale are the ones included in the Premium Edition.
FH5 will probably get delisted in 4-5 years from now.
And I don’t think they will get rid of anything in FH3 (unless Ferrari puts pressure on them about their car, hopefully not), because FH3 is not for sale for New anymore and I think licencing in this case only applies to games that are being sold which is FH5.
“but if the digital items are already owned then we tend to be able to keep them (though I am unsure there’s any guarantee as I think we don’t “own” the products)”
And are you able to expand on this?
Ultimate edition was a bit confusing /deceiving as when you think ultimate you think all. Fh5 has mostly all of the dlc in its premium edition. Especially if you compare it to Fh3s Ultimate edition thats missing car packs AND the expansions, but not all.
I talk about this here: Forza made no sense when assigning "Premium" and "Deluxe" editions of the game
I mean all the previous titles “Ultimate” meant all, they just made it confusing in FH5 by having “Premium” and “Deluxe” together. They should’ve done it: Standard | Deluxe | Ultimate, like before (FH5 does it like this: Standard | Deluxe | Premium, this is confusing because Deluxe sounds like the top).
Having “Ultimate” is not confusing, it should mean you get everything.
Having “Ultimate” is not confusing, it should mean you get everything.
Dont want to sound mean but, you kinda just explained why I said it was confusing… it doesn’t include everything. No prior ultimate edition ever included everything minus Forza Motorsport 2.
Both Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure have a cars exclusive to the DLCs, and those cars in both expansions are not all from one brand, meaning it’s most likely that both will be delisted at some point due to licencing.
Most likely scenario is that the game and the DLCs all get delisted at the same time, due to either a boilerplate licencing agreement or PGG not wanting to give their legal department another potential source for problems to manage.
The FH4 thing still baffles me. You made this big announcement about the game going into end-of-life mode, put it on sale immediately…but delisted the separate DLC packs before doing so, including two that weren’t available any other way? It’s been months and I’m still trying to figure out if it was a move borne out of ignorance of what was actually in the Ultimate Edition, or the desire to not give out any more freebie copies to Game Pass subscribers, or something even weirder.
I meant previous horizon games and in FH4 you got all car packs, except for the Hot Wheels car pack and the treasure map (treasure map only gave you access to all location on map without having to look for it yourself), so just one thing not included which is annoying but way better than FH5.
And in FH3 they released the Platinum Plus in 2018 which included everything in FH3.
In FH5 you get everything except 11 Packs!! Like why!!??
Which 52 cars in total, costing another 59.89 extra in total. This game also excludes the Treasure map (Not necessary).
