Just finished the career DPI races to get the Beretta, boy am I perplexed by it…
Why does it sound like a Civic on a straight pipe? The sounds are garbage.
Why does this car (and other classic race cars) “stock” tires feel like running on marbles? I know tire tech has improved since these cars raced, but I don’t buy that they were that bad in the 80’s or 90’s. I can understand the semi treaded 60’s tires being a bit sloppy, but not something 20 years newer…
I’m not shocked that another car has crappy engine sounds. I wish we the players or testers could be the sound team boss. Idk why it’s so hard to replicate. Again another reason why I asked for the testers to have audio choices for the car they are testing so the team could vote on the ones liked best and reasons why. Makes me not even wana finish those races to get that car…
Have you done any of those bmw pro car races on fm side when they were available? Heck that car running on street tires if I remember correctly the first time they hosted it has so much grip. Exit from there to free run and blah car handles like crap. I’m sure they got lap time and setup simulators idk why they can’t mimic real life lap times and base the traction off that.
It really doesn’t sound any good. I don’t know how it should sound but it doesn’t sound good.
You know its a V6, right?
True, but the Baretta is a running a Chevy v6. They didnt sound all that good.
Well aware, both this and the Buick should sound similar (like the video tommyfon posted). The racing 90° V6 is nothing like the 60° V6 from the street cars.
I want Sonoma ASAP in the game.
Point taken…
I just got finished running the Regal Trans Am in the game, and when I ran the Baretta, I did wonder why the Baretta sounds so different.
So, I admit I was off on that one.
The Baretta’s engine sounds is one for the Trouble Shooting hub.
I adore that car… Whenever Turn 10 puts forth American Motorsport History it’s a delight for me, those cars are really rare in video games. All this IMSA and SCCA heritage is amazing and I sure hope they have a lot more in the process of reaching the game next year.
Old european and japanese race cars also welcome
That’s why I get mad and frustrated when they get the details wrong. T-10 is still a long way off from bringing in a full Trans Am list of cars. We have 1 1970 season car, 3 late 80’s/early 90’s cars and then the modern set.
GTX is still an unbalanced mess that needs to be divided out to Gr. 5/GT500/GT300/Trans Am/GTX (IMSA)/GTO (IMSA).
Yep that’s why ideally things should be brought up as a pair, at least. Like if you bring in a 155 DTM V6 Ti without the Opel Calibra or Mercedes C Class, it’s bittersweet.
May be hard logistically to time things but Turn 10 is a big studio and their parent company is none other than Microsoft
Well, they did create a new division with the addition of the 1970 Parnelli Jones Mustang (Vintage Trans Am), so we know adding/adjusting divisions is possible.
What are you expecting the sounds Le Mans? This is the grand olde sounds of the 24 Hours of Lemons.
Hello. I’m the owner of the actual 1988 Chevrolet Beretta Trans-Am/ IMSA GTO race car #77 that was used to create the car for the Forza video game. The engine is a Chevrolet 4.5 liter V6 odd fire ignition that was used in Trans Am and IMSA racing in the late 1980’s. It definitely has a very different exhaust sound due to the V6 engine, race headers and side exhausts. I have been racing it in vintage race events since 2006, and it will be racing at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion in August at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey California. Come to the event and see/ hear it for yourself.
So, may I pose this question to you? Does it sound correct in the game? Does the game do it justice?
Sounds have been a point of contention for quite a while now (even in the Horizon series).
