Maxwell's Speed Shop's Big 3 Blowout S Class Drag Tuning Comp

It’s all good man. I dont understand why, but I’ve found there’s a few cars that historically were rockets but are complete dogs in this. I give you the Chevelle, '69 Camaro, '73 Super Duty T/A, well, tons of Dodges or Pontiacs. Haven’t figured it out yet, but there’s definitely a wall some cars hit with drag tuning.

As far as the comp goes, it’s all in fun. Get ya away from runnin’ in circles and chasin’ ghosts, lol! Thanks for joining up man.

Well guys, we’ve got the rest of this week, August 27th, for finishing up our tunes. I believe we’ve got cars/tunes submitted by SnowmansDad1 - Buick GSX, Streethawk53 - Plymouth 'Cuda. Are you still running in the Prowler Moss?

Off topic sorta, have you guys got either a number you guys use on your “race” cars and or certain colors you prefer?

And still some time if anybody else wants to join up, 3 more will give us 10. Again, deadline for tune is August 27th.

What’s going on fellas?! I guess it’s getting to be that time. I say let’s go for this coming Sunday at noon, eastern time (Ohio), have all tunes submitted along with any last minute entries. I still need to narrow down what I am going to run in this. Anyway, good luck in this and any other comps you’re running.

Now how is it you tune drag cars again…

I was struggling a bit, lol!!

Shared my gmc syclone. Requires manual no clutch (awd to RWd swap) full throttle launch might need a slight bump of the steering to
The right at launch to
Keep it straight. … I know, not very creative…

May not be the fastest but I’ve hit high 8.4s in my 78 mustang II king cobra. The tune is shared as “S DRAG 1/4 MSS”

Shared my Plymouth Prowler. Try as I might I coudn’t get it to run consistently under 8.6. Best I could get it was using 4 gears and Max rear aero LOL.

Thank you guys for getting your cars up and running!! Down to me and Alf. I’ll have mine done in a little bit. Alf, you have until noon tomorrow, eastern time, not sure your time. Pretty sure you’re ahead of us.

Feel free to run all these cars yourselves also. I’m gonna run a bunch of runs with clutch and then a bunch without clutch. I’ll have times up asap.

Thank you all for joining this!!

Thanks for running this, Zepp! I’m looking forward to seeing the damage!

Alright, I’m gonna run the '02 Camaro Z/28. Pretty consistant 8.4-8.5 range. It’ll do a full throttle launch, I did best bringing RPMs up at 1 on the countdown.

Good luck!!

First couple runs in with what’s available. Nice cars eveeybody!!

Alright race fans!! We’ve got everybody’s ride all tuned up and ready to run. Grab the tunes and have fun if you’re gonna give them a go. Post up your best time for each car.

I will get going on making my runs, both clutch and no clutch for good measure. I’ll give my results as soon as possible. It might take a little time but I’m hoping to get some paints for everybody’s cars worked up in the next few days.

Thank you all again for partaking in this comp!!
