Let's talk about audio

PG made some audio engineering changes to FH5 this update. I’m detecting a good bit more piston punch. It’s quite nice. Take notes T10.

Anyone who has ever had a car that is represented in this game (or a variation of) is appalled at the sounds. The number of high performance V8’s that I or friends have owned sound nothing like what is in this game. There is no bottom end to most of them.

My stroker 408 small block Dodge has more bite than any of the big block cars in game. If you use surround sound for game audio, those cars should shake the windows when built up.

Yet they don’t, sadly.

For that, there’s FM5. Legendary sound engineering. Proper use of 5.1 channels.

Oh did they? Man, I’m tempted to buy FH5 just for the sounds because the high performance cars sound so off in FM. Makes me want to quit and switch to other driving games.

Out of curiosity, I was looking at some gameplay videos of Project Cars 3. How is it possible that a smaller team with a considerably smaller budget managed to get their cars sounding so good and accurate to real life?

I just don’t get it. Where is the developers budget going? Aren’t these licensed cars in Forza? They’re supposed to sound like the actual ones.

The LaFerrari one especially, crazy how close it sounds to the actual car. Which I’ve sat in and heard many times from hardly a few feet away. Shocking!

Here’s another one with the 918 and P1 sound absolutely spot on. Nailed it.

The Ferraris in this one are a faithful recreation of their real life sound. Brilliant job.

In this replay, it doesn’t sound like anything you would hear IRL with souped up classic muscle cars on the track.

Dreadful sounding modified classic V8 sounds in replays

Can’t wait for the car audio improvements in this game.

SO sorely needed.

This one is a sound comparison I did on my own YouTube channel, it is for one of the cars that are currently “Bug-logged” which is the 430 Scuderia. I shared this on the post specific for it in the car issues too…this is for demonstration on how the car sounds downgraded throughout the franchise in-general.

FM5 and FM6 had excellent sounds if not accurate sounds most of the time, FM7 ruined it and FM just ruined it even more, the sad thing is the rest of N/A V8 Ferrari’s use that same sound file you hear on the 430 Scuderia on FM. Talk about laziness and incompetence.

I wanted to repost it here just to demonstrate

Unrelated but the pics of the back of the LaFerrari reminded me of how badly they modeled the car’s mesh testure in FM2023, serisouly the gaps in it are inches big, and there was never a problem with the model before what happened, and then the sound on top of that… man this game

Dodge Stealth R/T sounds amazing though, even though I never play the game these days I will not forget that rich sporty engine note & aggressive turbo sound

LaFerrari really needs a modelling update. Even the active aero isn’t modelled per the real car at different speeds. And that suppressed and weak sound… Horrible. It sounded great on launch. Then it got the “wrong” sound from the 812, just like all the other modern V12 Ferraris.

It sickens me and I hate playing a game with broken or makeshift car sounds. Ferrari ought to sue these guys for giving such lovely machines unbelievably poor sounds.

That explains a lot

Umm,that’s just a screen shot. Where’s the actual video?

Huh? There’s no video it’s just a screen shot :face_with_monocle::thinking:

Dude, stop posting this! It’s just a screen shot. There’s no video :face_with_monocle:

That guy is the one who BUTCHERED most of the cars’ engine sounds. He NEEDS to learn how actual cars sound REAL.
