Hi all. I have followed this forum for some time now and really being blown away by some of the paintwork. Although the paints from the art guys are out of this world, I’m more into racing and replica’s for which some of the paints of the likes of Shiznit, Thatcargeek, Maxperforma and Fightdog are unbelievably good.
I have started some of my own designs and will post them in the near future. The first one now completed is the No. 51 Ferrari 458 GT driven by Fisichela, Bruni and Vilander in which they won the 2014 Le Mans GTE PRO class. I struggled a bit to get a photo of it on the forum and hope to get that done soon. There are some photo’s of the car on my SF, but I will find out how to get it here to show you.
looks good…a quality first effort for sure. I like the overall look as well as the fit and finish of the overall design. Logo placement and quality look good so all is well from my perspective. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing some more projects from you. Also, thanks for the shout out…I’m glad to know I have a fan and that you like my work.
For future reference…If you set up a Flickr account or a photobucket account you can save the pictures from Forza and upload them there for a direct display link so the pictures show up without having to click on a link. That will also allow you to post source images…which I know at least a few people like to see source pictures when they are looking at replica paints.

The car will unfortunately only go on auction. As mentioned earlier, only one will be sold and it will be on auction this Friday evening from 22H00 CAT and will run for 24 hours with a starting bid of 2 Mil Cr and no buyout and the buyers gamertag will be added afterwards as a licence plate. Sorry mate, I gave my word on this forum that only one will be sold and I will honour that. I will however hear what the successful buyer have to say afterwards re. future availability. If he’s happy’ i’ll make a plan for you.
You hit a home run with that one…I’m not a replica person myself, but from what I can see based on the source image you nailed it and the car looks great.
Thank you for the kind words on my paints, I’ve been at this off and on since Forza2 and it’s always good to know that there are people out there that like what I create.
As far as advice and help, I do 100% original paints made up completely from my own head and put onto the cars however I see them in my head. That style does not translate to replica work very well simply because I prefer and enjoy creating and don’t like to be boxed in having to replicate something exactly. That said, I’m more than willing to help you out as much as I can with advice and things like that. I’m not sure exactly how helpful I can be but I’ll try my best to help you out. If you want to send me a friend request to chat off the forums via xbox live, feel free to do that too…my gamertag is the same as my forum name.
Anyways, looking forward to seeing what your next projects are going to be. Judging by your first car…I’m sure it’ll look good for sure.
It’s a quality replica and all the logo’s look correct on the sides and everything, and congratulations on doing that, but the only downfall is the numberboards. The 24h of Lemans logo on the top doesn’t quite look right and should be the same length as the green number panel as should the wec logo, which is quite obivously incorrect, but i’ll put that down to layers left?
Otherwise it looks great.
Hi DJllama. Thanks for the comments. You had me worried the whole day so I’ll have a look tonight and try to address your suggestions. I do remember that while doing them that the layer number on the TOP HOOD handicapped me, but I’ll find a way to get it as a replica. Thanks for your advice.
Hi all. below then a photo of the final replica that will go to AH for auction later today. Some small changes were made based on suggestions from other forum members and I believe this to be a true replica now. Many thanks to D Shznit 007, Benjamin Nacho and DJllama for their kind advice.
The auction will run for 24 hours and will start at 10h00 today [= 09h00 in London, 01h00 in Los Angeles, 18h00 in Melbourne and 17h00 in Tokyo ] at a starting price of R 2 mil Cr. with no buyout. ONLY ONE WILL BE SOLD and the successful buyer’s gamertag will on request be added afterwards.
