Is there any any chance to add settings to do the following:
(1) Turn off or or at least massively reduce bonnet reflections. Driving in this view is an absolute pain with those shifting reflections.
(2) Reduce the sunlight intensity. It might look ‘pretty’ and all that but there are multiple instances when you are completely blinded by those needlessly overdone sunset (etc) effects.
Sorry, I know this doesn’t help but the sunlight effects are not overdone. You DO get blinded by the sun on a real track when the sun is low and there’s a haze or clouds hovering around the sun. In fact, at times the sun light bouncing off the track can also be blinding unless the track has specific kind of tarmac to deflect light.
As for good reflections, that’s just the paintwork and it does reflect the surroundings IRL too. Switch to a carbon fibre bonnet or paint your bonnet matte or something. There’s lots you can do.
That’s like saying there’s too much detail in the rear view mirrors and it’s distracting so please tone it down…
Sorry. Doesn’t help I know, just had to put it out there, lol
On the “real” track, you can use actual “real” sunglasses to avoid this. Let’s not settle for a half-real approach and instead, add an additional layer of unnecessary and pointless distraction.
Repainting the bonnet was the first thing I tried…and that doesn’t work either.
Generally speaking the lighting is ok but there are instances (driving towards the bus stop in sunset at Indianapolis being one of the most obvious) where the levels of intensity are completely ott. At the end of the day though it is a racing game…and reducing the ability to drive precisely for the sake of ‘pretty’ effects is incredibly counter-intuitive stuff.
After the disappointment of the multiplayer aspect of FMS I’ve switched my attention back to GT7 and the one thing that struck me was how much more subtle it’s lighting was, so maybe T10 should take a look ‘over there’ to witness the difference such a small thing can make to the overall driving experience.
