Lack of Race Marshals....

In Forza 7 I race around 3-4 hours every day strictly in the Cycled Divison hopper. For Months I have yet to see a SINGLE race Marshal and the lobbies are as dirty as ever.

What is the point in giving the Race Marshal status to youtubers/friends of T10/Devs if they are never around.

For months I see the same racers smashing the [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] out of everything in sight. I report every time. Nothing gets done.

About done with the game.

Just because you don’t see them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. Keep in mind, there are 100’s of lobbies 24/7, marshals can’t possibly be in all of them. They do their best, but they all have real lives too. And for the record, marshals are not strictly YT stars and/or friends of T10/devs, I was neither. In fact, very few of the marshals would fall in to that category. I personally haven’t raced in that lobby as it’s not one of my favorites. If there are persistent problems I will make a point of popping in and spectating to see who may be misbehaving. If you are seeing the same players causing problems you can report them here: https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst115884_Forza-Motorsport-7-Race-Marshal-Program.aspx

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully so that it can be reviewed. I can assure you that ALL submissions are 100% reviewed and appropriate action will be taken where necessary.

For additional info, what times do you usually race in that lobby? I myself am mostly on mornings EST. I can pass your time on to the rest of the marshal team so we can get someone to monitor it.

Since we’re on the subject here, this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this complaint. I understand the frustration you guys feel when you just want to have some fun, clean races, and you get bashed around and nothing seems to be done about it. I get it, really. As I stated above, we can’t be everywhere, and all the marshals have their own particular lobbies they like as well.

So, I’m willing to put myself out there for you guys. If you are seeing problems in lobbies you like to race in, PM me here and I will bring it to the attention of the rest of the marshal team to get someone there to look into it. I have a few conditions though. Please don’t spam me with every little bump and tap you get. Keep in mind that most hits are accidents and not intentional. I don’t kick everyone who hits me because I know most times they didn’t mean it, we all make mistakes. Save a replay of the race, watch it, and see if it really was malicious or just an accident.

If however, you find yourself in lobbies where there always seems to be troublesome players, let me know. I will let the team know that these particular lobbies need monitoring.

Please be sure to include the approximate times you race at so I can forward that info as well.

I’ll include myself in this as well if anyone needs some help.

It’s my understanding that having the Marshall icon is optional to them. So it’s possible they are there, you just can’t tell.

Correct me if I’m wrong?

That is correct.

I believe the race marshals are more concerned with the quality of play in Leagues, where points are st stake for leveling up or down.

Not true at all. Many marshals do participate in the leagues, but they are no more or less important than any other lobby or race type. I personally spend a lot of my time in the C and B class hoppers, or the Hot Hatch lobbies when they’re available. Since we had some complaints about the GT endurance lobby, I usually pop in there and spectate for a bit just to check things out.

I am still skeptical that there is enough marshals. I mean I applied the day they announced it. Not a peep. Been playing the game every dang day, mostly A class online, and can’t do anything about crashers. But then again if Super GT can lose his marshal status for making a video over him hitting one guy on purpose for revenge/memes, maybe I shouldn’t be one either.

I race P class multiplayer every day which is notorious for wreckers. The only Marshall I have ever seen in there no longer plays multiplayer as he is a hotlapper / leaderboard chaser so now spends all time in time attack.

I know a number of people who have applied with no response.
If they take the time to apply, have the courtesy to respond.
Why not give more people marshal status and remove if they abuse the power.

So once again Cycled Division is a wreckfest and 0 Marshals around. It’s Saturday afternoon. Maybe the busiest team for UK players and 0 marshals.

Not sure if allowed to post this but this is my same OP on reddit… read the responses.

People have 0 faith in Marshals, agree they are nowhere to be seen and often race in private hoppers amongst themselves.

I’m not sending a message to anyone when I need them as that’s not how it shouldd work. There are many many clean racers in /cycled Division, give them the power instead of these invisable ones.

In the last 48 hours, how many Replays have you submitted to FORZARPT@MICROSOFT.COM per the instructions here:

I’d literally be spending more time submitting replays than I would racing. If it was the odd occasion for sure I’d do that. But it is almostm every race of every lobby there is an idiot.

I always 100% of the time report them through xbox and now and again I would get a message from Xbox saying they had taken action but I don’t even get those anymore. I must report 10+ per day with the comment “wrecking in Forza7”. As I say this used to work and I got a few banned.

I’m not spending all of my time making replays and sending them in, as I, alone, am not going to clean the lobbies up unless given the power. For every 1 I record and report, 2 more will appear.

I just want clean racing and a better system implemented. Ghosting lapped cars would solve 90% of the problems as most have already said. 5% more would be solved by rolling starts and ghosting afk/stalled cars for just a few seconds and the first straight pile ups and first turn wrecking would be gone.

I know a couple of race marshalls who do an incredible job of cleaning up lobbies and improving our experience. They take time out of their day to help others so seeing a thread like this does make me a tad angry. There is a lack of race marshall sure but that’s not down to the programme, that’s down to a lack of penalty system.

As for Super GT losing his marshall status. Good. What a donut

OK, I spent a solid two hours this morning spectating this hopper. I cycled through 4 or 5 different lobbies. What I did NOT see: I did not see anyone intentionally trying to wreck anyone or ruin anyone’s race. What I did see: drivers who probably were unfamiliar with the cars they were in, possibly with stock tunes they didn’t know, and yes, drivers who probably had no business being in this hopper as they obviously don’t have the driving skills to compete at this level. In all honesty, all of the drivers I observed actually tried to keep things clean and stay off other drivers despite being unable to control their cars at times. Were there a lot of wrecks due to mistakes and poor driving skills? Absolutely! I personally would not be inclined to race in this hopper. But I saw nothing that I was inclined to take note of or report.

To make it clear, I’ve been racing in Forza for 11 years, I know the difference between poor skills and intentional wrecking.

I will make it perfectly clear again, the marshals are there to help remove those who are intentionally out to wreck others or otherwise ruin other drivers races. We CANNOT and will not kick and/or report those who are simply not very good drivers or are less skilled at the game than others. Yes, it is frustrating to be taken out by an unskilled driver or even one who makes an honest mistake, but it’s all part of racing. Everyone who paid for the game also has a right to play it regardless of their skill level.

Just an FYI, I will be revisiting this hopper as well as a few others that I have received complaints about. This isn’t a “one off” type of thing. I will continue to monitor hoppers that I receive complaints about to insure that there is a marshal present as much as possible.

I 100% agree with this, over the years I saved a lot o replays that I was certain someone had to be wrecking only to find out it was lack of skill or a stupid move. I’d say recently 90% of the intentional wrecking I’ve seen is revenge related. I’ve had a guy or two that I’ve bumped slightly but neither lost a position or that much time(1-2 seconds). Then half a lap later or whenever you try and pass them again they’ll pit you, shove you into a wall or destroy you from behind while braking for the next corner. Or the guys that get caught up in the first corner rush to finish first and decide that it was done intentionally so they try to crash the entire lobby out of frustration.

On a side note sure nobody has enough time to report every single race they do, but if everyone that raced MP hoppers would spend 5 mins a day to save and submit 1 replay that would get the ball rolling in the right direction. Once it’s rolling there will be much fewer replays to report.

I know it shouldn’t be the customers responsibility to submit evidence but it’s the only method we currently have and if they’re irritating you so much do something about it instead of saying you don’t have time. Would you rather waste time in ruined races or cleaning up the mess.

Sadly, a lot of incidents are caused by people just not being good at the game.

Some things could be done to alleviate that (like how Leagues segments players based on their level of success) but in the “open” Hoppers this is just a thing you’re going to have to deal with.

Cycled division is going to be difficult since most casual racers are not going to have the skills to be good at every division that comes up. There should be a ghost version of this alongside the collision lobby so people can learn.

It also appears to be a very popular hopper as almost every one I was in was close to full. It would be ideal if they could separate the drivers by skill level, but that is probably not going to happen.

i play every night in leagues at 9 pm pacific time. and last night alone there was a huge wreck in every race, and one person this week took me out three times in a row in one race, voted to kick and driver feed back, but the guy still there every night playen the same way. in pinnicle i race with the same group of guys every night and the good drivers seam to not come back while the bad drivers stay, this is pinnicle suppost to be the best drivers but instead its bad drivers in leaderboard cars just going fast and using the car in front of them as a brake. there skill has not improved just the knowledge of the fastest cars that handle the best. so the car does the work not the driver.

sorry for the rant but thought leagues would be better?
