My Rant From A Loyal Fan (Feel Free To Add To It)

A few of the things that REALLY bother me-

I really want hot laps and leaderboards- I am not sure what they are technically called but I loved picking a car tuning it and trying to get a good time on the leader board. I never was really competitive but it was satisfying to me. I REALLY liked taking a non leader board car preferably and old car tuning and I would be happy if I was in top 1-5% with a weird car or old car.

I noticed the other day and in a nod to PC I notice that M Rossi is referred as a she- Maybe that was always the case but I can remember yrs ago folks complaining about, or laughing at or talking about M Rossi. Now apparently M Rossi is a woman- nothing against women but come on.

Too much fluff and goofing around- Not all of us have time to sit down and strategize- now I feel like I have to waste time figuring out to best get through these little areas and crates etc.

The dancing avatars really tee me off- not sure why just seems stupid and childish. Yes, I know I am too old to play video games but I like em and the dancing cutesy stuff really looks like something for a 5 yr old.

I really do feel lost on most of the game- if I can devote 1-3 hours a day I am very lucky with life, wife, family, home, outdoor stuff. I now just hit A on my steering wheel until I get to the next screen because I am already bored with the in between stuff.

Ultimately it seems like Turn 10 kind of lost their way- I know they haven’t and I do respect the effort but man- I am probably going to finish the single player series and go back to forza 6.

They killed the community when they removed clubs and custom race lobbies from the FM series. I had over 50 days worth of playing time on FM4, and my club was ranked in the top 40 for B class circuit and S class drag racing. 3 times a week we had club races, and it was probably the most fun a person could have in the game. I easily had 60 Forza racers on my friends list and roughly 5 of them still play Forza games. Imagine the loss of dedicated racers across the world. The community is dead. Forza is using the Clash of Clans model. Pretty soon we will have to wait and watch advertisements before we can race.

I would buy FM7 but its mostly all the same cars and tracks from FH3. I feel like Turn 10 has turned their game into a advertisement. Adding a couple DLC packs and weather modifications really isn’t enough for a whole new racing game.

I have ask for and been granted a refund on FM7. The whole VIP ripoff was the last nail in the coffin for me.

I mostly played the game for the American muscle cars and the American modern muscle (if you call it that) but the old muscle cars have been divided into three divisions and you cannot race them against each other. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] I do not understand this logic. You cannot race a 1969 Chevy Nova with a 396 stock motor against a 1969 Chevy Camaro with the same 396 stock motor. Add that to the fact that only 81 cars are available for online racing and the meager selection of hoppers makes this a deal breaker for me. I only played online racing as I view the career mode as worthless (no qualifying and short races) and they neutered that aspect of the game (online racing). They also continue to ignore corner cutters and wreckers by not adding a penalty system. How hard can it be to stop corner cutters? But hey, they added cool driver suits right. ???

So long Forza.

Me personally the game overall is good minus the homligation…
My friends and I have our favorite types of cars and want to race against each other plus other people using the different style of cars. Just bring back the a, b, c style pi classes and the game will be awesome again. Specifically in MP & rivals. Single player that homligation crap is fine.

Why reinvent the wheel, I wonder? I suspect there is more going on here than mere lack of touch with their user base (although sometimes you have to wonder; the 17-GB demo probably turned more people off than benefited the title). It seems they are repackaging their product to become a sort of Forza Horizon with racetracks for younger users who do not care much about the craft of driving, and the loot crates are an early - and quite unimaginative - attempt to introduce micro-transactions in the game and turn it into a sort of vehicle collecting RPG. This would explain the ridiculous dancing avatars (no real pilot ever dresses like that), the removal of permanent benefits for VIP users, the lack of credits for driving without aids, the tier system, the difficulty to buy the cars that you want even when you are in the proper tier. Hell, you can’t even buy a Kombi! Some stuff only comes in crates, and at some point you will probably be able to buy those crates with real money. right?

If they adapted Forza 4 for the Xbox One and sold it as a new product, it would surely be better than this. No need to do much, only upgrade the graphics. Even the interface was better. Perhaps this could be an idea: take the current roster of cars & tracks, wrap them in a stripped-down Forza-4-like interface with full freedom to do what we please with cars & tracks, both offline and online, call it Forza Classic Gold or something like that and sell this sandbox version to us oldtimers, leaving the current contraption to people who enjoy this sort of game. This would please everybody.

Forza 4 remaster anybody?

I vote for that. Take the current cars & tracks, strip everything out and give us Forza 4 Remastered! Should we open a thread?

Absolutely not.

But feel free to use the stickied wishlist threads at the top of this forum.

been a big fan of forza since 1, and have spent a considerable amount of time playing every game including all the horizons. However, i could not agree more with nearly every post in this tread, every person i play with has the same sentiments as well. Stop making shovel ware and bring back what made forza stand apart.

Edit: The game will not load for me and has been unplayable all night, so there’s that too…

Forza fan since Forza 1 & I would like to add my voice to this thread.Others should do the same.
I am in my 40s and run my own business so if I am unsure about a title I dont pre order unless I am confident about the title beng good on release.I waited about 9 months on Forza 5 & it was pretty good by then with all the DLC & updates. The reaction on release was poor but then it would be with the new hardware & amount of content. So Turn 10 had a genuine excuse.
I am not planning on buying Forza 7 due to the following:
Poor demo with a truck?
VIP looks terrible.
Lack of new tracks.Suzuka & Mugello are nice returns but Dubai is one of those boring sweeping Autobahn roads. The game needs another Japanese,South American or Australian race tracks.
Online is terrible due to short races & crashers.Nothing done to improve this mess.
Racing against AI is awful because you cannot choose your AI.(Forza 4 anyone?)
No pit crew animations.
No qualifying or practice.
No choosing laps in career.
No clubs.
No storefront.
No drag strip lights.

This all comes back to players wanting all the features of Forza 4 without all the gimmicky stuff like crates, lucky spins & ridiculous mods. They are nothing to do with MOTORSPORT which by the way is in the title.
I was waiting to buy Forza 7 or Project Cars 2 but it looks like Project Cars 2 will be the better game in a few months time.It looks like it has a few faults but at least it looks like they have genuinely moved the racing genre on.Forza has gone backwards.

Pre-ordered FM7 Ultimate and to be honest, I felt like I overspent on a dumbed down version of FM6. I’m hoping there’ll be improvements & more multiplayer leagues. Some of the other modes, other people mentioned, sound like fun too. Here’s hoping…

Forza has been my favorite game since I got 3 with my 360, but it seems like every new game they aim more towards people who can’t drive (so why are they buying a racing sim game?) And away from people like me who are here for the realistic experience and challenge. No more assist rewards? What’s that about? And not to mention they’ve butchered drag racing. Finally they add drag tires in forza 4 I think? But there’s no tubbing to get wider tires. And in forza 6 you can’t see the tach until you take off so you don’t know what rpms your launching from and now in 7 you cant rev at all until 1 second before takeoff. Thats not like an accidental thing either, why would they do that? Not to mention that there was no offline drag racing in 6 at all. Also you have to set up a race to use test drive now? I just want to test and tune, that should be it’s own thing. I really love the forza series but they’re moving the wrong direction.

I own a limited run 2014 FG-X XR8, 1 of just 24 made by Ford Australia. But it’s still classified as a ‘family sedan’.

I was glad to see it listed as a car I could buy, as the limited colour was listed along with the other limited colour range.

Now here’s the rub. If I want the Gold 2012 FG GT I can’t buy it, asvits only available via a Crate, reaching certain levels etc etc etc.

But I had my own car, choose my colour. Emperor Red Pearl (yes, that’s a factory colour), I could add certain things, but I couldn’t up the rim diameter from standard, which is 19". Most modifiers in Australia choose 20" rims to help fill those guards. . When I hopped into Vista view, I could open the doors, bonnet to show off the 335Kws 5.0ltr Boss Supe5charged motor (standard fitment), but that’s it.

No Information about the car whatsoever. Unlike earlier iterations, where the Vista gave out a slue of information about mechanicle specs, production information etc. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D], you can’t even turn the lights in now…

The games been stripped bare if the basics that we’d become accustomed to.

In Freeplay, you’re forced to play one track, and one track only. You can just grab any car like you could before, choose a track, then hit up some hot Laois.

You’ve ruined a very good game Turn 10. But ultimately, you don’t care that much, as sales by the younger and more short attention spanned younger players are filling the void.

You’re loosing those players that have been with you for 12 plus years… shame on you Turn10, and Microsoft.

Im easy with all this crate stuff and i could see all this coming so just brought the bog standard edition…Its the graphics and physical appearance that Im struggling witb…I keep comparing f6 to this rubbish…and f6 wins on everything for me…environmental trackside graphics, the cars bouncing up and down as they speed along but completely boringly static on f7, and thats without getting into the set time of day you cant alter!!

(Re FM4 back compatability. This was asked for via xbl when the xbox1 launched. But it was blocked??)

Let me begin by saying there are things about FM7 that I really like. Notably the weather and the better structured single player career. I have played thousands of hours of FM since 2 and only the day one edition of FM5 was as disappointing. I understand times change and things evolve but this is too far for me.

Leaders lead and followers follow. Once T10 was a leader but somewhere along the line someone fitted it with a dog lead.

Thankfully I kept my xbox360, hard drive and Fm4. Hello old friend!

I’ve been playing since FM3, and it does feel like the game is changing for the worse with each Xbox One iteration. I came off of FM4 loving it and bought ultimate for FM5. Most of my issues with Forza Motorsport lately are honestly my fault. My life has changed from when I started. I’m married, and I simply don’t put hundreds of hours into a single game anymore. I bought the normal versions of both FM6 and FM7 because I can’t justify Limited or Ultimate editions to myself.

I like a few things in the 4-5 hours I’ve played of FM7. The career mode is structured a lot better now. The variable time of day and weather is actually pretty cool. Weather was implemented in a very weird way in FM6. It didn’t really feel real, and I think it was because the puddles were static despite torrential downpours. FM7 has weather that at least seems real to me in my limited playtime.

I don’t like having cars locked in the collector window that I can’t buy. Its really annoying. I don’t like the car collector levels blocking me from buying cars I like. Some of the series in the Seeker Cup are car collector level 4! Content is being gated behind more than just how many credits you can earn now, and its pretty weird.

I don’t really care about the prize crates. I know they’re trying to add an addictive casino-esque quality to keep people coming back. I probably won’t buy any until I have lots of free credits, which due to my play style may never happen.

Edit: I also don’t really understand homologation yet. I didn’t buy it when I bought my car then went to race with said car and was told i had to install homologation parts. This is my bad because I didn’t read anything about FM7 before I bought it. I came into the game not knowing anything about changes or new features. It could be made a lot clearer how the tuning part of the game has changed.

I have no doubt I’ll keep picking up Forza titles, but I’m definitely slowly falling out of love with the series. I left the Gran Turismo series for Forza through a similar process. When it happens I’ll be sad, but at least I’ll be able to look back on the good times I had.

The more I play Forza 7 the more I notice things that dissapoint me. Why have Turn 10 taken out so many trackside treats that were in F6? The monotrams that passed each other on the bridge in Rio on the last big bend, the smoke trails and track texture on laguna seca, the lush foilage including dense forests on Lime rock.
Now, the trees are sparse and very 2D…noticed this a lot on Lime Rock compared to F6. The track textures also look ps2. But its the severe lack of real time dynamic reflections on other cars that really spoil the fun and immersion…not to mention their lack of passion to win the race. The drivatars feel like theyre in there for the sake of it and cant wait to go home…Forza 6 had AI that felt threatening…and looked real! Even the back of cars including brake light lenses on a lot of AI looked very cartoony instead of real.
Whst happened to that believably reflective metal that the cars had in F6? They all look so matt paint and boring…like someone took a paintbush to them. I dont want to play Forza 6 so dont tell me to sell it…I just wang this game to perform…oh well…next years H4 it is then, after all Playground games will own Turn 10 once again!

I bought the ultimate package, super pissed. What’s the point of getting the vip of you don’t get the exclusive content?

No FORD Race Gear, but you can get an american Astronaut outfit, because you know, all astronauts are american.
