Majority of V8 sounds are terrible in the game

I wish they would just take the best samples from FM 4, 5, 6 and 7, and touch up or improve those.

I can’t believe we’re dealing with another FM game with bad sounds.

Losing that audio genius guy after FM 4 to Polyphony may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Listen to GT Sport ans GT 7. I think the guy’s name was Caveizel? Brilliant sound engineer!

This granular synthesis audio engine has got to go. It’s rubbish.

I think the cars sounds are mostly strange and unreal. FH5 sounds were way better and the sounds should be swapped to at least those sounds.

Totally agree mate. They should go back to FM 5 sounds. Those were epic. The dynamic range was almost perfect.

Totally agree!
Audi 5-cyl are best examples here.
IMSA GTO sounds in RL just BRUTAL, in FM it’s boring as redacted

Yes!
Fm7 is better

I literally just created a post about the terrible V8 sounds in the game and the generally poor job they’ve done across the board.

T10 better have a plan cos I feel like it would be a really BAD idea to invest in any T10 products in future. It doesn’t look or sound like a AAA flagship Xbox title.

For cars like the Cadillac V series.R and the Corvette C8.R i think the engine sounds are good but I have a problem with the engine sounds from the C7.R Corvette, it does not have that muscular growl of the real life car and sounds more like a deep sounding v6 and the gearbox whine volume is too high and overlaps the engine sound even on the outside of the car, i would like to see that they change the sound of the engine to a lower growl sound of a V8 like the real car and lower the volume of the gearbox whine because right now it just sounds terrible especially for a car like the Corvette C7.R which in real life sounds like an absolute monster

Sorry but the very best the pinnacle was Forza Motorsport 4 for pretty much everything… Specially FOR PROPER GENUINE RICHFULL ENGINE SOUND… Engine swap… Everyone was so perfect and we never had a remastered or at least backward compatibility…

Some people don’t know what they do and are not at the right place I think

This!!! If we can make your post stick and be woted up maybe they see this and actually make a change to this because it’s a huge let down.

Every time I play the game it’s a slap in the face: *Do not pay $100 for an unfinished product, you already have great sounds in Forza Motorsport 4, 5 and 6".

I’m not gonna trash the game… mostly the changeable ep based upgrade system is an genius move (didnt played older parts so i dont know if its a new move)
but… i bought it only because it got the c6 corvette (call me dumb :D) but soundwise… jeremy clarkson would say “lets be kind lets say its difficult” i’m really sad about it.
Not that i’m gonna compare them but in this case Motorfest is lightyears ahead.
I would love getting the sounds fixed.

Somehow I feel that devs should emulate car sound effects reality more like it recorded in drag strip youtube videos with good quality microphones. There is really large volume adaptibility in those and much like humans tend to adapt ot at least feel how sound behaves.

Currently in game sound is progressively louder as revs/load goes up and technically it is that but in real world (recording or in person) idle sounds can be real deal loud and deep and recording adapts from there… there just is not enough volume and bass in game engine sounds compared to real world or even recording of real world.
Idle and low revs (well really all…) just are very far from feel I get from for an example drag strip youtube videos (-> in person even more forcefully, but even recordings keep lot of authenticity)

Just leaving a comment here so this gets bumped up. You are on the money mate. The cars need to sound rich with detail, impact, dynamic range and powerful bass not just at high revs and redline but also idle and low to mid torque range.

The nuances in the rev ranges are not there. Just the other day I got into a GT350 cos somebody on Reddit was complaining how bad it sounds.

Yep… FM 6 and 7 has beautiful detail in the engine and exhaust notes of that car. It’s as if they took a butter knife and scraped all that beautiful engine noise detail from the previous games right off.

Despicable audio for most cars. Not acceptable at all. $100 and 6 years reportedly for a half baked half hearted product.

Sorry I’m not very good with english !

I just want to say that TURBO SOUND is too much strong, an exemple with F40 : This car do not have this “PSHT” noise of turbo (It´s smaller)…but ALL cars with TURBO have the same problem.

FM7 is realy better with TURBO sound !!

They should atleast use fh5 sounds, way Better than we have now and hire sound engineers

Agree that something needs to change. The Shelby Cobra 427 is a quiet as a church mouse. I’m no car audiophile, but that should sound like a big angry 7l V8 that’s trying to rip the sky apart for daring to be above it. At a minimum is it possible to implement some kind of exhaust note tuning similar to what they did in NFS Heat? Not a great racer but had some fantastic audio.

I wonder why the car sounds are not getting improved at the same pace as the other issues or concerns.

I do not like my cars to sound quiet, compressed and “far away” in a tunnel.

I want them loud and impactful. And the real sounds please, not made up or “yeah, close enough” sounds.

It feels like all of the car sounds are just programmed and simulated. Put in some values of the engine and parts in the sound engine and get a generic sound from it.

Nothing like a recording of the actual car like they did for FH5 (video). This captures the unique characteristics of each car, something that cannot be recreated by just putting in some numbers.
