I was looking forward to what the ‘most requested car’ would be. Maybe a jesko absolut, or the newest V12 Vantage… but no. Apparently the most requested car from the millions of people playing fh5 is a D class front wheel drive crapbox which I assume is only sold in Mexico. I would love to see the posts that requested that.
We take car requests in the Car Voting - FH section of the Forums. You can see vote count by sorting by votes:
We’ve received requests for the Tsuru via social media responses for years, it’s no fluke. A good reminder that there are a wider range of Forza communities that exist beyond each player’s personal experience.
The engine swaps really save this thing, because without them, it is the absolute epitome of boring crapbox I wouldn’t want anywhere near Forza. Thankfully, it has 13 engine swaps to make the car unique. So PGG delivered there.
Meanwhile I’ve left the crappy stock engine in my crapbox Tsuru and couldn’t be happier with it. It’s a lovely little car with tons of character.
Of course it doesn’t hurt that we used to own a real maroon Sentra with this body style years ago. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia while ripping about.
Absolut ly the game needed another supercar !
…wait, is that sarcasm ? Why am I asking ? I just typed it ! I guess I know
And so very odd that an icon of Mexican cars would be chosen for a game set in Mexico.
Don’t worry, I’m sure more supercars are coming.
It’s true and I voted for it also. It looks so dinky and inoffensive but that makes it a perfect sleeper with so many build options in the engine section. Missing bodykits though because I also feel the need to make a spicy Tsuru that shows it too.
Still I can’t help but to like it.
You only found out now??
Just wait until you find out what the 2nd most voted car is now (if you exclude added cars)
I get liking common cars, and I as well think we need more of those in the game. However, if you really take a look at the car line up in this game, each model has some form of significance beyond just existing, or where it was made. Even if it is a seeming foot note that makes it so. …Some new homologous technology derived from a race platform, a New Redesign, New models, first of a type, won a race, those sort of things.
Why do we have a Tsuru;
IMHO
1: because of the meme status of this car. Lets be honest it’s just a Nissan Sentra, and not even the best of its kind.
2: it was easy (easy to license, easy to procure to scan and record etc): “easy win” “low hanging fruit” are all common terms we use in development to reference features we add that string things along between actually doing something significant with a release.
3: To flip #1, we as a community do this to ourselves, we complain about old drip fed content, but then won’t shut up about drip feeding old content back at us (and poorly at that) - (Looking at you Alfa).
…it’s funny that in a game about cars I see a lot for the same things with actual automakers where they are always seemingly stuck with their buying public between:
1: “giving the customer only what they demand”
2: “Making cars that people -should- drive.”
e.g.: Wagons and Sedans wouldn’t be dead if automakers would make those instead of SUV’s.
Except: people didn’t buy wagons, or sedans when they did exist, they bought SUV’s no matter how bad they were.
e.g.: Enthusiasts: "We want an old school RWD light weight sports coupe to give some answer other than ‘Miata’.
Toyo-Baru: “We got chu, fam!”
Enthusiasts: Whaaaaa, too slow, moar Herspers!, no turbo swoosh noises! not AWD, whaaa whaaa whaaa!!!
…see what it’s like to make and sell cars to the mob? Selling them virtual cars isn’t much different.
I don’t like it, and I don’t understand why it recieved so many votes (and yes I know it’s ties to Mexico, I just don’t think that’s enough to earn it most voted car), but the game isn’t just for me.
I do often scratch my head, wondering what’s even motivating some of the voting trends. I mean, why are people so obsessed with getting more cars into the game when there is barely any endgame with which to engage those cars with? Seems like putting the cart before the horse to me.
Hypercars, sports cars - well, almost every car game.
Fooling around in a production car & doing things that you wouldn’t do in your production car = fun & exciting.
Well, if you’re like me you think of Horizon like this: It’s Pokemon but with Cars.
The “object” isn’t racing, tuning, painting or any of that… it is collecting all the cars.
And as many have pointed out before about the game it has this “Fear Of Missing Out” mechanic to the drip-feed of the new content via the playlist. …you do stuff to win cars here. It’s a “Festival of Cars”.
Love this!
Sadly no car I’ve owned in the past 20 years is in this game currently except… stupidly, My Chevy Silverado… which in this game is a drift truck and nothing like my truck was. Ho-hum!
Not sure what to do if some car you want isn’t a top voted car? Not really sure TBH.
I think the key feedback here isn’t to complain about what gets chosen; it is that we are not sure what else to do to help make cars we want happen when the Mob isn’t backing it, other than being slavishly annoying in your favorite cars’ threads, which would probably be frowned upon.
I wonder how much Tsuru not being in the game was affected by…
(quote from Reddit)
There’s a very simple explanation for this: Nissan had to agree to this car being included in the game - and after some disastrous crash tests, they wanted people to forget about the fact they ever sold a downgraded early '90s design until 2017, knowing full well what a horrific death trap it was.
Ford Fiesta '81, VW Golf MkII, Ford Sierra RS500, Renault 5 are not cars I’ve owned exactly but they are cars I’ve been in close proximity to and have had very happy memories of. I have owned a Ford Focus '09. These are the cars that prompted me to buy this game. I was over the moon with the Renault 5L. This is when the developers show foresight.
I would not have bought this game if it was just a Jesko festival. The game would have not even have drawn my attention.
Tbh, I don’t have any personal experience with Tsuru/Sentra except as a close approximation of the Sentras that competed in the South African Touring Championship in the 90s. I was absolutely delighted to get my hands on that car for that reason. I’m now just sweating to get my hands on a second one.
Just putting this out there…for fun…
Who’s to say the Tsuru was the most requested car?
How do we know the voting results were legit? Were YOU keeping score?
What if we were getting the Tsuru all along, but voting was done to increase engagement and maybe a sense of importance in regards to our role and say in this game?
I have 0 facts to back anything up, just speaking hypothetically. I can think of hundreds of cars I’d select before the Tsuru, but this game wasn’t created for me, so if the vast majority truly voted for it, then I’m glad it’s now in the game.
Tsuru’s been top of the voting for a long time. It’s still possible it was faked and planned, but I don’t really see much upside to such a long con.
I would like to see the following cars added
Range Rover Evoque Convertible
Toyota fj cruiser
Jaguar S Type
Toyota yaris gr
2024 Bentley Continental GT Convertible
If I wanted to drive a crapbox, I’d just drive it in real life. I don’t get the appeal of doing it in a video game.
Want to drive a crapbox? Just take your daily driver on a drive.
Want to race a crapbox? Take it to a track day or autocross.
Want to drift a crapbox? Find a parking lot.
Nuff said.
You don’t have access to expensive super/hyper cars, just as those of us with crap boxes that are or want them in this game aren’t going to take them to a track and or drift them in an empty parking lot, modify them, take them off-road, turn them into rally cars… etc. How is it any different?
So in order to make it happen, one must own a crapbox, live near a very cheap but good track, the crapbox must be RWD and drifting parking lot better be cop safe.
Brilliant plan.
