Let's talk about audio

No, I mean the sounds are completely swapped. They’re just as weird as they were before with new base sounds. The ‘singing’ loops caused by misaligned samples etc. The CGT doesn’t sound horribly off now imho. Especially in cockpit cam. 2JZ has the weird FM characteristics but the samples sound similar to FH5s. Same for the Demon.

I think we need to be more clear about what the problems are. Is it the samples or is it how they’re using samples to recreate the effect of an engine ( the way they’re looping them. mixing them. etc etc ). Imho it’s both, but the bigger issue is how they’re looping and mixing them. The sample misalignment that causes a kind of doppler effect. Makes them ‘sing’ as it were.

The cockpit sound of CGT isn’t the issue. The chase cam sound is. The way the car makes the sound and then when compared with the real life version, the exhaust notes are compressed even if it sounds correct they could have decompressed the sound a little more to have the rawness. As for the Supra and Demon, it’s way off from its actual car.
I wish we had these sounds in the game

I tell you it’s both. Trust me. They really need to come forward and listen to the real sounds of the car, re-record them. No need for them to apply their worst sound mixings which entirely ruins the sound of the car.

I tested the CGT and it’s not waaay off from that now. Has the signature sound that it should have.

There’s a bug where your selected surround mode won’t have its full dynamic range unless it’s walked through another mode and then back to the mode you want on Xbox. Idk about a PC fix. Don’t have a PC currently.

Say you’re running Dolby Atmos right? In order for this to sound remotely correct ( aka less compressed ) you have to go into xbox audio settings. Pick any of the other modes and then pick Dolby Atmos directly after it to jog the dynamic range 'n such to where it should be. Have to do this every time you change cars. It’s like the game’s stuck in soundbar mode or something. FH5 used to have this problem, but they fixed it a while back.

I’ve made a few ‘tickets’ on this issue, but they doesn’t get any traction.

Well I use PC though. While I do agree with you for the cgt. I still cannot make my mind about the supra and demon. Is there anything we can do about this? I am being serious about this issue and a lot of us are quite frustrated.

Unless we can get them to completely change how the car engines are simulated, I don’t think so. Shame that both FH and FM don’t use the same simulation method. FH sounds totally acceptable in most cases.

It’s a shame that both games are simulated differently. But can we get them to completely change? I have done enough of posting to be honest and what’s annoying that they closed it calling it “Fixed” whereas the Supra and Demon sound were not updated completely. In those posts I provided the Youtube videos of real life cars that had the rev, acceleration sound and flybys. The car sounds in FM2023 does not come near to their real life counterparts. There are loads of other cars having worst and inaccurate sounds. I thought they bug-logged the issue so they must be busy fixing the sound completely. But the tiny little change wasn’t what we hoped for.

It’s a shame that all racing game car engine audio is simulated differently imho, but that’s a totally different conversation.

@Gojo665 I’ve noticed quite a few of your sound topics being closed by @JetPartySalad and it’s making my disappointment in the game turn into frustration and anger.

You put in alot of time to show thd devs how wrong the car sounds are and after months of votes and others raising the issue of poor sounds they just close the topic.

The sounds are NOT right. Amyone with ears can tell that. Sounds are a MASSIVE part of car culture but most of all IMMERSION. I don’t feel like I’m driving a 355 it doesn’t sound like one! Realistic car sounds was a jewel in Forza’s crown, now its an embarrassment.

This behaviour just confirms that the devs no longer have a passion for detail or cars in general and this is just a ‘product’ they pushed out. It also confirms they’re not testing these updates before they release them and don’t really care about what the players are saying.

Yeah I noticed. This is becoming quite ugly at this point and very very irritating. I don’t get it? Usually we are told “is the issue fixed in the recent update or not”, but nope, it’s getting closed out without any prompts. I am shocked and extremely saddened by this behaviour. You must have noticed I had to re-create the sound topic for Supra and Demon again right? This is because the cars did not get their rightful sounds, it’s that simple. I don’t know who is in charge of the sound team but I guess they should look at the games which has proper cars sounds, not only other games but their previous sequels as well. All my hardworks are going in vain now. I provided enough youtube links of stock and tuned sounding supras of real life car in nice and easy plain english. All I did was requesting them to use those and give a complete sound update for those cars. Was it too hard for them? We the car guys who have seen and heard with our ears of every single engine sound, we know how a car should sound. Their love for cars is gone and it is becoming apparent that they only gonna focus on the gameplay than the cars. Now my question would be, why did they Fix the sound of LFA then? They could have just closed the issue and called it “Fixed”. What is the logic behind fixing that LFA sound then but closing out the issues I posted which they think is fixed but in reality its not? I WANT ANSWERS. Any lame ideas they got thinking that just a smidge change on the sound is making a difference and calling it a fix won’t work.

This is sickening and I cannot stand it anymore.

They fail on this part too

Bruh. Like what wrong did I do? I just asked them to give a complete sound update using the samples of real life cars and they are calling it fixed out of the blue and closing down the issues I posted. None of them are fixed. None of the cars got their complete sound update. None of the cars got their respective and rightful sounds.

We gotta do something about this matter man. I just cannot stand this behaviour. I have had patience and we should do something to give the cars their rightful sounds through sound update.

I’ve seen several marked as fixed, but they’re not. I’d call them half-assed at best. 2010 M3 GTS isn’t even close. I think this is best we’ll get from this audio team. Like ‘oh it’s done. I made a change to the sound’. Not gonna get anywhere near accurate I’m afraid.

What I don’t understand is that they should already have the real recordings of all the cars, I’m sure they showed this in one of the previous titles - that they record the sounds (in great detail) when they scan the car.

This is evident from how good the sounds in previous titles are, including FH.
So this suggests to me that they simply just don’t care about accuracy and this attitude is going to sink the series altogether.

Sound got fixed wow. Meanwhile I tested this car yesterday and no sound got fixed. It’s still the same wrong sound and The devs noted the issue and calling it “fixed” I think this keyword “Fixed” is becoming a meme

If they said this instead of closing then I wouldn’t have been this angry.

Wow

I understand better what you was saying on an other post.

I’m chocked, you did a tons of work (i mean, too much work for a consumer)

All they need is on your thread, but they want more, but what you can do, except make the same thread and share the same vidéos.

If they are showing this attitude then I got no choice but to re-create the thread again for every single post they are closing. The only difference will be that I will have to show them that the car sounds are not fixed in update 6.0 and it is the same as before.

You are strong man, i’m already imagine them doing nothing, or make an inaccurate sound one more time :grimacing:
