Hey guys, im no expert livery designer but I know one thing I had problems with in the editor was flipping designs, found a work-around, its probably already known by many but for those that don’t i thought id share it with you.
If you’re working on say the top/front bumper/rear bumper and have a shape that you want to be flipped for the other side, instead of having to change the size, spin, skew etc and match it all inversely you can just copy that layer to the left or right side of the car then go to the opposite side and if you go to a new layer one of the options will be to copy all from left to right (or vice versa), then just cut all the other duplicated layers that you dont want (can help to highlight all layers and group them before pasting your shape in for complex designs), cut the shape from the side of the car and re-copy it back to the area you want it.
It will sometimes be upside down so you may have to spin it 180 degrees but everything else should be already copied with the mirrored dimensions.
When “copying from left to right” it mirrors any groups or shapes you have, the only thing that wont mirror is manufacturer decals which you wouldnt want flipped anyway.
Seems more complicated than it is, would be much simpler if they just implemented a “flip” feature, but you get pretty quick at it once you do it a few times.
Also, This will work on grouped layers aswell but if its something with text or an actual picture then it will obviously mirror everything so keep that in mind.
Sorry if i’ve posted this in the wrong section.
Hope this helps, im off to bed now.
