I can see both sides, but I have to agree with the sentiment of surprise when I found out this was the top voted car, as I’m still not seeing it & genuinely wondering about the credibility of the vote.
I can see the interest in having this class of car, but there has to be more behind what drove it to the top; maybe I missed it?
Pretty much just its status as a cultural car icon in Mexican culture. Probably only players from Mexico were familiar with it, but then it got semi-viral amongst the general community on both Reddit and Twitter prior to Horizon 5’s release, and, well, once a meme train gets rolling, there’s virtually no way of stopping it.
The Fiat Uno, meanwhile, got catapulted to the top of the votes because the Uno is a cultural car icon for Brazil, and a Brazilian Forza YouTuber basically told his audience to come here and vote for it.
The Yangwangs, however, will forever be a mystery to me. How the votes of those got so high, I’ll never know nor be able to explain.
Now there’s a disturbing thought. The voting might be genuine on PGG’s side, but that doesn’t stop the general public from cheating the vote, through multiple accounts or (more likely) influencing audiences who probably wouldn’t care enough to even vote otherwise.
Yet another reason why I’m not so hot on open voting. I’d be willing to bet that there is a significant portion of those Tsuru voters who are no longer playing and no longer care about the game. Or they only care because a personality they follow cares. Not willing to bet that it’s the majority, but I also wouldn’t be surprised either way.
Well, all this aside. First the list of 8? Um 9 cars as best I can count. And all this talk of; I’d rather have the Tsururugarue than another Super or Hypercar. And the list of Nine cars, Five are Super, or Hypercars. Hum? Maybe people really would rather have more Super or Hypercars. At least if I were an oddsmaker I’d give 5:4 odds in favor of the Super/Hypercars.
And while we all love to play “fantasy island” (de plane de plane) in our little video game world thinking were world class racing drivers always posting the images of our winning races (snuck that line in for you @KnightOfRen8514 ) . And building World class hotrods with super meta hyperbuilds.
This little car takes “fantasy island” way over the top with all those engine swaps. At least half of which (in reality) couldn’t possibly fit in that little car body. Maybe John Force could have a funny car body built and call it the Tsrurugarue (or even the Tsrurugarueasarus) but then it would look pretty much like all the other funny cars called Challengers, and Camaros, and [redacteds].
What might have been fun with this car would have been if PGG had revived that (and I forget what it was called) hotrod building business from FH4 and used this little car as the starting point. I don’t know, just a thought and the ramblings of a Grumpy Old Man.
That sounds like a sneeze.
Borrowed the name from Swamp People. It just sounds appropriate for the little monster.
With a name like that it would have to be a rerun of the monster truck story and feature a full blown monster truck build parts list
Would be great if PGG let us make the cars look like real 4x4’s when they get the 4x4 conversion.
As for the legitimate or otherwise voting I’d say the Tsuru is allowed just because of its status in the game setting. It SHOULD have been in from the start.
as soon as they added hot wheels and video game cars, they threw away any credibility they had. which is fine, because I like daily drivers, ill take more over the 17th variation of the same Lambo

Looks like it was taken positively.
Although, I’m surprised about 0 comments and only 2 upvotes.
EDIT: cause that last part may be misleading
Give me a Mazda rx3 with liberty walk body kit or som other nice old yewelry (emory rsr) and I’ll be happy. I don’t even like the Mexican map and have no need to drive through “Mexico” as a taxi driver. So enjoy your sleeper, common car and in the meantime I’ll be waiting for news of cars that excites me a bit more…
Yes that emory rsr n the #94 vw idr from fh4!
Frankly speaking 99.999% of the community like to drive normal street cars…they basically like to cruise…it’s good…i also like to cruise sometimes n tsuru is definitely a good car…I like it too but i like bolide too…n i want more motorsport cars in game…The devs should maintain a balance between street cars n motorsport cars…There is a bloody myth in community that horizon can only have road cars…they just hate race cars or other motorsport cars…cause they never race…they only do drifts n drags…they don’t even talk about track cars…for american automotive car prediction they talked about ford shelby 1000, svt cobra n other variants but not about ford gt mk2 or gt mk4…stop this myth devs…horizon is a festival like goodwood festival of speed…so it can have anything from a car like tsuru to a lmh like 499p…there shouldn’t be any rule…stop encouraging them by adding 95% road cars n only 5% track cars in every series update…
This made me think back to the “Getaway Driver” promo video & I initially thought ahhhhhh, that must be the car in the video; nope…so yeah, idk.
I’ve made a lot of trips to Mexico & been in a lot of taxis there, but the only ones that stuck out in my mind were the VW Beetles, particularly the ones with the floor boards so rusted you could see the road while the driver was doing a pretty fair impression of the above referenced video
I don’t know why anyone would bother cheating to get the Tsuru in there, lol. It’s a good car to misbehave in and appropriate for the setting.
A truly satisfactory cheating experience is to try and get the barbie car or some other goofy nonsense into the top spot.
My big interest comes from the Tsuru being a contemporary of and general approximation of the Sentra, a version of which competed in South African Touring Cars. It’s another 90s car to make a Super Touring livery for. I didn’t know it was iconic in Mexico but cool that it is.
The Fiat Uno, packed with customisation options, would make a scorching addition to this game. I don’t mind if it’s iconic somewhere, I’d just love to get that car at some stage. 90’s era Chaser, would be great too.
here is the question for all of us on here what will be the next most requested car for next month in fh5?? i got a feeling it should be the latest mustang Dark horse
Horizon has fallen, but it has nothing to do with this car.
I agree that they should, and they already do.
if people don’t like the Tsuru, try one of the other 750+ cars in the game. I play this game for hours every day and I haven’t driven 200+ of them yet. I get complaining about cars… I complain about stuff in this game too… but anyone who doesn’t understand the Tsuru thing is quite simply totally out of touch with the player base supporting this game. the devs do listen to us, you just have to be active in certain areas, and here in the forums is one of them. they knew people would say “blah blah Mexican taxi” so they gave us a dozen engine swaps. and if this week’s car doesn’t thrill you, come back next week, or the week after, or the week after, for more free content after two whole years. still.
No…they don’t. And about me I’m pretty active in the forum!! I know what the suggestion hub is for n they don’t listen to us…they just do whatever they wanted to do…yeah 5% of the time they listen to us by giving lil something exciting like tsuru in this update to please the community…n we have to wait for paid carpacks to get race cars…so i don’t think u should take that “listening” thing into consideration… n about engine swaps, u can build a drag car or drifte car out of it or may be a rally one…but it’ll never be a race car…then it’s useless for racers like us!!
