Looking for racing wheel for forza

I’m looking for suggestions on racing wheels / setups ?

Are they even worth having?

My budget is $400-$500

Also sorry in advance moderators if I posted this in the wrong section

I’ve had a TMX for just over a week and use it mostly for drifting where the ffb feels wonky, but the few times I raced it felt pretty good ffb wise. It was about 260 Canadian so 199 US. I also got the t3pa pedals from thrust-master and while it took awhile to get used to I feel like it was a good buy for a wheel compatible with xbox one and pc. If you are looking for a higher quality wheel look into the Thrustmaster TX or Logitech g920.

My brother has the G920 and drives very well with it. I can’t drive with it to save myself on FM6 but I like it on project cars.
He’s as quick or often quicker with the wheel than I am with the controller.

I just picked up a Logitech G920 for $300 w free H shifter from Newegg. I’m really happy with it for the most part. I’m disappointed that I have to turn rumble and vibration off or it messes with the force feedback, but it’s a worthy sacrifice. I still need to take the pedals out of the case and reverse mount them in my rig but they feel decent as is. I almost bought the TX Leather Edition but for the price I couldn’t pass on the 920. My main gripe with it is there are no available e brakes. I’m not willing to diy that mod.

I don’t know if it would be worth it to you, but for me it is. No question. The entire experience is more rewarding.

Very happy with the G920, especially after quite a bit of tinkering with the settings until it was to my liking. Less happy with the Logitech shifter. I’ve only had the shifter a few days and it feels nothing like a true shifter in a car. Clutch activation is better than expected, but the shifts are really sloppy and toylike. I would stick with the wheel and paddles.

Thanks for the advice guys. I’m also considering the elite controller if anyone has tried it I can use some feedback

I have the G920 w/ shifter as well. The wheel overall is great and the shifter is meh. Shifts do feel sloopyish and it does feel you like, but for 57.00 bucks…can’t expect a TX shifter. I do like using it verse the paddles. I will be modding my shifter soon probably. Overall…G920 has been a great experience.

If it’s your first FFB wheel, be patient. It will take some getting used to and read, read, read how diffrent people set there’s up. Find the settings that suite you. GL!

I have Thrustmaster TX leather edition mounted on an Open Wheeler mount and an Elite controller. I would say it depends on what you want out of the game. I love the wheel, don’t get me wrong. It is an absolute blast and a challenge. But I only use it in “career” and rivals. If I’m trying to be competitive I always use my controller. As the game is designed to be used primarily with a controller there are assists built into the controller that you don’t even notice until they’re not there. I’m always faster on the controller. One of them is its easier to survive contract, given the state of MP lobbies, that’s a huge plus. My hands down favorite thing about the Elite controller is the interchangeable sticks. I love having the longer left stick to steer with. One sentiment I would echo from other wheel users with serious set ups is of you only plan to play Forza you probably don’t want an expensive wheel set up.

Wheel and ffb support in Forza is so bad I wouldn’t even bother. If you want to experience the true potential of a wheel on Xbox Onego buy Project CARS GOTY, Dirt Rally or wait for Assetto Corsa.

I agree. I have a TX and it’s awesome… On Project Cars. I am 2-3 seconds faster w a controller on Forza. Online racing is particularly bad on the wheel, contact is close to a death sentence.
