Apologies in advanced if this is not the proper way to go about this, and for the fact you probably get many of these posted. I have however filled out a ‘ticket’ for a lost saved data and not yet had a response so trying my luck here.
Anyway, so obviously I’ve lost my entire progress on FH4 on XB1. This happened on 16th Jan. Basically I work in retail and a month or so ago I managed to get some stock in to set up a PC gaming rig to demo on shop floor. I signed into my Microsoft account (aka my xbox account) and installed the FH4 demo. Had no issues til the other day when the work PC asked what save file I wanted to use (local or cloud) I believe I remember selecting local but whatever I’ve done seems to be the reason my save file has ‘desynced’ or something from the xbox also. I tried deleting the local save data from the XBOX to force it to resync with the cloud save but it just brought back the brand new save. I’d just had a week off work and spent a decent amount of time on this game so would love to have that progress back if possible. Just got into learning to tune cars and had some good set ups I’d spent a lot of time on so that’s the main upset.

You signed in to YOUR personal account for a work PC? Are you insane? Anything could have happened to that in your absence and clearly it did.
You have lost your data due to multiple sign ins and outs and at some point it’s hasn’t finished syncing, before it’s been interrupted somehow. So now you have to wait for the developers to get back to you. If they even do. Anything that happens on YOUR account YOU are responsible for, so anyone could have gone on to that account and caused all kinds of trouble for you. Even if they haven’t doesn’t mean they won’t at some point. NEVER leave YOUR personal account signed in while you are not around, especially in a public environment like a shop!
Hi, my account was only signed in during my presence and it was only the FH4 demo that was installed. I did not believe whatever happened on the demo would affect my full game save.
As stated, the progress only disappeared after I was presented with that message on the PC, I don’t believe it was anything to do with interrupted syncing as my progress was never synced to the PC, it was a demo that always started from the beginning.
I appreciate the concern of my account security but don’t believe that’s the issue here.
The demo shouldn’t affect a normal FH4 game. If you’ve submitted a ticket, the support team will look into this soon as they may need more account information but unfortunately we’ve had an increase in tickets and this is causing a slightly delay.
