Reporting Players

So as all of you know, there is this “Ramming” or “Crashfest” in lobbies, which is annoying.
Is there ANY way, of reporting someone who causes this, w/o being from the Xbox dashboard (By this, i mean directly to turn 10). ?

I Have fun playing leagues, and always try to be clean when possible, these guys just don’t even care.
I mean, i was on second place and a guy on last goes on a rampage by ramming everyone.

There is a post here on how to report but honestly I would say there is no point. Great you reported one person but hundreds of others are still wrecking. They will never get them all or come even close plus there are always new wreckers. It’s been a year and the hoppers have not improved at all.

There is a point. Stoping this. Turn 10 can Ban players for doing wrecks or improve the system in public leagues.

I still try to do my part as a player, to keep lobbies fun and competitive, and above all respectful.

1st sentence. And obviously they have a lot of reports, but still, not reporting someone who intentionally decides to ruin a race for whatever reason, only allows them to keep doing it.

Edit: “Wrong word. fixed it”.

The most effective means would be deterence. If the threat of getting banned was credible and valid there would be a lot less people driving like idiots.

Since Turn 10 treats this like an after thought, the melee continues - and will for the forseeable future.

In the meantime drive with awareness, drive as if everyone you see will do the stupidest most selfish thing imaginable and don’t set your sights on anything lofty. Finishing the race, getting a decent lap time and not contributing to the mess will leave you a lot less frustrated.

Unfortunately i always get caught by them. Even if i try to avoid it, or go slower, but, It can work sometimes.
It takes a couple of races to know the players that are good or are just plain “wreckers” tho.

Banning is very credible and happens daily. They usually run a few days behind from when first reported correctly but they will get taken care of.

For a detailed way on how to handle reporting dirty wreckers click on this link and go to point number 10 in the original post. It is time consuming (5 min per person) to get it done. It is up to the few that visit this website to get it taken care of. The general population has no idea this website is here or that banning is even a thing.

Speaking of that I have 5 videos to watch and then send off.

Thanks for the link. Still the guy who did this was lucky enough, for me to not record what happened.

Glad I can help. It is time consuming but it does work and its very effective. I have raced with hundreds of people after they have been banned and haven’t had an issue with them at all. The rest of them I don’t see anymore because the only joy they get from forza is from wrecking, and now they know its a bannable offence.

If its to put and end to wrecking im all in
Btw, can severall players be listed in a single file or it needs to be split? Didnt see anything in your thread about this. Also the recording can be done through the xbox clips itself and then editted? Thanks again for the effort : )

it has to be the full race not just clips. all racers that are wrecking in the race can be put in the same message. The most I have ever had in a race was 5 that I sent to snowowl. Just make sure that you name all of them and explain what they were doing either individually or as a group. The more specific you can be the faster it will be for Snow to get it done and get on to the next video.

Needs to be a full replay which you save at the end of the race then watch/share via “Forza TV” in-game (its a menu item near the settings ones).

Gamedvr clips are insufficient as they’re out of context and don’t give the full view of all players on the track just yourself - the person who hit you may not be the initial cause of a wreck and this is where the full replay reveals all, even telemetry like braking/throttle and steering which is crucial to understand what a driver has done intentionally vs accident.

And yes you can report several gamertags in the same replay.

yes i missunderstood a part of the text. Bad timing. But thanks

The marshalls are also a great new way to deal with griefers and so far much more responsive - theres a post in the general section about them.

I’ve on more than one occassion “hollered for a marshall” (aussie car battery ad joke) whom happened to be online and was then kind enough to hop into the lobby, watch a couple races and remove the people causing trouble on the spot. Best thing about it so long as you and/or your friends stay in the lobby the kicked players cant get back in, so following the marshall “taking out the trash” as i like to call it, we’re left with a clean lobby which stays that way for a rather long time or until we leave.

Personally i see this as a much more successful and less convoluted way of dealing with the troublemakers and i hope they grow the number of marshalls out there as its working a treat - in particular having a spread of them in different timezones would be good as they are very US centric right now from what i’ve seen.

In terms of who are these mysterious batmans called marshalls, i assume there is no public list as not only would they probably get inundated by requests but it would also make them a bit too obvious to the griefers which somewhat counteracts their role so they remain anonymous til you find them. As a tip though, keep your eye out for people with the turn 10 logo in place of where the VIP star would be, have a look at Raceboy77 for example in rival leaderboards.

Lastly, keep in mind they’re volunteer players so i’d only be hassling them when its really warranted and there is more than one bag of trash that needs removing. They prolly have better things to do than constantly watching races and dealing with griefers all day - sometimes they may just want to race like the rest of us, since they are one of us afterall just with slightly more power

I’ve read a little bit about it.

Looks good to me untill…

I dont agree as a player certain parts of this. Yes this is somewhat good to have, and at the same time it’s bad.

Imagine this.

You are alone on a race with other people.
You do a clean race under the circumstances.
Then you have a couple of players wich are friends or “Internet Buddies”, so one of them… let’s say decides to be a little dirty. (ex: Pushing players of the track, NOT CRASHING).
And one of their friends is a so called " Race Marshall".
You get a little bit “annoyed” because he did that not only to you but several people.
You try to be cool minded about it, and tell the player “in a way” to stop doing that.
Then the folowing race he decides to ram you out of the track, causing you to loose 1st place.
At the end you get kicked by the marshall and “His Friends”.

This is really the part i say, that the “Marshalls”, should not be picked by just putting the GT on the forum or PM’ing someone at T10.

Yes it can be a good method, Only WHEN turn 10 selects severall reputable members on the community to do this with the appropriate logo in-game.

And the question about the Griefers spotting a marshall should not be taken as “Oh no there is a marshall, must leave” but instead as " I should respect everyone now". Meaning that it should have a sence of authority on a lobby.

As i said above, this sort of “breaks the rules” on an online game.
No player should be above any player. Only the devs have that role.
Yes great that people are eager to help, including myself, but as of right now this shouldnt be done without the consent of turn 10 and developers.

Just my 10 cents on the matter.

And sorry if this was a bit “OffTopic”.

Erm you must not have read enough.

Marshalls are hand picked and approved by T10, they aren’t just randoms. It’s how they get the logo and power - its not luck.

So then how come i spotted you on a lobby and you weren’t identified by a logo of t10? Weird. Also you said that you volunteered to be one…
And i read something about it not on the stage were t10 announced it. When it was only an “idea” between the community.
Anyway thanks for the heads up altough i took a read “After” i posted that… ("Throw me some booo’s. :expressionless: ).

Johnson nevermind about the last post I did. Missunderstood the long text lol.

It would be a really good idea if people read and understood the Race Marshals program before posting opinions which are way off, beyond the left field fence. Start here: http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst67094_Forza-Race-Marshals-program-and-request-for-user-alerts.aspx

As i said above, i had no idea about it. And i had seen/read that was just "only an idea between the community ". After that, decided to search the Forums regarding that. And i realized that “this” idea was already in motion and was aproved by t10 Staff.
Was mistaken. People can commit errors. No one is perfect. Sorry if im in dire of some updates…
Btw snow, thank you for the effort in keeping things clean.
Also you can close the topic since i now know how to report someone.
Cheers everyone and thank you all for the help.
