I got an Xbox One primarily for Forza. I have been playing the series since the original on Xbox and have been a part of the community all the way up until Forza 5, since I only recently acquired an Xbox One. After some time with Forza 6 I can safely say it feels like the old days of Forza are still on point. I love what they’ve done with wet and night racing. Graphics look great of course and the paint tools have only gotten better with age. Bravo!
However, consistency is a double-edged sword. The multiplayer aspect is still as featureless and frustrating as it has always been. I had hoped that connection issues and shoddy matchmaking would have been resolved by now but they have not. This is also consistent with what I’ve noticed upon my return to Xbox Live. Still a terrible, terrible system. Hoppers aren’t a terrible idea but they should be matched with a custom lobby system. I think they did this in Forza 4? Anyway, I had to ragequit my playing tonight after too many connection errors dumping me from a lobby only after going through the waiting of the lobby system and loading of the game itself.
Ah well… at least I can say I’m not surprised. The game is polished to hell and back. I just wish they gave the online the same spit-shine.
^ Did you read the actual OP or just the title? He wasn’t smack talking the game, he meant same as the last in a good way, lol.
I’m glad multiplayer doesn’t mean much to me. Because this game is at least a 9/10 to me for that. They’re missing out on a LOT of praise/fans by not putting ANY effort into drag racing. I’m always disappointed by that, and probably always will be, because it seems pretty obvious that none of the guys at Turn 10 know anything about drag racing. Lol. I’d love for them to prove me wrong, but until then I’m going to look down on them for at least “appearing” to have no respect for drag racing. If they do, it doesn’t show.
But that’s the only thing that prevents it from a 10 in my book. The game is incredible otherwise.
Agreed for the most part, the actual driving experience in Forza Motorsport 6 is as good as it has even been in my opinion.
Custom Public Lobbies were a feature in Forza Motorsport 2 and Forza Motorsport 4. Given how invested Turn 10 seem to be in the Hopper system these days I doubt they’ll make a return.
Forza has always been iffy with connection issues; I remember having a lot of trouble in the early days of Forza Motorsport 4. As for Forza Motorsport 6, there is a disconnection bug/issue what boots everybody out of a lobby.
