Yeah but Clarkson is a a******* who contradicts himself all the time. For one British cars in our prime years (50’s & 60’s when we were the second largest producer in the world) were as good as anyone else was making, things went down the pan in the 70’s. Secondly the same guy openly drools over Lancia’s, cars which were well know for disintegrating in front of your very eyes.
And lets not forget he has zero interest in the everyday car most of us own plus his judgement of cars is so good he has to send back his Ford GT due to the amount of problems he had with it.

Beyond the Mini, British Leyland cars never existed across the pond. So for auto enthusiasts over here, often our only resource on BL cars is the that Top Gear episode. And it was a good episode. I still laugh when thinking about Clarkson opening his door only for half of the door to remain shut.
And yes, Clarkson is unreasonable. I mean his favourite brand is Alfa Romeo and I quote: “It isn’t an Alfa unless there is something terribly wrong with it.” - Jeremy Clarkson
He does daily drive a Golf GTI though just saying. Or he did at least. Haven’t really followed that for a while.
I guess Clarkson is an acquired taste. I’ve always found him hilarious. He was fantastic on classic Top Gear and TGT, as were the rest of the trio. Top Gear hasn’t been the same since those three left.
Clarson is a HOOT! And the three together were Top Gear. And British Leland cars were sold in “The Colonies”. We had Triumphs, Jaguar, MG, and Land Rover just to name a few.
And @pre1990cars , British Leland as a whole would have folded if not for Buick selling then the rights to that venerable Aluminium (as you say) V8. Which helped breath life into a dying British automobile industry. Your welcome, by the way.
Still kicking myself because I passed on a chance to pick up an E-type Jag for a sweet song back in the late 70’s. The car Enzo Ferrari called the most beautiful car ever built. And I believe, still holds the title today.

It’s good to have variety, but if there was only the quick vroom-vroom 12vie mobile supercars, hypercars, and whatever other kind of cookie-cutter types of cars (like what’s in FM8, for one) would be utterly dreary & boring. That’s why the older Motorsport titles, and pretty much all Horizon titles are good. Not everyone one solely cars about & wants said fast-only kinds of cars. It’s nice to see more grounded, realistic & oddball ones, giving the series it’s uniqueness & variety. Those, alongside the other kinds that so many froth at the mouth over, is good having a bit of everything (and yes, i don’t care much for most of the super, hyper & other kinds of fast ones like that). But it’s good having them too, of course. So there’s something for everyone. So you’ll get the salty little fan boys who go on about “why wasn’t x or y fast car put into the game instead of this crapbox, that no-one likes at all & everyone clearly only wants the fast ones i want”, that’s just utterly silly. Sure, there’d be plenty of more normal cars i’d like to see through, but i won’t whinge about them not coming through, or lose any sleep over it. So yes, i am quite happy to see the humble Tsuru make it’s way though, and i enjoy using it, and things like the CVPI as well way more than Huracan #34523, or some other Ferrari, McLaren, Pagani or some such.

Neither was mine really, i’m a Yorkshireman same as Clarkson so have the same sarcastic humour hence my little dig at him but was also a fan of Top Gear. BL cars were mostly pretty rubbish with the possible exception of the Triumph Dolomite Sprint.
