More expansion packs may come

So in Horizon 2 they released the new Storm Island Expansion pack which includes over 90 new events. Now when you go to the market place to buy the expansion on the pause menu you will see the option to select expansion packs, which will then bring you to the expansion packs menu which only includes one expansion pack. But my point is that it brings you to a menu which is names expansion packs meaning that there may be more expansion packs to come as rumoured about the map original being Italy, France and Switzerland meaning having Switzerland as a DLC Expansion pack and maybe even other locations around the Mediterranean area as DLC expansion packs. There are 4 blank spaces where the expansion pack pause menu bar is as well as the barn find menu, being that there is 4 blank spaces there as well, so hopefully there will be more map expansions to come.

Let me know what you think and if you have any updates or threads.

This joins with my hope that the 4(?) place holders in the Barn Finds menu will be filled in some way.

They could have the airport as another access port. This could be great for longevity.

I am curious what people would prefer, a longer development cycle between games, and more expansion packs, or to stick with the two year turn around system.

I personally would prefer a 3/4 year cycle with more time for DLC, support etc…The challenges were a blast in Forza 5 and its a shame we haven’t seen any in a while. Seems like the game just came out to me, and Forza 6 is probably right around the corner.

I agree. It seems that the downloads are wrapped up far to quick. It would be great to see the game still supported while it is still relevant and fun. I suppose there is no hope of this for Forza 6, because they surely have some things they may want to improve on sooner, rather than later. But the excitement that comes from new tracks and expansion packs could really add a lot to our favorite titles.

Typical T-10… milk it for a year… then lie dormant and when you release the next upgrade, I mean new version… folks go nuts; then hold out half the cars and sell them as DLC. Some folks due to the wheel issues, never bought FM5 for months and then its dead.

I like this idea, gives more time to polish and create more content while giving it longevity, as you said, i dont mind the development cycle as long as the games are good, and prices of the dlc are reasonable, which they are in my opinion anyways as they have been high quality as expected. Whatever the turn out is, im all for more expansions if thats the case, would love to see Switzerland, Monaco, maybe even Paris or Rome as possible new cities, have doubts given the time frame here. But, since the car pass expires by the time March rolls around, I’m curious to see what they’ll do to update the game until Forza 6 drops next fall

I am more of a Horizon person, and like quality over quantity, so I would LOVE more EPs. New islands, more songs, events, cars, you name it, it would be cool. While getting a new Horizon is nice, getting new content that is not just cars on an already awesome game is even better.

He also said that it is possible for them to add more songs to the soundtrack. That would be cool!

It was Australia. The false article said something about California, Southern Europe and Australia. Don’t think they would do that though, must have just been thoughts they hd that never grew into a game.

I’d quite like them to adopt the Rock Band model. Upgrade the base game from time to time but transfer all existing cars and tracks with along with a steady stream of DLC. After a few years we’d have one beast of a driving game instead of what seems like a biennial reset(*) in the name of some visual enhancements and a shuffling of menus.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not suggesting anything like the Standard/Premium abomination that GT turned into but I’m sure something along these lines is easily possible.

(*) The absolute worst of which is seeing all the DLC packs that contain cars previously standard in an earlier game.

I’m curious as to what will be in that “Extras” option. I might’ve expected the expansion to go there, but it got its own spot. More music? A race editor?

I was thinking more like using an airport icon that will transport you to the city of San Francisco, where we have access to the entire city and one of the events is the famous Street race between the Charger and the Mustang from the movie Bullitt! Now that will be rad right there.

In others, thats where the game credits were placed.

That would be cool, head to the airport to fly to a snow destination or head to the docks to smuggle aboard a steamer to go to a desert location.

Does make me wonder what could be in store for the future considering the game has only been out just under three months and we already have a map expansion. Seems to me that if this was the only DLC they had planned they would’ve waited a few more months to release it to keep people interested in the game for as long as possible.

It was the same for the original Horizon. December’s Rally Expansion was the only major non-monthly DLC, aside from the 1000 Club which I don’t really consider an “expansion” as it was only extra side challenges and 2 free cars. It did offer good replay value but it certainly wasn’t on the same level as a map expansion.

Good memory, I had forgotten that the rally expansion had come out that early for Horizon 1.

With the X one,i think we will see more dlc stuff just because of the new tech.

With how small the expansion pack is i think were going to see a fair few of them!

All this falls inline with the slip up of that microsoft rep before the game came out. Apparently she claimed a total of (3) locations. One was southern europe(main game) the other location i remember was California USA. The third location i do not remember but i have a feeling it was probably the storm island dlc we just received. With the Nice harbor being the location for the storm island dlc thats a dead giveaway that the next expansion (California possibly) will utilize the airport. Not to create hype but my speculation on this is simple. Its been a deep want of the forza community to have a drift associated pack. Since the main game is very diverse and this new pack is dedicated to extreme offroad. It is a high possibility that with California being associated at some point in this franchise, a drift pack is now likely. Cali is home to none other that Irwindale racetrack or the “house of drift” as we car enthusiest call it. I wouldnt be surprised one bit if that ends up being the new pack. Cali expansion + 6 cars that can smoke tires with ease.

Highly doubt they would a drift only dlc pack, that segmant is smaller than the hard core racer one,not everyone likes drifting,i don’t think they could sell enough to recoop the cost of making a drift pack, just my OP.
