Hey everyone,
I want to get smoother at racing any my gut is telling me that a wheel is the only way to achieve this.
Can anyone recommend a good wheel and pedal set?
Thanks all

Thrustmaster tx wheel and thrustmaster t3pa pro add on. Then go ahead and get the th8a shifter as well. Had a few issues at first with Forza 6 but now i got it dialed in and it is an awesome setup. Of course you gotta get a good rig to mount this stuff to as well.
I got a Logitech G920 a few weeks ago and it’s working out just fine. It’s curious that Logitech timed the release of their new kit to almost exactly coincide with the release of FM6, and now there’s a Logitech G Car Pack? That sounds like a ringing endorsement to me!
I don’t know if it is possible to change the sensitivity on the G-920, but you can with the TX, and it’s important to achieve a smoother feeling with Forza 6
I own Logitech G920, but I’m not particularily happy with it. The wheel is rather small and FFB is not very strong. It’s not a bad wheel, but far from great.
I might be trying Thrustmaster later on, although price is similar so I can’t imagine it’s that much better.
If you have the money go for the Fanatec CSW v2
If you can’t afford a CSW v2 it depends on what’s more important to you…better FFB (Thrustmaster TX) or reliability (Logitech G920).
After reading all the horror stories about the TX, I personally chose reliability and went for the G920 and I like it very much.
Ha Fanatec, its an over priced paper weight, failure rate just as bad as Thrustmaster, which seems to have a handle on it now,i own 2 Tx’s and the one I am using now has been good since early 2014 but I have a new back up just in case. Logitech or Thrustmaster, the choice is yours.
Just received my G920 and it’s great so far. It is by no means equal to my previous Fanatec wheel in terms of FFB but it will do for X1.
I was initially frustrated by the massive oversteer I was experiencing but that may have to do with the simulation steering setting. Once I switched to normal steering, the cars started behaving a lot more realistically. Seems like T10 need to fix the simulation setting for wheels, it definitely felt like it was multiplying my turning inputs.
Simulation steering works just fine (actually better in the G920 than normal steering). It is probably your DOR setting or your driving style what’s causing the oversteer.
There’s a guide for wheel users in the discussion forum section that I recommend you to read. There are also other posts discussing the oversteer issues.
On the other hand if you’re already happy with how it feels with normal steering, it’s all good…I just wanted to point out that there’s nothing wrong with simulation steering.
I’m with you on the normal steering, I’ve been using that setting since FM4, as it was even recommended by Fanatec back then (they called simulation ‘drift’).
People fixate on simulation steering and then use ridiculous DORs (I’ve seen even 270) to compensate for that. Stick to what works best for you.
What DOR setting would you recommend for simulation steering? I normally stick to 900 for road cars but that didn’t work for me with this game.
Usually lower DOR are more prone to cause oversteer. At 900 you should be fine so I’m guessing in your case it has more to do with lift off oversteer or approaching corners too fast. Like I mentioned, there are a couple of threads about that topic in the general discussion section if you want to read more about it.
I personally have it at 630 but anywhere between 630 and 900 works for me, I just prefer 630 because it allows me to turn faster in hairpins
