Livery confusion

Hi everyone,

I’m new here so I’m not sure if I can post this here since this topic has covered…kind of so I figured I’d ask.

I’m trying to make a police livery for my Crown Vic but really it applies to any decal that is placed on an opposing side. It comes out backwards when applying it to opposite side of the car. Someone mentioned negative scaling the size but all does for me is rotate it upside down and not left to right. I even tried to make it backwards intentionally but that just put it on backwards still. I know people said that this part (decals) in Forza games has been a bit buggy but I’m likely just not doing something correctly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, FH3 is my first Forza game.

Thanks

After you’ve made your design for one side of the car, go to the other side and instead of adding a new layer, select “insert vinyls from other side” (or something to that effect). In most cases (I haven’t encountered any glitches yet, but I wouldn’t rule them out), your design will copy over, but it will be backwards. It’s enough for you to use as a guide though. Go back to the first side of the car and individually copy any logos you have made, then paste them on the second side of the car. Using the backwards vinyls for reference, move the copied correct ones into position before deleting the backwards ones.

Pardon my “noobness”, but I’m not quite sure I understand how to flip it around from being backwards. The decal I have made is multiple layers so it all moves, copies, etc. as one entire piece. I don’t know how to get it to appear in the right direction on both sides.

I don’t know if I’m able to, but I’ll post pictures of the original when I get online after while and show it looks after I insert it on the other side.

after you paste it on the first side (I always start on the right since the lighting is better, so I’ll use that terminology here)) then when you go to the other side and copy everything over, that’s when it’s backwards I take it.
So, after you have it backwards on the ‘left’ side, go back to the ‘right’ side, and copy the group . Then switch back to the ‘left’ side and paste it in the end blank section. Then move it so it’s positioned over the backwards one, then delete (cut) the backwards one. Do that with every backwards group on the second side.
Or of course, if you just paste the group in on both sides you shouldn’t have an issue- it should only present a problem when copying the second side from the first.

That makes more sense. I tried that method and it worked perfectly. Thanks guys for your replies
