Liveries - Players getting Too Many Saves when trying to import vinyl or liveries from FH5 (1667962)

I wasn’t going to let it win; the truth is that the issue was bothering me quite a bit.

Analyzing the situation, I came to the conclusion that in the cloud, some designs get synchronized. Those designs are mine and include vinyls.

Chatting with @FMA Tuner :argentina:, to whom I am very grateful, he said, “What if you fill a car with vinyls?” And yes, what he suggested made a lot of sense. I saw which car to do it with and tried it. I tried it with three cars before, and none of them worked. I even removed them from synchronization.

So, I went with the oldest car painted and unique in my garage, a car that when @Juanchy TML / @JuanchyPadel sold me the Forza Edition controller, I made for him with the design of the Ford Deluxe, an MK II Jaguar.

I loaded it, filled it with vinyls, and OVERWROTE the previous design. (All in Forza Horizon 5 on the PC)

I went to the TV, to the Cloud, synchronized the FH cars, and there appeared the one we were looking for! The carrier of the first 11,000 layers of vinyl.

An unorthodox way to import data, but effective.

Now I’m going to see if I can take another 11,000 layers to get the entire creative center.

Thanks for following this story.

for me it’s “Solved” Thanks

i’m glad you got to import your vinyls. did the same as suggested early on but boy what a tedious pain to do

it’s not really “solved” though. it’s a time-consuming workaround for a module that always worked but the FM team chose to overlook the max limits raised in FH5 and wasn’t QC tested as the rest of the game.

i stopped using this workaround as painting in FM2023 is horrible. it’s dark. clunky. and colors aren’t true

FH5 Content Import is STILL broken after the newest patch. As stated, it’s the sync error that’s going on, not to be mixed with the other importing issue.

to be honest it’s not solved really, already imported some vinyls but here’s the complete fails i ve seen.

I would like to report the errors I have detected in my game and provide some context. I play on PC with the following specifications:

Processor: Intel Core i5 8400
Motherboard: Gigabyte B360 AORUS GAMING 3 WIFI
RAM: DDR4 32GB at 3200MHz
SSD: 512GB M.2
Graphics card: RTX 2060 Super 8GB

So far, the game has worked excellently, maintaining a constant 60 frames per second. However, I have encountered a problem when trying to load my libraries in Forza Motorsport, importing them from Forza Horizon 5. I receive a synchronization error message indicating that the operation cannot be carried out.

My copy of Forza Horizon 5 is purchased through the Microsoft Store platform, although I also have it on Steam. Since April 2023, I have chosen to exclusively use the Microsoft platform.

The issue lies in the inability to synchronize both vinyl and designs. Although I can access my account through the cloud and view my vinyl with some delay in loading times, I cannot perform the proper synchronization. When trying to import them, an error occurs indicating that there are too many layers in the design, specifically 999,999,999 layers.

As an additional test, using the cloud service and a common car in both games, I filled the car with vinyl and then I can “peel them off” and save them, with a significant delay in its operation.

The cloud service allows synchronization, but at a considerably slower speed and fails to synchronize the designs of all cars, only some. Regarding vinyl, it synchronizes all of them but does not allow importation due to the aforementioned error.

This way, I managed to export and import my vinyl from Forza Horizon 5 to Forza Motorsport, but in Forza Motorsport, I cannot use them due to the slow performance it exhibits. On the PC directly, I cannot carry out the synchronization process.
here’s the video with explanation.

D0n Wally, livery works

Why is this not being addressed like ever, as a tuner who buys a car and puts at leadt 3 tunes on it immediately i have no longer been able to save or download tunes!its excruciating to spend hrs a day levelimg a car up and then another few hrs deleting hard work

Same issue here importing old work I’ll be darned if I’m going to spend hours redrawing vinyl groups when I have nearly 800 already to go from previous titles, glad I’m playing game pass version I’d be angry if I had paid for this broken mess

I saved space by grouping vinyls, tyre pack, brand pack oil fuel pack… fixed my Too many saves problem as i was at max capacity in FH5

same i resorted to getting my vinyls off imported cars

Hello everyone,

I want to update you on the issue we are all experiencing with Forza Motorsport libraries.

I conducted a test in Forza Horizon 5, organizing all my vinyls into groups based on style (wheels, car parts, brands in general), reducing from 1200 individual vinyls to less than 30 groups.

After this, using the Game Pass cloud service, I was able to synchronize and download my vinyls (the recently created groups). I’m almost certain that by grouping and deleting vinyls, I eliminated some that were causing conflicts in the game’s database. By removing these, I was able to import successfully.

Now, I continue to investigate by directly deleting designs to see if I can synchronize on PC without relying on the cloud service.

I’ll keep you posted =)
Greetings,
Wally

After Update 3, on PC, MS Store version, I’m STILL unable to sync my liveries and stickers from FH5 (also on MS Store), with the same error “Syncing your saved files from a previous Forza title failed. Please try again later.” popping up. Except now this error comes up faster than in Update 1/2.

Whilst I can import liveries and stickers through Game Pass Ultimate cloud gaming service, this is hardly a workaround as you have to pay 15€ / month to access the cloud gaming service, and no way I’m gonna pay for that when I expect the importer to work, like it does for past Forza titles.

unable to save and create tunes because of this?.. Auto saved tunes filling all the space… Car level systems making it impossible to have multiple cars with different tunes on them

COME ON Turn10 sort it out. There isn’t any easy way to delete tunes either its not centrally managed in the file manager. You need to go in to each car and delete the tunes and bulk are the auto save ones!

Lol what’s up mod

I ran into this 2 weeks ago and I’ve been actively deleting tunes since this game came out knowing this was going to happen

Now I’m deleting stuff and people are messaging me asking where a tune they liked has gone

Did anyone here post this in the suggestions forum? Maybe even post in the issues forum. Possible they don’t know about it, and could fix it in the future. A real shame, and boneheaded issue to have to deal with.

Not specifically the issue of liveries not even syncing, only liveries not importing on Steam and the too many save file issue. Still no acknowledgement of the issue many players face where they can’t even sync the files to view, let alone import, from Horizon 5!
