Chevrolet #76 Greenwood Corvette 1976 - engine audio

Hello sound team,

The engine sound, it sound does not sound authentic, sounds like a copy and paste of many cars. We would like to see this fixed.

Here’s authentic race car footage to help improve the sound of this car.

Actual footage racing

Hope this helps,
Thanks

I excitedly bought this car for the American Road Racing championship but was disappointed upon hearing a generic, robotic, loopy sounding and oscillating engine sound with no real depth, character or dynamic range.

Please update the sound on this car in all views, thank you.

Agreed. It sounds nothing like a monster racing big block V8. Some of the sounds are so bad on these cars that it makes me not want to drive them.

There are so many details missing not just in this car but generally most cars in Forza. The on-throttle grunt, power, and punch is missing. The off-throttle rumble and “breathing” is missing from the notes. Downshifts and upshifts do not sound correct for many cars. Forced induction sounds are not unique and generic in most cases. They are still holding on tightly to their library of generic V8 and V12 notes and customising them with effects and EQ to add some variation. So all American V8s will sound a certain way and all Euro V8s will sound a certain way. All V12’s from a certain manufacturer will sound the same. It’s so weird, how could we not notice? It’s a cheap and terrible practice.

They’ve just taken so many shortcuts, it makes me really mad I tell you. All it takes is spending some time with the car if it’s accessible or at least conducting research online to try and nail the character as closely as possible.

But nope, with many cars, it’s like they didn’t even try. “Yep, close enough, let’s go with that one, people will not notice the difference.”

YES, we do
