So this would be a pretty easy programming fix for them I think and would cover all the bases for people that are enjoying this new upgrade system and those that aren’t.
What if they continue to let you upgrade the car and continue to give you car XP and you can use car XP to swap in and out upgrade parts as you see fit if you’ve hit the proper upgrade level. In conjunction with this You would have the option to spend cash immediately on any upgrade part that you want. If you spend cash you permanently buy it like you did previously and the money is gone and you own the upgrade part. If you use car XP you can continue to rotate through parts. That way people that have the money can use the old system and those that want to continue with the progression system we currently have can do it that way as well.
There are basically two currencies to get parts. One is trading car XP and one is permanently spending money. This seems like a win-win and they don’t have to make major changes to the game or alienate any players.
Never ever in the series was anyone forced to upgrade the car immediately with parts.
Now everyone who wants to upgrade is forced to grind.
Thats the point.
Forza was, is and always will be a game for car lovers.
The Grind is, was and always will be : car collection.
That is given by nature to car people. No one can change that.
FM / Horizon may had their issues, but they always were the number 1 games for car people.
Its sad T10 break that circle. It is unnessesary.
Those of you that don’t like it, that’s fair. But there are some of us that do, that is one point. The more important point is they will not ditch this, there is not a chance. The entire game was built around this mentality and they’re going to stick with it in some shape or form.
I was offering a solution that gives players the opportunity to work in the old upgrade environment and those of us that like the new upgrade system to use that. You can even use a combination of both.
You guys should stop beating the drum and telling them to ditch it completely, unless it’s somehow makes you feel better, because it’s just not going to happen. You could suggest fixes or alternate ways for them to use it. But constantly yelling “just get rid of it” isn’t benefiting anyone, least of all yourselves.
I like cheese.
I vote that aged cheddar is the new game currency.
Turn 10 went mobile app.
What we SHOULD have, is a Career Mode that
Starts with laughable hatchback track days
Notice from private teams in classes like Mini GP season contract
Good results gets notice from higher class racing teams, maybe a factory drive.
Penultimate : Prototype factory drive
The whole game is fubar.
I truly believe the physics engine is beautiful.
The rest is CEO’s messing with people who understand gaming trying to make something special, setting back development by 12 months every 6 months.
What we have is a copy paste of Forza 7 (with the same exploits and bugs) with much better physics, and beta access stability.
No. No. Because your solution sucks. It creates unneeded clutter and is one more bad decision in a game already full of bad decisions. You want to play an RPG, go play an RPG. But be warned - those developers blow up systems that they “built their games around” all of the time because metas develop, and they feel an incessant need to keep things fresh. This game is not supposed to be an RPG, and Turn 10 should stop acting like it is. But if that’s what they want to do so bad, then they can go be a support studio to Playground Games’ Fable team, and leave the racing game development to people who know what the hell they’re doing.
They will tweak this busted, broken system for years and never hit that mythical sweet spot. And at the end of the day, they’ll come to the same conclusion that so many before them have - never try to fix what wasn’t broken. If they want their precious progression, they should try working for it. Give players an actual, fleshed-out career mode that touches on every discipline they have chosen to incorporate into their game, and expansions to bring in new ones. They’ve done it before, and they can do it again and better than before. But they’re not going to do it being this blatantly lazy and half-witted.
I can just picture a bunch of executives with big smiles on their faces, pointing at graphs showing the average play time in rivals is at an all time high. Bonuses for everyone!!!
Seems like a reasonable compromise. You could make the parts relatively expensive to encourage using the old system, but for example I have a million credits, I’d love to buy like a garbage 80’s hatchback, boost it to a level S class and see how it goes. What I don’t want to do is drive it for a couple hours before I find out if I like it or not.
Nah man… this system they have has ruined the fun part of the game. They should have an option to toggle the grind on or off. Some of us just want to build a car and jump in a lobby and mess around with friends. We can build cars to our liking with the credits we earned without waiting to level up a car. If you like it fine then keep the option toggled on but like most of us we just wanna LS swap a Yaris and drift the ever living hell out of it in a lobby then move on to something else. The grind use to be buying cars and doing the car collection, we shouldn’t have to grind to just open a drift lobby and upgrade a car very quickly to drift around with our friends.
Ditch the stupid CP/CXP-System completely.
Put a CR-pricetag on car upgrades, raise CR-income accordingly and let players descide if they want to spend their CRs on new parts or new cars.
Fastest and easiest solution.
ANY kind of car level grind will lead to ppl just leveling the cars they like the most, ignoring the rest cause it’s not worth the time, and in the end ignoring the cars they maxed out cause there are other cars to be levelled up.
This will go on until one has maxed out all cars that seem interesting, and at that point the game gets kinda boring and pointless.
And in maybe half a year player number drop drastically, wich hurts multiplayer big time.
That’s not at all what I’m saying. It is rude and disrespectful to speak for other people. I’m quoting people that have used the term “just get rid of it”. That’s why I used quotes. You’re making up your choice of words for someone else, that’s wrong and not beneficial to anyone trying to make the game better.
Do you have any suggestions to improve it or do you just like spout off useless rebuttal towards other people that are trying to help?
Wow! How you have any idea their level of laziness or intelligence is pretty astounding. You must be deeply entwined in the development team, could you share more please.
I think my solution is pretty good actually and there are other responses on here that find it to be very well thought out as well.
Look I get it, there are a large number of you that don’t like it. But there are a lot of people that do like the new system including myself. But I would like everyone to enjoy the game so I suggested a method that would cover that. You may not like it but it doesn’t suck, it has potential. And in the end that’s probably where we’ll end up, some sort of middle ground with options. I’m trying to compromise, you could consider doing the same; or you could just keep ranting that you only want it one way and that’s the only thing that’s acceptable.
No hard feelings, we all want the game to be great. I’m going to add you to my friends list so I can race against you in Free Play. Have a great weekend Clutch.
In my opinion the optimal solution would be to keep the current car progress system in the Career mode and Builders Cup.
Allow upgrades and tuning for credits outside career mode. If a car is upgraded and you want to race it in a Builders Cup just reset the car and allow upgrades by CarXP like it is now.
How about just a boost of CP and initial car level based on driver level? For example, 25cp per driver level and a bonus car level every 5 driver level. At driver level 125, any car would have access to all car parts from the start (lvl 25) and you would have 3425cp for the build (considering we already start with 300cp).
Or the boost could be for every Builders Cup completed, or every car reaching a certain level etc. Basically, the grind would be progressively reduced until at some point, we can do whatever we want for free.
