My wish (not a wishlist item)

I wish T10 put as much effort into fixing simple stuff like saving replays on PC and retaining wheel settings as they do moderating these forums.

Cant speak out of line on the garbage thats broken in the game without getting a flagged post deleted but they can have a game thats 3 months in production have bugs like replays failing to save and doggone menu options that you HAVE TO set everytime you play their “AAA” title

But now they ask for feedback on pit stops…what were you jokers doing for the last 6 years? We aint your Beta testers…we paid for this nonsense

This is exactly the reason I haven’t given them any input in those feedback request threads. For previous titles I had no issues providing such feedback, participated in surveys and even Forza Racing Championship evaluation process.

Now they just skip test phase, release unfinished bare bones product and expect community to do the dirty work for them for free. Wut?!

Unfortunately it’s a trend (a choice) many game companies have taken and used for quite some time now. Sad to see T10 joining them.

Yes this is a live service game so I expect we get this approach for many years to come from them.

Looking at Battlefield 2042 as another example of a live service game, great things can be done over a games life span when taking into account player opinion.

Obviously they shouldn’t release a game in this state but I have hope they will turn this into something great.

The one thing we can’t change is how this game released (a mess). I think we can realistically expect it to be improved upon greatly though, there is a big team, lots of money and other support available to them to make this work.

If they put nearly as much effort into ACTUAL GENUINE community engagement as they put into FAKING SUPERFICIAL community engagement - it might actually improve things.

Battlefield, EA and Dice acknowledged the mess, apologised, offered reparations to their customers and set about fixing it while communicating and listening to their players.

I can’t believe I’m using EA as an example of how to do something right but - T10 have gone with the approach of - stick head in sand.

You have to realise that

  • People working on the game and people moderating forums are different people.
  • Asking for feedback on a feature that players had the chance to actually first-hand-experience is fairly reasonable, and quite valuable.
  • If you aren’t willing to give feedback, nothing is going to change.

I get the mindset, but developers asking for feedback isn’t a problem. It’s a pretty good thing actually. It’s a sign there’s at least one person interested in making the game better. I certainly prefer that to the resounding silence surrounding criticism of the CXP system.

I have issues with the game, and I went to the suggestion and troubleshooting sections of these forums to give feedback. Do I wish these problems didn’t exist? Yes. But they exist, and vaguely complaining about it isn’t going to change that.

That’s the sort of thing you can tell yourself to validate your own opinion that they’re all bad and that you can dismiss any evidence of the contrary. They’re just doing it for marketing and there’s nobody actually following through. It simply isn’t possible that they’re actually doing it and it’s something to put to their credit.

As if the players didn’t asked for a cinematic and complete pitstop simulation since ~15 years…

Promises are free*.

It’s a two-way street. When you abuse someone’s trust, you will loose that trust and it’s really hard, if not impossible, to regain it. My relationship (that started in 2009) with T10 has now come to that point.

Although, it feels really strange to put it like that, since in its core all this is just a basic business-to-consumer relationship.

15 years and all we got is a half hearted pit animation…we know that they’re not doing anything to the car.
