My quick take on the update and some ideas

First things first I’m one of the what seems to be few that knew what i was getting into when the game came out. Actually liking the idea of leveling cars. Get rewarded with points to upgrade my cars. This update makes me laugh and probably along with the devs. A lot of people want the car points and leveling system gone. Thats not going to happen. They want the game to last. They want people to put time in. It doesnt have to be all at once. They changed the level requirements for almost every upgrade to basically half. Thats great because it changes almost nothing. Which means they dont want to get rid of the system. You still need to level the car up to get car points to put those upgrades you have now unlocked a few levels ago. Its actually pretty comical seeing everyone complain about not having whatever they want a week after launch. Do i think the system needs reworked? Of course. But not an all around removal. Id rather have the incentives for leveling cars to max. Rather than a discounted price id prefer something like a percentage of more car xp. Something like a general car xp boost. Or even a manufacturer car xp boost. Maybe those could even stack together. If i get one car maxed. Lets say we get a 1% boost to car xp. But a 5% boost for another car of the same manufacturer. Making a 6% boost for the next car in that manufacturer. That cuts down on a little bit of the overall grind but still doesnt add up until you have a few cars maxed out. Put a hard cap on all car xp boosts at a certain percentage. Lets say for example 300% equaling 3 levels in the time it takes for 1 now. Thats a good boost and would still make you work to level the car without removing the entire system. Something else id say may come down the road is paying for levels with Crs. It shouldnt be cheap either. With the current credit payouts in the game as of now. I feel im going slightly lower where it should be given how much time is potentially saved. I think it should atleast be 50,000 per level. So if you want a maxed out car outright when you buy it then it will cost you 2,500,000 plus the cars value. Meaning if i wanted a level 50 Koenigsegg Jesko(most expensive in game.) It would cost me just under 3,000,000 to do so without driving an inch. Both the car xp boosts and buying max level cars could even be combined. Its a level 50 car so add that percentage of car xp boost onto whatever you already have. They could also bring in level skip tokens. Tokens that can be earned in game and not by micro transactions. Earn a token for winning a race in career or free play. Set up rivals events where a posted time rewards a single token(only one token for any time). Placement in that rival event could reward another or multiple tokens. For example the top 50% get 1 token. Top 25% get 3 tokens. Top 10% get 5 tokens. Top 5% get 10 tokens. Top 1% get 20 tokens. Multiplayer races could also award tokens for saftey ratings after a race. Which could make for more clean races. You could even receive a daily token for each in game day. The last idea i had isnt my most favorite and probably not even most of the forza player base favorite idea. The micro transaction for permanant double car xp. The lowest price id put it at is $10 or only available in the VIP pack. Hopefully this makes people want added features and less trying to remove things that people do actually like. To me any of these ideas would benefit the ones that like the progression and the ones that want to collect.

But even at level 25. Try swapping the drivetrain and swapping engines. U really dont have any options after those 2 upgrades until roughly level 35. The amount of car points at 25 isnt enough and its basically like driving another stock car. Which is everyones complaint. Thats why i said it does ALMOST nothing dropping the level requirements.

And here I am thinking that most of the cars won’t need a drivetrain or engine swap. Weirdly enough, I think the dropped level requirements actually fix the problem that was the complaint, except for those who want to have the fastest meta builds 100% of the time

…Dude, if you want Real Racing 3, just download Real Racing 3. Don’t advocate for developers to adopt the same tactics.

What tactics am i advocating for that you dont like? Progression? None of what i had suggested is a free 50 levels. The closest thing to it is the buying a level 50 car outright for more Crs. Which you still need to play the game to aquire. Even the double xp deal. Its a fast track just like the others and optional. You again would still have to play the game to get any use of it. Nothing i said was pay to win. Nothing i said auto completes the game. There is still effort to put in the game for all of my ideas.

All things that Real Racing 3 does and all things that Turn 10 is laying the groundwork for. None of what is in Forza Motorsport 2023 should be considered OK in any way, shape, or form, especially if they want to call themselves a racing simulator.

I actually find the game to pretty enjoyable. While i agree that some things need added and adjusted. I enjoy it exactly as is. Before this update even. I wouldnt have completed it if I didnt like it. There are many people out there that really like this new game and the way it works. Ive got over 40 level 50 cars. The only way they would ever consider removing the upgrade system would be if sales dropped and it was up for potential game pass removal. The way i see it. If you like the game. Play it. If not. Dont. Put your opinion on it. Let it be. If things do change. Give it another chance. Just because you dont like something doesnt mean it should be ripped from people that do.

Good thing it’s not just me, then, which is why they’re panic-patching not even two weeks in. Steam numbers are dropping too. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. This system should have never made it off the napkin it was scribbled on.

In what game has there not been things that went well in testing and when it launched went south? Glitches happen. And if you read the notes. Practically all of the things fixed were crashes and visual and audio. They changed unlocks to lower levels. Big deal. Its not panic patching. If that was the case itd be done day one.

The game needs some changes. In answer to the if you like it play it if you don’t, don’t play it. If there are things about the game that can be made better people need to speak up. Just play or don’t play doesn’t fix anything. I play the game but I am not really loving it. It’s not bad, but these ideas people are throwing around are some good ideas that T10 needs to look into. And maybe incorporate them into the game.

The fact of the matter is this game has been reportedly built from the ground up over the past 6-7 years. One of the key elements to this game which impacts all players is the new car leveling system. Prior to the recent patch it was clear the vast majority of players were opposed to the leveling system. So regardless of whether things are better or not post patch, it does make you wonder what they spent the last 6-7 years doing or how disjoint the decision makers are from the players that play this game.

@AntMoose9513 , I think you know, don’t get me started on that “New from the ground up” garbage!

Yeah but why do you need an engine swapped car on day 1? If you are playing with friends and want to play a specific class with them, just pick a car that doesn’t need a swap to be competitive in that class.

If you like a specific car and want to race that, just play it in a class it fits in with minor mods for a while and you will have it at lvl 50 in no time.

I was lapping a Miata to tune suspension, and I’m pretty sure I hit lvl 40 just between my tuning sessions and about an hour of trying to set rivals times. I started in lower class rivals and once I had the parts I did another tune at higher PI. It was super fun.

It might just be that the people who like it are spending more time playing the game than they are on the forums.

There’s a reason why the first patch included a slight improvement to car leveling. This was due to the overwhelming negative feedback from players.

I think you may have taken my comment on that the wrong way. Theres a lot of people complaining about how they cant just jump in and do swaps and any other upgrades immediately. So being able to do those upgrades so early with limited car points i see as pointless. Its back to square one for them to just complain more.

This is spot on. I don’t think scrapping the system is the answer… but man could they make the leveling system feel better. You wouldn’t even notice the grind if there was a good place to race some of these cars in an untuned state.

Ahh, yeah you are correct there. I will say though… being able to do some weigh reduction and tires a bit sooner in that American car series was appreciated.

I know i know. Replying to my own post. But so far nobody has actually posted about the ideas i mentioned except to say im advocating for something that i guess exists in another game. Anyone actually have any thoughts on the ideas i wrote about? Id even be willing to chat over xbox about them. Especially with anyone in contacts with Turn10 or even content creators. The more exposure the ideas have. The more likely they can happen. Not everyone that plays the game is on the forza forums or even know this exists. Everyone knows youtube exists.

There is a place in the game for making suggestions. Maybe we should be using the tools they gave us in the game.
